We had to fly from London to Venice. When I asked my European cousins what locals use for cheap…read moreairfare, they referred me to Ryanair but warned me to read ALL the fine print. And so I did. From London to Venice and back to London, I found options of 3 flights a day. The mid-day/afternoon flight happened to be the one I needed, and of course that was the most expensive one. Upon booking, I also found that I am required to pay to book a specific seat because my son is underage. At the end, I paid about (US) $750 for 3 of us, roundtrip from London to Venice, including the seat charge. The one perk of paying for the seats early is that I was able to check in 30 days in advance for each leg of the trip, so I was able to print out boarding passes at home before we left for our vacation. Btw, I think I read that if you are traveling from outside the EU, you need to PRINT your boarding passes - do it at home or they will CHARGE YOU an insane amount to print at their kiosk (don't let them catch you for this charge - it's an easy one to avoid if you just know about it) Not getting charged for luggage was a big thing for me, so I read about their luggage size allowances (which by the way is nearly impossible to find something that works in the States because the width requirement is far smaller than what I was able to find - except I was lucky to find ONE $25 option at Costco that was only available for a week or so before they sold out!). We flew out of Stansted Airport, and it was a LONG ride from London, even on the "express" train. Getting to the right station in London, then taking the 45 minute train ride, probably took up 1 hour 15 minutes, if not more. We boarded the plane on the run way - our group had to go down and up stairs, and points to the mom by herself, hauling a stroller down stairs (with her kid in the stroller!) plus her huge pack on her back. Then we had to take the stairs up to the plane doors. Once we were on the plane, the inside just screamed "Southwest plane, in a blue and yellow disguise". Overall the 2 hour flight was fine. The attendants were attentive and the flight was on time. I would say I was too stressed out about not getting charged for something I missed, but I was okay after reading to fine print and taking care of the details. Whether I fly them again will just depend on where I need to go in the future - for shorter distances I think I'd prefer taking a train instead.

They came and picked us up within 10 minutes of booking the service. Then, we didn't have cash so the driver said there was a kiosk located inside the airport entrance. He kindly escorted us inside and helped us check out. What a delightful experience ! I am incredibly grateful for services like this.
