I came to Elwood's Pub after my son played in a high school soccer tournament at Deer Lakes High School. Elwood's is also close to No Off-season. It is a cozy little place where it seemed like everyone in the place knew each other. I ordered the Pulled Pork Sandwich. It was packed with meat and only $9. My son finished off half a dozen full wings. Service was great and we enjoyed both our meals. read more

This is a great little hole in the wall. The service was great and the people were friendly. The food was amazing. I got the Buffalo chicken sandwich and loved it. Heard compliments at my table for the fries with gravy, chicken and rosemary soup, and the burger. They play live music too so that is another plus in my book. 10/10 recommend coming here and coming back after that. read more

I got the fish sandwich & onion rings to go. Got home, put the onion rings on my plate, and the grease was laying in the bottom of my plate. The fish sandwich bun was also soggy due to the amount of grease that was on it. All I could taste was the grease. read more

This place is great. Definitely worth an Uber because it's not walking distance to much. It's small. Everyone's friendly. They switch out drinks regularly. The bar food is a bit better than just "bar food." I don't think you'd shoot for a meal here though. It's not a full restaurant. It is a bar and they have live music sometimes. I love this little hidden gem. Never would guess this place was here but we stopped in after a hike at Deer Run. It's the local gem of a spot that everyone hangs out from the are but I go out of my way to drop by and ironically it's all for the chicken tenders and fries. Sounds ridiculous, I know, however they have some of the best for less than $8. It comes with the well-breaded, crispy chicken tenders and the seasoned straight fries that are also crispy. I love it, it's a classic and they do it right. All their food options are great and under $10 mostly. Their fish sandwich is massive but also incredible. They have the normal beers available but also have a great tap list with local breweries as well. Go out of your way and take a stop at this place, you won't regret it's simplistic perfection. read more

First time trying this bar. Very small inside menu is very small as well. Ordered the fish sandwich mine came out and was ok my husbands was very greasy the bun was saturated. The waitresss never stopped back to see what the problem was . For 14.00 you should get a side . Disappointed . The bears inn will remain the place to go good food good service ! read more

My husband and I love this place!! It's like Cheers. Small place where everyone knows your name. Craft beer selection is awesome, and appetizers that we have ate have been perfect (Just so you know, we dont fill up on food we drink the beer ). Open mic night second Thursday every month. Come early to grab a table, this place will fill up. I know people say that Elwoods is in the middle of nowhere but that's why we love it. Best and largest portion of battered cod I've ever had. Perfectly crispy not greasy or soggy. Cole slaw side was delicious. My only beef is that their days and hours are somewhat restricted. This has become my go-to place for a cod sandwich. read more

Great neighborhood pub. Reminds me of my favorite place near home. The owner addressed most everyone by first name that came in. Fish sandwich was massive and really good. They have a wall of hot sauces to choose from, which is a big deal to me. Only downside was lack of cable package for sports, but some might consider the tv's turned off as a good thing! It was a mid-weekday night in September and only the Pirates were on, so really, talking with others is a bit more important. If a game were on national tv, I think they have it. read more

We went to Elwood's to hear some live music. It was our first time at this pub. It's a small family owned establishment. We found a table in the back near the hot sauce wall. We ordered a cheese board and mozzarella sticks. The mozzarella sticks were hot, crunchy coated and gooey-just the way everyone likes them. The cheese board had three types of cheese, crackers and two different types of mustards-a honey mustard and a stone ground. The cheeses were an Irish Port, Sharp Cheddar and a Smoked Gouda. My favorite was the Irish Port. I had never had it before and really enjoyed it. They have a nice selection of craft beers. It was surprising for such a small pub to have such a nice selection. We found out that if you order a mixed drink with orange juice or grapefruit juice that they squeeze it fresh right at the bar. I'm definitely trying that when I go back. We met the owner and found out that Elwood was their dog. He passed away at 14. The owner was extremely friendly and she chatted with us for a bit. Elwood's is out in the middle of nowhere with a post office right next door. I recommend you take a drive and check it out. I know I'll be headed back. read more

What a little gem hidden away in the woods outside Pittsburgh. Old school red leather cute. Pinball game in the basement. As a previous reviewer commented, it's a fry bar. But they got a great fry cook. Awesome hand battered zucchini, Monster & totally yummy beer battered fish sandwich. They do have a good black bean burger that ain't deep fried, and a pretty good pulled pork sandwich. Tap selection was quality. And 1919 Rootbeer! read more

Great little place! Super friendly with 17 craft beers and root beer on tap. We had plain seasoned wings and buffalo wings. They are the whole 3-part wings, so a half dozen is plenty. We stopped here a year ago when we were looking for somewhere to eat close to Founder's Field after a day of watching rugby. We liked it so much we thought we would come back to see if it was as good as we remembered. It was worth stopping in again. When you pull up to Elwood's you wonder if you are at the right place and when you open the door it looks you're going to walk into someone's basement bar because the space is so small. Don't worry though - small space but big portions and huge taste. If you are in the area you should stop and I dare you to get the cod and finish it without help from someone else - I couldn't finish it all last year and my husband couldn't finish it this year. Clean, cozy and cute- this place has everything you need. Great beers, great food with a simple menu and live tunes. In the middle of nowhere, but worth the drive. A true gem. We had the chicken tortilla soup which was delicious with large chunks of white chicken meat, the house salad made with fresh quality greens and veggies.
