My experience with Elite Prep has been nothing short of the best! One person who has been constantly helping me throughout my time here is Jesse Kwon. When I first met with him after taking a diagnostic SAT, he walked me through the different SAT summer camp options, and told me what he thought would be best for me based off of my score and specific question types I initially missed. I left that meeting with a clear understanding what needed to be done over the summer in order for me to succeed. I enrolled in the SAT intensive bootcamp and improved my score by 120 points thanks to the amazing educators at this institution. I genuinely could not have achieved this without their help. The classes are incredibly engaging, and I learned so many strategies that I can apply to daily academic habits beyond the SAT. I am extremely happy with my experience at Elite Educational Institute, and especially my guidance counselor and advisor,Jesse Kwon. As I prepare to make a transition to college, I can look back and understand how much of a contribution Elite and Jesse, in particular, have had in creating opportunities for me. My journey with Elite started in the early part of my freshman year at high school. Like most Asian families, my parents and I went to meet Jesse for the first time with ideas that only included lofty college brands, perfect GPAs and the most impacted majors. It took Jesse only one meeting to make me understand that I can do myself the best service by focusing on my studies with right time management, practice, doing due diligence to all my work, and asking for help whenever needed. During every college counseling meeting, Jesse always encouraged me, and even during times when my grades had dropped, he kept my spirits high. These four years, Jesse worked with our family like a team, providing valuable information, setting up course plans, summer programs, extra-curriculars, and helping me to maintain my school track records in spreadsheets. His dedication to help his students is exemplary. He is so invested in helping his students that he always loses track of time unless reminded by the front desk. I am also pleasantly surprised by the amount of patience he has as he will answer all questions (and sometimes my parents had a lot) without being dismissive. When it came time for college applications, I don't think I could have done so well without the help from Elite. Jesse took all the time to review and shortlist my Activities list, Awards and Honors, and of course my essays. I worked with Jesse through multiple rounds of reviewing before he gave me the greenlight. He also reviewed my entire application to make sure there were no errors. I cannot express the amount of work that I got to put with the Elite team to make my college application really strong. Even with a few blemishes in my grades, I still got admitted to 16 excellent universities, of which 6 were UCs. I got into both computer science and data science. In the end, it was a bit of a challenge to decide, but I am going to UC Berkeley. Without a doubt, my parents and the Elite team have immensely helped me through this phase. This may seem a bit out of order, but I wanted to cover my college application experience and the final outcome first. But I think my review will be incomplete if I don't mention Jesse as a tutor. Jesse was my math tutor in 10th and 11th grade. My school, Irvington High School, has a reputation of being intense at math. Apart from being a really excellent math tutor, I have always wondered how Jesse never gets stumped by any super difficult math problem. Last but not least, I am really thankful to the entire Elite team that I got the opportunity to work with. Chelsea was so much on top of everything giving me reminders if I am falling behind on any for-credit course. She is so well organized and really helped me to stay on track on a number of occasions. I worked with Joon as my essay coach, and he is definitely an expert of essay writing. It is difficult to satisfy him with the essay, but in the end when it all takes shape, you can only see how valuable his critique was. In the end, I became a much better writer. read more

Great tutoring and college consulting services. Specifically, Jesse, both a math tutor and consultor, has been exceptional at both. He's genuine, pragmatic, kind, and helpful. In tutoring, he's phenomenal at answering Calculus questions. Upon finishing the second semester of junior year, I thought it was over. I had just finished the semster with 3 Bs and thought it would be impossible to get into my dream schools. However, it was in that moment where I decided to recieve college counseling from Elite Prep, and was blessed with the opportunity of working with Walter. His expertise guided me through that summer, making sure I used my time effectively on extracurricular activities while also taking outside courses to prove I am capable of excelling in rigorous courses. I attended the summer SAT bootcamp during COVID, so everything was virtual. From the start, I had low expectations from my friends' previous experiences with SAT bootcamps. Elite somehow managed to blow me out of the water with their attitudes. Two of my teachers were really good with enjoyable personalities. My other teacher, on the other hand, promoted an elitist attitude and would shame students who got problems wrong. He called students out by name and would scream (yes, on Zoom) at them. When one of the people who usually didn't get anything wrong made a careless mistake, he dismissed them saying it was just an accident. If that happened to anyone else, he would yell about how they didn't know anything about the subject. Somehow, even virtually, Elite managed to crush people's spirits and make them feel insecure. The environment was so toxic, and the administrators (Penny, Walter, etc.) definitely did not help. Administration was pretty bad and did nothing. As for the actual learning, Elite can only help if you're scoring below 1400. Otherwise, you're wasting time and money when you can use free resources to prepare. Only reason why I am giving two stars is because it helps people who want to improve A LOT and my two wonderful teachers. However, definitely regretted my whole entire summer. read more

Though I was initially intimidated by how rigorous the schedule and policies were at Elite, they were just what I needed to learn in order to excel at taking the SAT. Elite Prep Fremont helped me to not only improve my SAT score but also my work ethic. After memorizing 25 vocabulary words every day and getting quizzed on them right away, taking multiple full-length tests week after week and going over methodical ways to approach each question with teachers in class, my test-taking confidence skyrocketed, allowing me to perform well on test day. (improvement of 400 points compared to my diagnostic test for the old SAT) I highly recommend Elite to anyone who is looking to improve their SAT score and/or work ethic. Elite gives you a lot of material (A LOT) to study with and the tutors are highly qualified. Russell is one of the most caring people I have ever met (he taught the class I was in for SAT II Bio and SAT I Critical Reading) and he's definitely a huge reason why I got the scores I'm so happy with. He's funny, very clear with his explanations, and genuinely cares about his students. John is also great, and he sings like an opera star. I think Tim left, but he always had interesting stories and still managed to teach a lot! He opened my eyes to the world of grammar and saved my butt for the writing section of the SAT's...and kind of made me so sensitive to other people's grammar errors that I cringe whenever I see one. I mean, I might've made a few mistakes here and there just in this review, but wow, thanks to Tim, if I actually really paid attention to grammar, I'm sure I'd catch a lot more errors than I would have before taking the class. Elite definitely takes a lot of thought into choosing staff members. Rebecca, who I think teaches some classes (I might be wrong), is often seen working at the front desk, and she's amazing. The people who work at Elite are always really easy to talk to and feel comfortable with. I can't say SAT bootcamp was the most fun experience (if it is, there's probably something wrong), but it definitely helped me a lot, and the tutors did their best to keep us awake and interested. The three tutors I had (Russell, John, and Tim) were willing to take the time out to help students one-on-one during breaks and explained things in an easy to understand way. Expensive, but if you really want a higher score and you're willing to work for it, Elite *will* help you, and it'll do a good job of it. Just make sure to take what you're given, put your own effort into things, and ask questions when you have any. Don't feel afraid! The tutors are super nice and will do their best to help you out. Also, bring a jacket when you go, because most of the time, it's really cold in the building! read more

In reference to the SAT summer boot camp, I can't deny that the experience was fruitful for me. Even though it's a very intense regimen(4 hours a day, 5 days a week) , the way they teach has left some of their lessons in my brain after all this time. Another beneficial aspect of the program is the abundance of reading material provided, that varies from traditional documents to quirky ones. I've taken three different programs at Elite, the summer SAT prep, SATII Math, and the college application workshop. All three were very helpful and taught by extremely qualified and personable teachers. The college application workshop even provides one-on-one essay critique, a huge help since students struggle with the personal statements. The director there also gives personal consultations. I've been lucky enough to have Jesse, from Elite Prep of Fremont, as my math teacher since July 21, 2019. This year, we've worked on AP Calculus BC, and there's a reason why I've stuck with him so long: how much I get out of meeting with him. Coming from a math background, I usually come into our classes knowing exactly what I've wanted to go over, and he's totally unflappable with any content I ask him about; he's that knowledgeable and authoritative in the subject matter. Before each test, I bring in any questions I have and all of my relevant homework that I struggled with, and when my school Calc class has a lull, I ask him to preview the upcoming material to stay ahead of the curve. He's also always been really committed to relating what we're talking about to the AP Exam itself. In addition to our great rapport, he instills a lot of confidence in me because he drills so hard and explains so well in the concepts that the school tests seem like a breeze. He's a really smart, kind, and helpful teacher. Right now we're working on the area in between curves and using the shell method, and I've found it just as helpful as I have for the past three and a half years. read more

We have nothing but great things to say about Elite, Fremont and its director Walter Kim. We initially went to him at the end of sophomore year and took a diagnostic SAT test. The results were quite good and he told us we didn't need to take his class, and the only reason we may want to consider it is if we wanted to so that it would ensure a regular practice schedule and further maximize our score. This kind of honesty and straight forward attitude is rare. We decided to take the class. His teaching staff and the practice tests helped us a lot and we ended up getting a fantastic score on the SAT. Walter is extremely knowledgeable about the college application process. What we really appreciate about him is his no-nonsense attitude and the way he provides his honest opinion - he tells it the way it is, which is extremely beneficial. You can tell he genuinely cares for his students and is always there to help and guide them. Penny and others from Walter's staff have been great as well. Knowing what we know today, my advice for prospective students and parents would be to approach Walter Kim starting from the freshman year of High School. Elite Education Institute is a great SAT prep program. Even though it may be pricey compared to other SAT programs, Elite by far is definitely the best. The SAT programs are well organized, rigorous and very thorough. The students have highly qualified teachers and are well supplied with study materials. In addition, each student receives individual attention that really helps the students fix what they need to work and improve their scores. In addition, the people at the front desk are very courteous and helpful and Walter and Rebecca ( the directors of Elite) are always willing to help you in any way and genuinely care about your success. In all honesty, I actually came to enjoy SAT class. Yeah sure it was a lot of work, but the teachers are very sociable and help make the program be more than just a dry drill-and-kill SAT program many would expect it to be. The teachers are very good at what they do and will thoroughly review given materials and teach general and specific techniques to increase scores in each respective section. As great as Elite's programs are though, it all depends on the student on how much he/she wants to improve. The amount one puts in to improve his/her scores really show. Don't expect Elite to magically increase your score if you don't work hard. If you do work hard though, Elite will definitely help guide and teach you to achieve the score you want. Stellar SAT and tutoring program that reinforces more solid writing, analytical reading, and test-taking skills. My daughter hated test-taking and had a fear of timed tests, but this program helped her overcome her test-taking anxiety. The boot camp style of teaching worked for her because she didn't feel alone in her studies and the program covered a tremendous amount of vocabulary and material that she wouldn't have tackled on her own. Teachers were engaging and director was very knowledgeable, especially about internships and college preparation. My daughter thought especially Thuan was a clear and entertaining teacher for a subject she didn't normally enjoy. Writing and reading instruction was excellent. Best place for SAT and didn't mind the drive due to Elite of Fremont's reputation. Plus, my son and I loved to visit our favorite dumpling spot (Bing's!) and catch up while waiting for her in Fremont, so that was always a positive. read more

I have great things to say about Elite Prep Fremont that we used for our son for preparation of SAT test.Our overall experience was very good. They were very well organized and had a very holistic approach towards every subject for SAT. One thing i liked about it is that they kept pushing the kids. Asking the kids to do vocabulary every week and then taking a test got kids into a discipline of doing vocab religiously which otherwise they would not have done. The program helped my kid to improve his score week by week during the entire course period. I was able to monitor his progress as well. Overall great work by this institute. read more

One of the worst experiences I have been in as a student. I go in to get counseling with the director (I believe his name is Walter), thinking that he would help me out in my school struggles, especially from my poor SAT scores. However, instead of encouraging me and giving more advice, he actually was very rude both to me and my mother, saying that my SAT scores were bad (why does he have to assert that when I already know). He also said there is nothing he can do for me and he just wasted his time with this appointment (then why did you make this appointment in the first place?). This was the first time I have been insulted in my face by an adult. Even my high school friends are not as immature and rude as him. read more

Five days a week for eight weeks. That sounded truly intimidating and boring - I thought my summer was about to go to waste with me sitting in a desk and falling asleep in a classroom I didn't want to be in. However, I could never have been more wrong. Elite structures its SAT Boot Camp program wisely; you only spend half a day in class and receive extremely manageable homework loads. The biggest and possibly most important homework assignment you get is the vocabulary words. You're required to memorize about 50 words every night and then take the vocabulary quiz the next day. This was one of the most helpful parts of Elite for me. I greatly improved my critical reading score because of my expanded vocabulary. Now I was only missing one or two sentence completion questions in the whole test. In class, the teachers are unique in that they keep the class interesting and teach in a way that allows the students to feel comfortable with asking questions or even chatting with them during breaks or after class. I've never bumped into a teacher at Elite that I didn't like. I found myself paying attention in class and even enjoying it at times. Of course, the reason for taking the boot camp was to improve my SAT I score, and it definitely succeeded. I improved about 300 points and what's best is I didn't suffer while doing it. The environment is very friendly - despite the cold air blasting from the AC, the staff and teachers there are very warm and welcoming. At the end of the day, improving your score really depends on the work that you yourself put in, but Elite goes above and beyond in providing the necessary materials for you to use and improve with. Our independent colleges counselor recommended us this location for my son's SAT coaching and subject tests. Our experience was nothing but outstanding. The instructors are sharp and some times the class sizes can be very tiny. He was lucky to have only one other student besides himself for coaching for the Chem subject test. His scored an 800. However, for college consulting we had an expert who gave us more time and service for the money--we did not do that with Elite so I cannot review that service. read more

My wife and I had two children who attended the SAT bootcamp during the summer prior to their junior years and attended the college application workshop during Fall of their senior years. Their SAT scores boosted around 200 points from the bootcamp and their college app essays and applications benefited greatly from 1:1 essay consultations. In the end, both children were accepted via early decision I into top private universities on the east coast. I took the SAT Boot Camp for the old SAT the summer before my junior year and then went back for College Consulting in the beginning of my senior year. Both experiences were invaluable parts of my college application process. I entered the SAT Boot Camp expecting a summer of boring and rigorous classes, not looking forward to spending my summer vacation doing test prep. Instead, I was met with encouraging, passionate, and unexpectedly interesting teachers who were clearly invested in helping their students succeed. Though the pace of the classes was still rigorous, I thoroughly enjoyed each one and always looked forward to the next. Honestly, I liked my Elite classes better than those I had taken at my high school. When I took my test in October, my score had improved by almost 500 points relative to my diagnostic from the beginning of the summer. Beyond preparing for the SAT, the Boot Camp made me a better student and thinker overall. In the beginning of my senior year, I went back to Elite for their College Consulting program. The branch director, Walter, and my college counselor, Joon, were both honest and encouraging when discussing my goals. As people who have seen many college applications, and their ultimate success or failure, they provided expert insight regarding where to apply and when to apply (early vs. regular). The aspect of college applications that Elite helped me with the most was coming up with my essay topics. Writing about yourself is harder than it sounds. My meetings with Joon allowed me to truly discover myself and enabled me to craft essays that reflected my deepest passions. Elite made college application season enjoyable, despite how daunting the whole process was. Come last March, I was accepted into my lifelong dream school. I highly recommend Elite's programs to anyone interested. My brother is now taking the SAT Boot Camp with the rest of his friends. High school is tough, and Elite definitely helped me through it. Honestly all I can say is it was not worth it for me and it was a horrible experience. I went to excel and a private tutor and had more success than here. In my eyes it's not worth it. I've had the director berate my score after a first attempt calling it "a score somebody fresh of the boat would get" and with that score I wouldn't have success in life. Well pretty sure I proved that wrong as I hold a great job in a top company and almost have a bachelor's degree. My second poor experience was when I was told a exam day was cancelled by a front desk receptionist only to find out it was never cancelled in which I had to arrive super late due to the miscommunication. Third and final incident was the tutors making false evaluations that I wasn't paying attention in class and that I wasn't interested in learning when in reality I actually was studying and I would engage in discussions of materials for class. So sorry but for me definitely not recommending this place in fact I had friends who went here to try out and never came back due to similar reasons but of course If people still want to try it out I do say your more than welcome. The teachers for each subject were friendly and were willing to sit down and spend time with each student to make sure he/she grasped the concept. Help was always available for those who wanted it. I was a student during Elite's summer SAT boot camp, and Elite definitely pushes you to surpass your boundaries. I strongly recommend the Elite Summer Boot Camp. The camp is very focused on fine tuning your skills to earn the highest possible scores on the SAT. After reading all the reviews, I've decided to write this one and am totally agreed with Zack H's comment. Of course, I've also decided to send my kids to another location. My oldest son went to Elite session a few years ago and he said the program was very good, depending on which tutors. I will not mention " the name" and I am sure the students know who I am referring to. My oldest son is now a second year student at UC Davis. He also mentioned that he did well because he motivated himself to do more than just what he learned from Elite. Nowadays, many students, those who are self motivated, can improve their scores using on line courses by doing many practice tests available. Elite is there to guide you and yes it does improve the student's score at least 300. Like many other parents, we want the best for our children's future, I've decided to send my other two kids back to Elite. I am sure the program is good, but here is why Elite scores a " one star from me". My kids sent several emails to request for the Diagnostic Test and no one responded. So I decided to send in the request myself. This time around, they responded to my email although I already took one step ahead to schedule the slot for the test by calling the office. When I came back to pick up my kids after the Diagnostic Test, I also asked the front desk staff who has long hair if I needed to register my kids or to complete any documents prior to attending the courses in the summer, she said they were both "registered". She did not explain anything as in what courses were available or spaces were limited regardless of what scores. She told me to call back the next day so she could give me the results. I called back the next day and results were given. She told me the weekdays session were not available, but my kids could attend the weekends session. I asked her to give me a total price for two for the summer session and the fall session as well and she quoted me the dollar amount. Before we end the conversation, I told her I will stop by to drop off the check. I have a very restricted schedule and I had to rush out of my work on Saturday to drop off the check for the session only to find out that:" oh...the weekends are no longer available". It was 10 minutes til 6pm when I placed the call. I was not sure if the staff was lazy and did not want to deal with the last minute work so she decided to tell me.." the seats were no longer available for the weekends". More crazy parents like us have faith in Elite for their children's education , but Elite failed to do its job in the end. I recall a few years ago when I sent my first son to the program; the instructor went over the score and recommended the session for my oldest son. Now that Elite's reputation has built up; Elite cares less about the service. I've read everything about Elite's policy and I understand fully about "first come first serve." My question to Elite, the person in charge, is : 1. Why offer the the test when the space is not available? 2. Why front staff did not say anything when I told her I would drop off the check? 3. Why there is no sign " summer sessions are closed" posted? 4. Why even gave me the price for summer session and fall sessions and agree to accept my check on the phone? Elite had my information and cell number. They should have called the parent if changes come up. No one bother to call!! Why? No need to provide the service due to its reputable name, Elite? Elite needs to stand behind its name. I really hope one of your person in charge can read this review. The communication among Elite front desk staff is misleading! I would have fired her if she were to work in my company. She will ruin our company's reputation! It is my mission to be sure my kids score well on the SAT using another institute. Without parents like us supporting your Elite Institution, Elite would not stand still as of today. I prefer not to write a bad review, but I must voice my opinion to alarm other parents or students planning to take SAT in the near future. Elite is not the only SAT review program in Fremont. There are others; so long a student is self motivated to do well, he or she can do it. It is YOU the students who makes Elite an educational reputable institute and parents like us who put in many hard work hours to pay for the course. Don't be fool thinking Elite does all the work for you; you can do it with or without the program so long student puts his or her mind to do well. The future is yours, kids! I came here for their summer program, SAT Boot Camp, which is held for eight weeks, five days a week. I improved three hundred points thanks to the well-planned curriculum and the individual attention you get from the highly qualified teachers. The environment is clean and perfect for learning. I absolutely recommend this program for anyone looking to boost their SAT score. However, don't expect to improve if you're not willing to put in the effort. They also offer other classes such as a PSAT book club, SAT II courses, 1 on 1 tutoring, preview classes, etc. They offer a free diagnostic test and counseling too, so it doesn't hurt to give it a try! read more

This program does not benefit everyone. The elite boot camp is not worth what you pay for. If you have taken this program you may know what I am talking about. When you attempt to email any of the instructors when you need help you usually do not get a response for a while. The front desk is rude. You do not receive much or any one on one engagement (you're not given much importance). The head of the department is too much in a rush to answer questions for a long period of time (even if you need it). There is a great amount of good work you receive but without the help to solve it it's utterly useless. I would recommend a one on one sat tutor over this program. I am overall very unsatisfied with this program that I have paid over 1800 dollars for and I can easily say it is definitely not worth the four figures you have paid for. read more

I took the SAT Summer Boot Camp at Fremont Elite and not only was it impressively fun, but I also improved by a good 400 points. There were vocabulary quizzes every class, which we were told that if we scored below a 90% three times, we would be kicked out of the program. Besides that, the classes were fun, the practice tests were difficult but motivated us to work harder, and I made many great friends there. The teachers are extremely qualified, and the best are selected for teaching at Fremont Elite. Not only are they great at what they teach, but they make class interesting and fun. The teachers also have a deep understanding of SAT material and often take the SAT tests themselves to better understand the material. Besides the SAT Summer Boot Camp, Elite offers programs for nearly any grade, including elementary school students. Elite also offers one-on-one tutoring, PSAT prep, AP prep, college applications, and I believe much more. Walter, the director, is also extremely thorough with just about everything and very knowledgeable with college information. He's a great person to talk to and is always willing to help and give advice. I do believe that there is a lot more to taking class at Elite than just academic improvement. I made wonderful friends (including teachers), gained a lot of insight and advice from successful teachers and staff, and what I learned in my classes were not only applicable to the SAT itself, but also to future classes in high school and college. The rigor and gruel of Elite may seem overwhelming, but few other tutoring centers come close in establishing such a strong work ethic among their students. All of the teachers I have encountered have proficient mastery of the subjects they teach and are always receptive, dedicated to help their students, and are wholly thorough. Vision was a phenomenal writing teacher who strove to help her students reach their full potentials in SAT writing. She gave copious amounts work and demanded that her students show complete sincerity in every single assignment. Mack has exceptional expertise in critical reading and enables his students to know the reading section inside-out so that they are completely prepared to tackle any reading comprehension question on the SAT. Willie was extremely helpful in writing and was the only instructor, at the time, qualified to teach all three subjects if the SAT. He effectively instructs students how to write with structure, substance, and clarity in writing. Joon works with steadfast dedication to help his students come up with the best possible essays and manifest themselves on paper into competent applicants during college app season. Elite is unparalleled in their quality of instruction despite relatively large class sizes.
