Worst rental place I've ever dealt with. I called to rent a skid steer for yard project. I spoke with Tony who was very courteous, and he scheduled the date. He confirmed the delivery round trip to be $150. Then when I went to their office to put card on file, I dealt with Brad. He confirmed date and said the delivery round trip is $200, I said Tony confirmed it as $150. He said, "He is an idiot". That's when I should have cancelled the rental. Very unprofessional. But I decided to go through with rental. On Wednesday prior to my delivery on Friday evening, I called to confirm time of delivery so I could be there and have chance to inspect equipment. I was told they would call me when on the way. They did not. The skid steer was dropped at end of my drive which is 200 yards and out of site of the house. I had no idea it was there until we were leaving the house. I inspected the equipment, took pictures, because the tracks were worn down with no traction and metal gears sticking out of grip holes. I would have declined the delivery If I had been able to inspect it prior to the drop. Bob Cat states tracks should be replaced at 300 hours of use. The hours on the equipment when dropped read 355. It took me two hours having no tread to clear a 15 X 15 area. Then when starting to grade my 28 X 28 area, the right track slipped off. I contacted them and was told you can either put it back on yourself (Right), or they could send someone that will put it back on and cost an additional $150. I told them to just come pick it up. I got 3.5 hours of time on an 8-hour (day) rental. I normally deal with Liberty Rental in Talking Rock, and they have the best service and maintained equipment. Only reason I went to Ellijay Tool Rental was that Liberty no longer has the smaller skid steer. But I will go back to them for all future rentals. read more

The idea of renting heavy equipment was daunting for me, someone who had ZERO experience w it. I called ETR and began asking questions. Tony (at the desk) was super helpful and patient taking my multiple calls as I tried to figure what I really needed. Eventually, I got the Bobcat E20 for my job. I had 2 mechanical issues during the week long rental and while it tool a little time to resolve as they were down a person at that time but they added days to my rental to make up for it. These issues were not really my fault and they were quick to fix them at no cost to me. Jeremy (owner) even came out to lead the fixing effort. Small town business w a commitment to do things right by the customer. I dont need everything to always be perfect but I do want to work w businesses that make things right when they aren't perfect. As a homeowner, before you rent a piece of equipment from anyone be sure you have estimated the length of time you think it will take you to complete your job. If the project you are about to tackle develops into more days than you rented equipment, you may have been able to purchase from a Lowes or Home Depot and it would be yours... Also, check your rental companies; there are rental companies that will give you Sunday free, and this allows for you to make mistakes and not become frustrated when you know you have Sunday free to complete your job Also, if you are late returning your equipment, you need to know-- a big possibility you will be charged the late fee as was told to you. I paid for Saturday and Sunday,,,I did not finish my project, I was late returning due to a conference call and I did have to pay the late fee. I was a frustrated new customer and new homeowner. I asked if he could waive the $26 late fee or split it with me. The answer NO. I need to rent more equipment but $26 cost them my business. Shop around. read more

i rented from them on a sat, and they brought it to us on a friday afternoon. we called them to pick it up sat and they came monday to pick it up.they only charged us for 24 hrs. these are great people very nice and considerate. i will recomend them to anyone of my family or friends. great job guys. Rip-off artist!! We rented a bob cat for 24 hours. They delivered it at 2:00pm on Friday. We waited for them to pick it up on Saturday, but they didn't come. Monday we called them and they picked it up, but then called and said that we owed them $475.00 extra dollars, because we used the bob cat for more than 8 hours. We explained that we had rented it for 24 hours. They said it didn't matter, we couldn't use it but 8 of those hours. Why do they not just rent the equipment for 8 hours if that is really what they mean. This is a scam!!! I am glad we didn't run it for the entire 24 hours that we rented it for, we would have gone broke. We advise everyone to steer clear of this place. read more
