Not only did she not flip out that I was getting a perm, post-1985, she gave me a great one. Do not go to Claudette, she destroyed my hair. I wanted the granny look. She put me under the dryer with strongest peroxide (40%) and left me there alone. My scalp began to burn badly. I was trying to scratch off the burning chemical when she returned. After she rinsed it off, she downplayed it, said she was only gone a few minutes and that my scalp wasn't even reddened. However, she didn't do the 2nd round of peroxide just the color, (which rinsed out when I shampooed my hair.) The next morning, my pillow was wet with drainage from my sore scalp. It was extremely tender for days. My hair was white around the burned spot. Claudette had promised me a free treatment to restore my hair DNA. I didn't return for 2 weeks because my scalp was healing. When I saw her again, I told her about my hair which had become dry and frizzy and it was starting to break off. She told me to put oil on my hair for moisture; and that the treatment she was doing would help. It didn't. My hair grew worse and it was so brittle and frizzy. I put the oil product on my hair like she instructed me but my hair was so damaged it broke off and grew more frizzy daily. I wanted Claudette to see what she had done to my hair so I went back to her again. I told her she had ruined my hair and that it needed to be cut off. And the silver/grey color had washed out. She put toner in my hair. Said it would improve the brassy color. And then she trimmed off the ends of my hair, without even wetting it. She straightened it with a flat iron and told me that my hair was not that bad but that I needed to apply the moisturizing product. During the next few weeks my hair continued to break off and shrivel up if I tried to straighten it. I went back to Claudette one last time. She said, "what do you want me to do?" I said my hair needed to be cut short because it was so damaged. She cut the back short but she kept the sides long. The sides were uneven with long strands that she missed cutting. I did not pay her for this last haircut but I had paid for the other times I saw her. I was so unhappy I went to the manager and told her not to let Claudette do this to anyone else. She offered me 50% off products there and said she would talk to Claudette. Later that day I had a voicemail from Claudette and she said she would be returning some of the fees I had paid her. She mailed me a check for $150 with a note. It was the first time she said she was sorry. I cashed the check. It was less than half of what I had paid her. I wrote Claudette back and said I never wanted to see her again. read more

Every time I have ever gotten a hair cut or color I have gone home and cried and attempted to fix it myself. It has been this way forever. But Tiffany at The Source is AMAZING. She is literally a hair goddess. Great at cutting, coloring, putting in extensions- what ever you need she will ace it. I always just text her when I need a touch up or something new and by the next week I am walking out of there feeling like I stepped out of a hair magazine.
