I first tried mineral makeup when I was looking for makeup that wouldn't exacerbate my adult acne. Prior to this, I've mostly stayed away from mineral makeup because I felt that they were more expensive than and not as well-performing as traditional makeup. Ellana Minerals proved me wrong on both counts. Ellana carries a range of powder foundations with buildable coverage and reasonably lasting wear, plus they offer so many shades with yellow, pink and olive undertones that it's practically impossible not to find your color match.
A couple of years back, Ellana actually launched pressed versions of their foundations, eyeshadows and blushes. While they are quite good, I still somehow pressed the original loose variants despite the added inconvenience and mess involved in using loose powders. The loose versions are less inexpensive, for one thing --- especially if you buy refills than you can use with their recyclable original containers. Also, I feel like the skin benefits of mineral makeup tend to be compromised by the pressing.
Ellana Minerals has a counter at The Ramp Crossings where you can swatch and test everything. You can also order products through their online site; they are currently offering free shipping for all Philippine orders. If this is your first time to try their products, you can order a free sampler of their foundations, concealers and finishing powders so you can find out which shades will work best for you. read more
