The service was attentive and knowledgeable about the wine list and other offerings. I liked their wine collections, a simple collection with a good variety (new and old world) it did not seem pretentious in choices or pricing. The food was a major disappointment. 1.- It is fair to say that the lamb meatballs were good, very flavourful, good texture, and not gamey. 2.- The brussel sprouts were almost good, a good mix of flavors and ingredients but the sprouts were undercooked, I felt like I was eating well-seasoned hot cabbage. 3.- I asked for the Duck Confit, which came with a huge amount of Indonesian-style fried rice. The duck skin was not crisp to perfection and the duck did not taste like duck, it was more like eating chicken. Clearly, the confit cooking process had not been properly applied. 4.- My wife asked for the NY steak. It was not sufficiently seared, it was presliced and topped with cold butter straight out of the ice box. It was so cold, she couldn't eat it. There were so many fundamental culinary mistakes in one experience that I cannot, in good conscience, give more than one start in this review. Major improvements are needed ASAP if they plan to survive as a dinning establishment.

While visiting Panama City Beach, we had one mission: find some good blue crabs! Being East Coast…read morecrab connoisseurs, we wanted to compare Gulf crabs to the Atlantic crabs we're used to, so we stopped by Buddy Gandy's Seafood on West Highway 98. The first thing that surprised us was the process. Instead of ordering by the dozen like back home, you're handed a bag and a pair of tongs and told to pick out your own live crabs! Then they weigh your bag since the crabs are sold by the pound. At $6.99 per pound, we ended up with nearly two dozen crabs for right around $70. The first batch of crabs available was a little... slim pickings, so we asked if they had larger ones. The staff happily brought out another bucket, and we were able to find some much nicer-sized crabs. Everyone was friendly, courteous, and happy to help. Back at the resort, we steamed them up, and they were delicious! They were mostly full, and only one or two were light. The only disappointment? As people who've eaten both Atlantic and Gulf blue crabs, we could immediately tell these weren't Gulf crabs. They tasted like Atlantic crabs, so that took away a bit from the experience since we were hoping for something different. Overall, Buddy Gandy's gets 4 out of 5 stars from me. The seafood was good, the staff was great... but if I'm paying nearly $70 and doing the crab shopping myself, I'm knocking off that last star!

I was nicely surprised this go around when I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and saw only 2 people, I knew I came at the right time to get my Blue Crabs steamed!. I picked out several nice "Rusty's" for me and my sister. We had the young lady to steamed them and seasoned them with The Gandy Mix. All I can say is delicious . Check out the videos and pixs, nothing more needs to be said except run, no rush to Buddy Gandy Seafood!!
