My hair is already very fine, so I ended up having to buy clip-in hair extensions just to make it look fuller. When I pulled my hair forward, there was about an inch-and-a-half difference in length. A hair strand rubbed across my forehead and left color all over my hairline, and the stylist didn't even try to clean it up. I left with color on my face and a stain on the back of my shirt. I even had to cut my own hair at home. I also went back for a facial during a special promotion, and it was very underwhelming. Between the haircut and the facial, I will not be going back.

Lauren used three different strands of thread requiring several tie offs and weaved back and forth in the back of my head after missing an entire weft in the application. The threading is bulkier than I've ever had, and the number of beads was fewer creating wavy application rather than smooth and consistent. The website lists her as master stylist, however her Instagram page appears to indicate she's been doing extensions for 4 years. The classification far oversells her capabilities in this modem and does not justify the astronomical price of this service. I will be calling to request a price adjustment in the coming days.

When I arrived her salon I waited and additional hour before Annette appeared in the lobby to meet me. I was scheduled for a Powder Brow and Derma plane appointment. Annette took 3.5+ hrs on my browns and when completed I inquired about the Derma Plane and she stated she forgot and would need to reschedule. A week after my appointment I was experiencing signs of infection (puss), more scabbing and peeling than normal. I am a medical professional and after following the after care instructions I knew this was not normal. I texted Annette regarding my status. Her reply was condescending and dismissive (accusing me of mismanaging the healing process). I also brought to her attention my brows shape was not anything like I had shown her and had multiple people experienced with permanent make up comment on the poor quality of the work. When I requested a refund Annette refusing offering only a free touch-up however, at this point I didn't feel I could trust her business practices or work as an artist. I will be working with another artist to correct my brows. I do not recommend her services.

The "massage" was bare minimum--it's basically just them applying lotion--and it fell far short of the 20 minutes that was advertised. The owner/manager was not there on the day of my appointment (I expressed my concerns to the women at the front desk; they said they couldn't help me but said they'd have the owner call me). When I later explained to the owner/manager that my appointment was cut way short and that I certainly wouldn't describe any of it as relaxing or pampering, she offered me a $20 credit (the service cost me $125). I let her know that I don't live in Fargo and have no use for a credit (nor would I want to return and spend (ie risk wasting) even more money); she became argumentative, claiming that my story didn't align with what the technician told her. I can understand why the technician lied about what happened--that's what people do when they're at risk of being reprimanded or possibly fired--but I don't understand the owner/manager's response. I'm a veteran and I chose Affinity because it's veteran owned, but it's way overpriced for what you actually get and they won't even try--in good faith--to make things right when they go wrong. Save yourself the trouble--and heed the advice of the other 1-star reviews; go to one of the many other spas in the area.
