Language Arts and Math are amazing. The teachers explain very well. They lecture very well. They make sure that students learn correctly.

I took this as a SAT prep during the summer before I wanted to transfer. The summer course consisted of me staying at the institution for around 8 hours at a time, and wanting to fall asleep after the 3rd or 4th hour. I'm writing a review for both parents and high schoolers to save you $2,100. This class was ineffective, and didn't help me at all. The head teacher back then was very knowledgeable but the 8 hours consist of several teachers and not all of them were good. Keep in mind that the SAT is so broad, that its really hard to study for unless you just want to learn quick strategies, which can be learned without taking you back over 2 thousand dollars. read more

First of all, if you are looking to overcome years of academic disinterest or neglect, this program won't really change that. If you are a solid student seeking to improve your chances of doing well on the SAT, this is the place that can help you. Yes, the time commitment and work is VERY rigorous. The staff and the management is excellent and the program and the curriculum is very helpful. The experience I have had with Elite was amazing and would definitely recommend it to those and others who are looking for a boost in their GPA, college prep, and SAT scores. The other posts seem to be either 5 star or 1 star, and I think that it is an accurate representation of each one's own experience. If you are determined to stick with the curriculum and do the assigned work, it will deliver the results and the experience will be a positive one. If you are not motivated and just merely sit through class, it will be a poor experience. Overall, the experience depends not solely on the business but the mindset with which you approach Elite. If you are motivated and willing, I have found that they will be with you every step of the way. My daughter just graduated from high school and will go on to a great college. She has been with Elite Prep Irvine for several years for SAT and AP preparation. She believes that the help by Elite programs was very useful. In order for a student to get most out of Elite programs, the parents' involvement is the key. During the time, I make multiple appoints with the director Hana Lee. She is knowledgeable, friendly and always available. By talking to her, we were able to select the right classes for my daughter and get additional help if needed. I strongly recommend Elite. My daughter had tried studying for the SAT on her own with Khan Academy first, in my attempt to save money. Then when that didn't achieve the desired score, we tried an expensive private tutor. Again, she couldn't seem to get her score above a certain point. We brought her to Elite on the recommendation of a trusted friend, just six weeks before her November testing, her SENIOR year. We enrolled in a semi-private tutoring group, and my daughter attended Elite regularly on Friday and Saturdays for six weeks. What I found out is that she needed the structure and rigor Elite provided (take the test every Friday, review missed points on Saturday), that self-study and a Skype tutor did not provide. Plus, when our daughter did not feel she was getting instruction that fit her learning style with her first Elite tutor, director Soyoung quickly assigned us a different tutor whose teaching style better suited our daughter. Our daughter's score ended up increasing by over a hundred points, to 1550! This score, combined with her activities, teacher recs, and essays, helped her secure admissions to her top schools: Harvard, Stanford, and Yale. As a parent, I am pleased to say that Elite has been a huge factor in helping my child do well on the SAT exam as well as in guiding her through the college application process. They truly care for the students' improvement and have a strict program. However, it manages to raise the scores by reviewing the tests with the students as part of the program. As for the college application program, I was extremely appreciative of the way the teacher guided my daughter thoroughly through the essay portion of the application and suggested various extracurricular activities and additional classes.The staff is very polite, friendly and always willing to answer any questions I have. I was very happy with my experience at Elite Educational Institute, Irvine. The director of this particular branch is very knowledgeable and helpful. Hana has advised me on various matters: what high school classes to take, our plan of action for the SAT, and any other matter related to my children's education. Any time I reached out to her, she was readily available to discuss matters and come to my aid. My daughter and son will both be attending Elite (Irvine) again this summer. The boot camps are certainly rigorous and challenging, but worth every minute, if you put in the work. Elite has been an active partner throughout my children's academic career thus far. read more

Good, improvements on ACT scores. Got into high UCs. English: 8 points improved Math: didn't take a class here since I have 36 Reading: 10 points improved Science: I'm too good at it as well Go there if you want to get 32 on ACT. FYI, I had 17 on ACT in my end of my sophomore year. All I can say is ACT words...you don't have to memorize it if you're busy, but might help on AP Lang or AP Lit, which I didn't take. If I could go negative stars I would. SAVE YOUR MONEY as this is the most USELESS abuse that you would put your son or daughter through. Just to give you an idea of how overpriced and useless this is, the owner of elite drives around in a Ferrari and the employees/owner doesn't send their own kids through this program. That alone speaks volumes as to how useless this is. I would recommend a private tutor instead since they can focus on the areas that each child needs work on instead of the work horse, rote mentality of this program. read more

Truly an awful program. After spending $1300 we let our daughter drop out after 5 weeks. It is without a doubt the most boring and unhelpful SAT and ACT prep program imaginable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR STUDENTS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Elite trys to get your son or daughter to improve by shaming them, assigning 30 hours of homework a week, sitting in class for eight hours and monitoring the students remotely. Our daughter's SAT scores actually declined week after week. read more

I have seen mixed results from Elite for SAT prep. You really have to be a motivated student to do well in their boot camp because test prep will become your full time job. For students who are disciplined the results are amazing, but anyone who is willing to put in hours and hours into practice will probably increase their score. read more

The staff at Elite are excellent. Obviously with any SAT prep course, you can't just pay/sit/attend classes and expect a good score. To most people's surprise, you actually have to WORK to get a good score. Who knew that to get your desired score on the SAT, you would actually have to work to get it. (Sarcasm intended). Thankfully, Elite does an extremely good job at improving scores (even if you sit and do nothing, your score will improve just by listening in class). However, the money is always an issue. While it is on the pricey side, they do offer free review sessions every week and free review sessions days before the SAT test. They have a really flexible schedule that will fit to almost all your needs, so that if you miss a class, you can always make it up at a later date. In other words, while you have to foot the bill, it's worth the money. read more

WORTH sending my son and daughter to Elite of Irvine this summer. Yes, it is quite expensive but totally worth it! They learned so much regarding strategies, foundation of each subject, test taking skill, etc. Plus, teachers and staffs cared so much about students. Especially, the director personally asked us to come in for consultation in the middle of the summer program to go over my children's progress. Furthermore, I got to have another meeting at the end of the program to discuss about future plan such as school schedule and college plans. She was very INFORMATIVE and kind to offer us to come back at any time for a consultation. I felt that she cared about students more than just money. Even though she was NEW DIRECTOR, she was EXPERIENCED and good. To be honest, I was worried in the beginning because of so many bad reviews, but it was very good experience.
