He replaced my Dell laptop hard drive with solid state one for a very good price, and even bought my old hard drive! My computer is like new, and for much less than the cost of a new one. I saw this on Kijiji, and read the reviews. I hauled my Toronto butt up a 45 minute (the first day, traffic made it a full 1 hour drive) up. Was it worth it? I'd say yes. This place is located in a strip mall, inside a jewelry shop. It's quite easy to miss, but if you plug in the address to google maps you'll be fine. Allen is nice, professional, and gets the job done. He's quite knowledgable and I appreciate how he explains things and asks questions. My computer wasn't turning on, wasn't charging (the charging would change from orange to green, but it wouldn't charge) and it took 7 days to fix with Elitetek. Note: that was longer than other reviews seemed to say; 7 days during essay times meant me staying late at the library and borrowing the family computer every day, rewriting an essay and scholarship application that were on my broken computer, and starting new assignments... I was in a crunch, and it made a difference. But that's not really a big deal, it's mainly because of the bad time I was in of university end-of-semester times. I don't blame Allen; he was out of stock of keyboard pieces anyway. Apple said I had to replace my mother board, which is around 700 with tax. Allen charged me a total of just shy of 150 to replace my keyboard, and clean out my small liquid spill on the cable between the keyboard and my trackpad. I was so grateful for him! I really hope he continues his honesty, genuineness and good humour. My only complaint is this weird clicking from my laptop - after it came back, there's this clicking sound whenever I press anywhere on the space to the right of my trackpad and under the keyboard. It's quite a big space that elicits clicks, and it sounds a bit concerning... Plus, the audio sometimes malfunctions (it stops, freezes, then plays really quickly even though the video is fine). But the shop is so far that I wonder if it's worth it to trek back. I'm under the 90 day warranty, so I'll observe for 2 more weeks before I go in. Will update if I go back in. All in all, would definitely recommend, would seriously consider going back for other technology issues despite the distance. read more

I selected EliteTek Computer Services after reading several stellar reviews about the Support Specialist, Allen, and was so relieved when all the reviews turned out to be true. Allen is the real deal. I was so impressed by Allen and his expertise that he is now my go-to tech specialist for any computer problems I have in the future. The touchscreen on my one-year old Dell notebook fried on Boxing Day and I was frantic after learning the warranty expired a few days earlier and Dell was charging a starting fee of $500 US. I called Allen and was immediately comforted by his reassuring voice. He told me to bring in by laptop and he would take a look and give me a quote. I brought in my laptop the evening of Jan 27th and spent over an 1 1/2 hours at the shop while Allen took apart the screen and contacted his suppliers and also researched places trying to find a suitable replacement touchscreen. On that day he was not able to find a touchscreen and at that point he went through several options available to me. Even though I was disappointed, I advised him to order a static screen. He gave me a quote that was less than half the starting charge given by Dell. He gave me a ticket and told me it would take about 10 days. A week later he contacted me to tell me the non-touch screen was not compatible with my notebook, but he found a compatible touch screen and wanted to know if I wanted him to buy it. He advised it would take about 10-14 days arrive because it was coming from overseas. He told me he would keep the quote he gave for the non-touch screen and apologized for the delay. I was impressed with his integrity and I said YES. Yesterday, the touch screen arrived, Allen installed it and I picked it up. I used it last night and it works like a charm. Thank you Allen! You will see me again soon when I bring in my old laptop for a tune-up. :) If you are experiencing ANY issues with your computer and need a tech expert who is knowledgeable, professional, personable and stands by his word, Allen is the guy and EliteTek is the place to go. I have a late 2011 Macbook Air model and the charger to it had broke. I tried out a charger from canada computers before buying and it did not work. I panicked and thought there was something wrong with my computer (I'm not very tech savvy). I brought it to Elitetek before work and when I returned from work, he let me know the computer was ok but strongly recommended that the battery is replaced and obviously, that I need a new charger. So I bought the charger from the store (not authentic apple product, but it was cheaper and it works). After a week of thought, I decided to get it replaced and for the last few months, the computer has been working like new! It used to run on half an hour of battery but it's more like 2-3 hours now. I'm really happy with the service and result! I think I can use this computer for another few years. read more

Where can I even begin to explain how pleased I am? Last night, my laptop suffered an unfortunate accident where a bottle of pure acetone was knocked over and spilled onto my laptop. Attempts were made to see if my Macbook Air had survived before it shut down completely and refused to turn on. Cue freak out the moment I found out. Around 10:20 this morning, I called Allen and explained my situation to him. He was more than able to accommodate me dropping in an hour later to diagnose the damages. Turns out, there was a very strong chance that it would just be some keyboard damage. You can imagine the relief. Apple would have charged us close to $700 for a repair of both the keyboard, and supposedly the Logic Board which was said to be minorly damaged as well. Allen quoted $150. I left my laptop with him and went about my errands, receiving a call a few hours later with the good news that it was just keyboard damage and that my laptop was ready to be picked up. Now it works and looks like it's brand new! I can't thank Elitetek enough for everything and they'll surely be on our call list the next time we have a Macbook issue! read more

This review is long over due: It seems strange to describe a sales man as honest, but that is what Allen is, as well as a brilliant IT handy person. He is also super-friendly and patient. 6 months ago, I brought in my 3 year old laptop that would shut-down randomly due to over-heating for repair. I looked up different services using yelp and saw Allen's 5 star reviews and called him. Right away I liked him before meeting, he was friendly and professional on the phone and asked me detailed questions to try to diagnose the problem prior to meeting me. When I brought it in he immediately allayed my concerns and did not judge me for the horrible condition that I kept my laptop and also was able to properly diagnose the problem by simply looking at the surface of the laptop. He was also very honest and forthcoming about the costs. He suggested that it would cost me about the same or slightly more to replace the laptop with a slightly used laptop, rather than repair the one I had. So I ended up buying a used laptop that he had restored to good condition for a fair and reasonable price and he threw in a 3 month warranty, which I didn't need. It is 6 months later and the laptop still works well and is faster and more efficient than my old laptop obviously and I saved money, as I would of eventually had to replace the old one after I paid to repair it. So this is actually cheaper. and it's not just the price, the service is wroth it too. I've been to other repair shops that don't really take the time to answer your questions or seem to care at all or there is a language barrier, so they can't explain anything to you even if they wanted to. read more

I came across the Elitetek ad on Kijiji when trying to find a place that could repair (or at least diagnose) my water-damaged Macbook Pro. I sent him and email and received an immediate response. I brought it in on Saturday morning for a free diagnosis, and he gave me his honest opinion. I decided to proceed with the repair, which he promised would be done by the following Tuesday.
