Not only that, but they also sell some other basic everyday items like bread, milk, eggs etc. Not only THAT, but they have a rather large section which has Asian cooking products as well as some crazy looking snack foods. Basically it is the best place ever. Actually this shop is very new, replacing an old fruit and vegetable store which was just terrible. This one is the complete opposite. Located in amongst the shops on Felton Mathew, V's Fruit and Vege is very convenient. What I love about this store is that all the fruit and veges are fresh and cheap. For 99 cents the size of the broccoli was amazing! Seriously! The broccoli heads here are huge. The bananas and the apples to be honest aren't the flashiest, but everything else here is spot on. There also sell Asian noodles, rices, herbs and sauces. The parking here is fantastic. There is plenty of on-site parking.

Oh and if you've got a food allergy or are on some wacky diet these guys have got you covered. Not only is there an entire gluten-free section but they've got paleo this and coconut yoghurt that. It's seriously a one-stop foodie shop for all! Also impressive is their wine selection. These kinds of shops are everywhere in Auckland now and they are not all created equal. This one is great - lots of fresh fruit and vege with the full complement of Asian greens as well as the usual massive range of chilli sauces, soya sauces, pastes, tinned goods etc. Best of all the pricing is excellent and they have all the essentials - it's no good going to a shop like this if you can't get milk and bread as well. They are really cheap and are great for freezing for smoothies, stewing or for making jam). This fruit world has more than just fruit and vegetables but also has a small grocery section too. There is a large section for grains, lentils and other pulses, nuts, dried fruits and spices, all natural and unprocessed. There is also a range of Italian and Japanese ingredients, oils, pastas and canned legumes. They stock fresh wraps, pita bread and they sell tofu. You could probably do most of your shopping here. If this is sounding too healthy there is also a junky section with candy, corn chips and cookie time cookies and I suspect they sell quite a bit of that stuff. The staff at the store are super friendly too and the prices are very good. What more can you ask for really?

These are superb places to pick up some cheap vegetables or frozen dumplings to supplement your general groceries shopping. Or a kick-ass curry paste you can't read the title of. Well placed between New Market and Royal Oak, hopefully the small shopping area it sits in starts to grow again. The staff are timid but smiley. The big negative of this store is the meat section. Its malodor keeps you away from half the store. If fish smells like fish, it's not fresh. If the fish isn't fresh, then what about the hanging duck or pork chops? There are plenty of Asian treats here (and bad English translations). If you ever need mass amounts of soy sauce and rice you know you can always come to a place like Greenlane Market Place.

Shortly after it's opening I went in, it was a supermarket of sorts, mostly Asian orientated but still had lots of fresh fruit and veggies. I decided I would do a shop here as their prices seemed very cheap so I was curious to compare. I bought a whole heap of fruit and vegetables as well as some dumplings and pastes and noodles etc. At the checkout everything came to around $30!? It was so cheap! Their produce was lovely, the only irk I have is that it isn't stored correctly, for example fruits and veggies that are best refrigerated weren't and I feel they could have been even better if they were stored properly. Other than that this place is great and I can see it become a regular of mine if I ever need to pop in somewhere quickly for a few things. The people in there were really helpful, some don't speak English but there seemed to be a few around that could help.

The seasonal produce is usually well priced and can be on par with market place rates. People with food intolerance's will love the ease you can find products - the staff are all very knowledgeable and helpful, and will quickly find anything you can't see on the shelves. They had alot of imported products, but will usually have a local alternative offered as well for the food mile conscious. Farro is a beautiful place that any foodie or kitchen lover will enjoy - I regularly visit just to peruse the shelves of interesting new items to add to my pantry. My latest picks have been some local vanilla bean paste (a stronger flavour than the usual vanilla essence or pods), some kelp noodles (seaweed/raw vege noodles) and spelt flour (I had to buy a rather oversized bag for $14, so will be looking for more recipes to use it up as the dish I bought it for only used 1 tablespoon #facepalm).

Lately it's changed things up a bit, I think because there are so many "gourmet" supermarket/deli places to compete with. So they now have wine and beer which is a bonus, and have extended their specialty products range. There's still a lot of Indian food and often you can grab a couple of pouch curries for just a few dollars. There's spices, nuts, dried fruits, sauces and condiments galore. You can also get all the basics at great prices and there's a comprehensive range of ice cream and frozen foods too. Overall this is really handy one stop shopping and if you're lucky, there'll be some hot samosas left in the counter warming oven.

The fresh produce here is fine. The range is pretty standard, the prices are low, the quality is maybe not the best I've ever found anywhere but certainly nothing to complain about. But what makes Green Fresh better than other locals is the extra range of products they sell - snacks, imported foods (mostly Middle Eastern / Indian from what I've seen), and now booze. I assume this last one is so you can reward yourself with something sinful to balance out the fresh vegetables and curry you've bought for dinner. In my local shops I'd have to go to three different places to get all those items, so I like that they've all been combined here.

Several times I've asked if they have extra stock out the back of a particular item and staff have always been friendly and courteous. The layout is easy to navigate and the produce always stacked nicely on display. They also have a decent selection of nuts and dried fruits, as well as ethnic foods. I like to buy my wraps from here, and they have delicious fresh bagels and paninis for sale too. Also check out the frozen dumplings etc in the cool stores at the front of the shop!
