Brought my son in there today who has a complex and extensive medical history and wouldn't suggest bringing a dog there for care. Worst patient care. Our nurse never came in. Waited 2 hours in a room with a blatant lie of, "the nurse will be right in!" The nurses and providers were at the nurses station the entire time, smoking and joking. Zero regard for patients. We skipped the emergency department at the hospital this time when the parking lot was packed, and knowing this wasn't an emergency, we went down to the urgent care at Elliot at rivers edge. It was the first time we'd been there and we are really happy we did! Without an available appointment, we registered as a walk in. The staff was great with my mom and listened to our concerns. Everyone from the front desk to discharge was kind, and respectful. We got our primary worries relieved, thank, and will follow up with her PCP. It took a couple of hours, but that included labs and an X-ray, and was much better than the frequent 6+ hour wait at the ED and we spared the ED the resources of being seen there for an urgent, but not emergency, concern. read more

The wait time the website gives you is just the time it will take to get into an exam room. It said 5 minutes but I have been waiting in the exam room for over an hour. Had bugs in my ear and they said they were out. They weren't. Two weeks later my eardrum perforated and bleeding I went back with another bug and they don't have an ENT so referred me to Nashua and they never sent my info so I'm just gonna have to wait. Be careful, if they send you to the ER because they cannot run certain tests or procedures after a certain time they will charge you 2 copays. One being the urgent care copay and the other being the ER copay. I specifically asked the Dr when he told me to go there because after 2:30 they cannot do what I needed... My specialty doctors are all at River's Edge, and I'm very pleased with all of them (rheumatology, dermatology, general surgery). Especially love my rheumatologist, Dr. Lynch. Been with him since he had his private practice and then merged with River's Edge a few years ago. This time I was there for a shoulder MRI. They'd had a cancellation so got me in at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. I'd never had one before, but other than the position my shoulder had to be in, it wasn't overly uncomfortable. Open MRI, so not particularly claustrophobic. The headphones do zilch for the noise. But the tech was really good about talking to me, making sure I was okay (yes I could scratch my nose between scans - the vibrations made it itchy!) letting me know how long the next scan would take. But you suck it up in order to figure out what is wrong. I'll be going back soon for an orthopaedic surgery consult. Two small tears. Hopefully we can let more time and more physio sort things out. Crossing fingers, toes, eyes... The medical center is behind the urgent care entrance. At the rear of the building. Nice three level parking garage and free valet parking is available. read more

I'd like to point out that most of the bad reviews here are related to people having lousy or no insurance and having money problems. The Elliot is a victim of our horrid for profit health care system just as the patients are. As the Democrats are the people advocating national health care, I strongly suggest people vote for them. America is the only industrialized country without such a system and it is an absolute disgrace. And it's not communism - it's common sense. I recently tripped and fell on a sidewalk, resulting in a cut over my right eye and a bad cut on one finger. I went to the Elliot Urgent Care facility at rivers edge in Manchester. Kim checked me in quickly and she noticed I was hard of hearing. She gave me a set of headphones and amplifier to help, which it did. A nurse took me into a room and checked all my vital signs, etc., and made sure I was comfortable. Dr. Steven Christensen was the doctor on duty who took care of me. My eye had filled up with blood and he was concerned about internal bleeding in my brain, as I'm on blood thinners with increased risks. He quickly had me take a Cat scan to check it, and fortunately, everything was OK. He spent a lot of time checking my eye, and giving me numerous vision tests to make sure my sight was OK. He called an eye doctor for more info and to see if that doctor needed to see me. Dr. Christensen was amazingly thorough, professional, yet also down to earth and easy to talk to. He had another aide put a couple stitches in the cut finger. The person who did the stitches was a retired military major with a great sense of humor and a very caring, professional manner. Numerous nurses and aides came and went, performing cleanup of my cuts, applying bandages etc. etc., and to a person, they were all fantastic. I left the facility a few hours later extremely happy I went there and amazed at the level of professional care I received, at every level. I would also mention that the cleanliness of the whole place was breathtaking. Equally, or even more important, this exceptional care I received from this gifted doctor and his staff is representative of my overall experience at the Elliot hospital over the last ten years or so. I have gone to them with numerous life threatening situations - kidney stone attack, clogged artery, phenomena, acute pancreatitis, and in every case, the problem was quickly and correctly diagnosed, and successfully dealt with. The doctors I see regularly in the Elliot system, Dr. Samuel Goldman, Dr. Alan Garstka, Dr. Meredith Selleck, are all superb doctors, with tremendous dedication to their patients, and each possessing an uncanny human touch - making the whole experience much easier to deal with. What more could you ask for? I've worked with the public my whole life, but I would not want to work in a hospital. It takes a special type of person for that high pressure, drama filled, environment. The Elliot has done excellent job recruiting great people and establishing a superb system. It has to be one of the best hospitals in America. read more

Seeking urgent medical help from Elliot at Riverside today i was met with such condescending and unprofessional attitude from an employee that i literally picked my cash up from the desk and left without medical care. Worst part is that the employee had no business butting into my conversation with the correct employee that was privately screening me after checking in. I was asking what the additional costs for bloodwork and lyme disease medications were. I am uninsured and need to verify i have the funds ready when i incur additional costs.I called multiple urgent cares before deciding to drive further to Elliot, thinking they would be my best option. Unfortunately i gave them too much credit. Now i am on my way to Concentra since they were professional and took the 5 minutes to answer my questions over the phone. The final straw at elliot was when i mentioned Concentra for example could give me an idea of what costs were ahead of time. She rude employee responded "well that is Concentra" and was very standoffish. When i left i could hear her mocking me. Extremely unprofessional, i would never go there again. I wouldn't go here if I was you. I had x-rays taken on my shoulder back on 11/1/19; the results were back the same day. The most alarming one said I showed signs of pneumonia in my left lung. I've been calling for two days in a row and can't even get a reply from the doctor or his staff. I am a disabled senior and don't even know if the x-ray was correct; if it is, am I contagious? What sort of treatment should I be seeking? Can I even walk outside of my own house? Don't bother to go here. Find yourself another hospital where they actually care about you. From the feedback I've received from them (none - heavy sarcasm intended), they are not worth the time or patience spent on them. I wonder how much this will cost my insurance carriers. read more

You are better paying out of pocket without insurance than you are going through your insurance. Actually you are probably better off going to CMC ER over anything Elliott. I want to say that I am a very nervous person who was scheduled for shoulder surgery. The nurse who took care of me, Debbie, was amazing! She gave me a numbing solution and took care of my IV in no time. All the while just being there to support me. I met with all the doctors and they made sure I was very comfortable, I had to have a nerve block and I hardly felt it. Thank you Keith! My Doctor Mary Lee Sole, took exceptional care of me and had communicated with my husband as well. While no one wants surgery, I hardly felt anything at all and was so cared for. I've been to urgent care here twice and both times have been extremely slow. Today, all I needed was a simple test done, but they refused to give me the results until a Physician's Assistant could come in. He did a meaningless, cursory check and gave me the results. The test takes five minutes, but the whole ordeal took TWO HOURS. The location is convenient, but don't be fooled; it will end up taking longer. Also, they insist on having the sound up on their TVs in the waiting room, which is very annoying if you're trying to read. read more

I went tonight to have treatment from an infection in my nose due to N 95 mask instead from wearing it 8 hrs/a day. I want to compliment Jake at intake, Kayla, for her support, Deb.for her support, and Abigail for offering me medication to stop the infection, pain,and itchiness. I felt supported. The first time I went the receptionist basically threw my insurance papers back at me, informed me that they didn't take my insurance and turned her back and walked away. The second time I was sent there by my doctor and I called to see if I had to make an appointment for an x-ray to be taken, the receptionist told me to go to the main desk and then hung up. I became sick in December and went to Elliot at Rivers Edge as it was a Saturday and my doctor was closed. They sent me home and told me I had a virus and to take some Advil. I had to go back to 3 days later as my symptoms got worse and went to Elliot Urgent Care in Londonderry. I was told I had a sinus infection and given a prescription for antibiotics which cleared up the problem in a few days. I was billed for both visits and appealed because I was misdiagnosed by their doctor but being charged because I had to return to get proper treatment. They denied my appeal and said I had different symptoms and am on the hook for the double billing. Very disappointed not just with Rivers Edge, but Elliot systems as a whole. read more

I went here after having flu-like symptoms as well as severe headache, congestion, ear pain, etc. for over a week. The wait to get into a room was very short . I have also been here twice for my son and they were very quick and accommodating- basically the only reason why I'm giving them 2 stars. The reason for my bad rating this time is this- after waiting in the room for about 30 minutes, the doctor finally appeared, looked in my ears, barely looked in my throat, and quickly listened to my lungs. Asked me if I wanted a "shot in the arm" for my headache. He was in the room literally under 2 minutes and told me to take cold medicine and give it more time... (over a week isn't enough...?) Anyways I went to CVS minute clinic the next day and was told it appeared i was getting over the flu, as well as a sinus infection, and was given a prescription to TREAT the problem. I went here because I had Bronchitis. They were friendly and I was in and out pretty quickly. My issue is with their billing. While I understand that you pay a premium for urgent care, they charged be $175+ for an inhaler and in their words "instructions on how to use the inhaler" when they could have written a prescription for one instead. It would have cost me maybe $10 at a pharmacy. I called to try and get the fee reduced but they refused, he basically tried to make me seem dumb for going there in the first place. I have no problem with the $300 charges for the visit but this charge for an inhaler is appaling. His name was David in billing. read more

We have a high deductible insurance and just got the bills for some knee pain. $1200 for a doctor visit and a knee X-Ray!!!! And they wanted to do an ultrasound, but didn't have the staff for it, so they sent us to the Elliot Emergency Room - with yet another bill. Edit - I just re-read the bill. That $1200 is just for walking in the door. The doctor and X-ray have separate bills. If they posted their costs, we would have turned around. Most likely that's why they don't. There are other places for urgent care that won't charge ridiculous fees. Or maybe it's well worth the pain to stick it out until the doctor's office is open. My family had a month span where the three of us were getting sick a lot but we couldn't miss more work so we figured urgent care was a better bet. A month later we found out that Elliot at rivers edge charges a facility fee and a hospital charge so we were charged our copay twice as well as any extra charges including anti vertigo pills (80 bucks each) fever reducers and x-rays as some examples. We will no longer be going to Elliot as we have already accounted over 1000 dollars in bills after paying all of our copay. read more

I only gave a 1 because I could not do a 0. I went for a visit for flu like symptoms. I received several bills following the visit totaling nearly $1,000. My insurance covered some, but I ended up owing 2/3s of it. Had I just gone to dartmouth Hitchcock Urgent Care, I could have left with a $25 copay. This place will bill you for the room, doctors and anything else that they can add to your bill. I don't understand why things like the room and X-rays are covered by my insurance at DH and not the Elliot. Any reason you show up is a reason to stick it to you. Instead of medical help I was left to deal with deadly cryptococcal pneumonia on my own. They failed to listen to me about my symptoms that are the symptoms of the disease and did what they wanted to do, resulting in a large bill that did nothing and left me to continue to suffer from the disease to this day. Most staff seemed pleasant, and my physical therapists (while really temporizing--they knew their protocols weren't working) were both professionally kind. Kim Brady, however, in orthopedics, was weirdly hostile from the very start. I kept getting the impression she thought I was lying, and after jumping thru the requisite PT insurance hoops, couldn't be bothered to either call me herself or by proxy to inform me of my MRI results. PATIENT BEWARE - I went to Elliot at River Edge for a standard procedure and I was assured by the Elliot representative that there would be no out of pocket costs beyond the co-pay since she was looking at my insurance on her computer screen. I had the procedure then was surprised when I received a large bill in the mail. I called assuming there was a billing error and they told me that Elliot is not responsible for anything they tell patients and I was responsible for the bill. Went there on a Sunday with Sinus Infection, website and sign both said only a 17min wait, I waited for 4 hours! Not only did I wait 4 hours but after seeing the doctor for only 5 minutes, they hit me with two bills, one for the facility and one for the doctor! Stay away from the urgent care!
