My loved one passed away, I was tasked with cleaning out her apartment. She was a very classy women with beautiful clothing. Called ahead to discuss their consignment policy, they said I could bring 20 items max per visit; be there before 4pm. I arrive at 3:40...door is locked!!! I see woman at the counter so I knocked for her to open it. She just waived me off. I asked through the glass if she was closed, she nodded and said "yes". I stood there in the rain for a few minutes to make sure I didn't misunderstand the situation. Took a photo of the door hours. She watched me...nope, I didn't misunderstand. Elite Repeats & Boutique is a gem hidden in the Gulf Breeze Parkway. My mother and I were in town visiting her native Pensacola, and we went in because we love a good bargain. My mom was able to find a jacket for work and some other items. I purchased a second hand silk BCBG MaxAzria dress at a discount because of some wear. I am a thrift-er from the way-back and have been in A LOT of thrift, consignment and vintage shops over the past few decades. Heck, I have even thrift-ed in Paris and Tokyo Japan, and from Washington/California to Texas and now Florida. Yep, that makes me old---- and a recycler.....yes I mean experienced and yes, a bit picky. They have a really good selection of ladies clothes, one rack of junior's stuff that looks a bit sad and plenty of special occasion garb. I have been in a couple of times, purchased a pair of pants on clearance out front. I guess best thing about this store is the "elites" those dinner and formal gowns and holiday glam that you wear once a year. I understand rules. I don't understand surly. There are ways of explaining things without waving a pamphlet under someones nose saying these are the rules. Curt reply's and " this needs to be ironed"......I asked if it was acceptable but was told that it needed ironing. "We don't do heavy beaded gowns" and she was standing in front of one! Retro 20's ball gowns are in so no need to sneer and it was brand new. Seems a shame to turn down a $350.00 gown with maker label but without a size tab. A worn once sequined gown that had no label which is in fact Scala. I had another Adrianna Papell and Jkara in the car. I have had previous very good experiences some time back when the shop was on the other side of the road. Customer services was bad. Simple as that. Sorry store owner I have owned a business myself so I am sorry I had to take my gowns elsewhere. read more
