This is a very small restaurant which is now open for dinner Saturday nights. They also have a Sunday brunch and some lunch hour days as well. Check first. Well, the dinner menu and apparently it does not change from week to week, is extremely limited with a choice of three appetizers, and five mains, plus 3 desserts. I ordered the 8 oz burger with sauteed mushrooms, artisan bun, truffle aoli and Swiss cheese. The burger was delicious. Really delicious, cooked to medium as I asked, and more than a person can eat. It came with nice potato wedges, and some salad greens with the chefs special honey lemon dressing. My partner ordered the Braised beef in stout stew and loved it. The beef was plentiful and the gravy very tasty. It had a nicely browned mashed potato crust on it. The beef stew was $19.00 and the burger $16. We also tried the double chocolate waffle with hot chocolate ganache and vanilla ice cream. meh... expensive at $7.00 and it reminded me of oreo cookies with hot fudge sauce. Also, very very small with little more than 1/4 cup scoop of ice cream. There were only 2 other tables there, and the wait for food was long as there is only the one chef in the kitchen. Parking can be difficult. The servers are very friendly and efficient, the decor is casual and clean. All in all we enjoyed the dinner but it is pricey for what you're getting. On a previous occasion we went for the brunch and ordered the Monte Carlo sandwiches. The place was busy and we waited forever. When the sandwiches finally arrived, they were dry and awful, and had been whisked through the egg without hardly stopping. Certainly NOT French toast. We had not planned on returning, but decided to give it one more try. I guess they redeemed themselves tonight, but for the high prices. I can see going back for the same meals one more time, but since the menu is so limited this place can get boring really really fast. Other dishes were appetizers: salad greens, warm spiced pear salad, and ? Mains were shrimp in a cream butter sauce over spaghetti noodles, cider sausages with vegetables, and Indian butter chicken. Desserts were the waffles, creme brulee or sticky toffee pudding. read more
