As a golfer who tees off from the forward tees, it was quite a long course. With the extra water on the course and getting no roll, it was even longer. Despite the challenges, the holes were beautiful and fun to play. Every staff person we met made us feel welcome and were helpful as we were first time players. Carts had screens to indicate yardage. They also had messaging such that if you left a club on a hole, you could text a ranger and they would retrieve it for you. Really great experience.

They immediately kicked just the women off the course with very little regard to their inexperience or empathy for the situation. Very unprofessional and rude. This course holds a special place in my heart because this is where I learned to play. It's a very reasonably priced course $25 to walk. The layout includes some elevation change with generous fairways. Most holes are tree lined but only a bad shot will reach the treelike. The greens in my opinion are average sized for a small town course. The offer some undulation but not too difficult to read. They take good care of the greens as they tend to roll very nice. Some of the fairways are a bit bumpy with a cart. This can be a very busy course because a lot of people play here. I assume because of the value. If you want a nice golf experience this course can't be avoided on a trip to the iron range.

Everything was clean. The room came with a fully stocked kitchenette which is nice if you want to do some cooking but we ate out. No stove but there is a hot plate, dishwasher and refrigerator. It's nice to have a couch and TV separate from the bedroom. We golfed at The Legend and The Quarry. They were beautiful courses Fairways and greens were well maintained. Legend was a little less than 5100 from the forward tees which was very fair. Quarry was closer to 5200, so longer and much more narrow. Don't forget to look for the giant bear claw on The Legend. Lots of driving between some holes but enjoy the scenery while you are cruising. Great courses. I struggled to rate this. I loved the golf but the accommodations had some pros and cons. Lodging pros - separate bedroom and living area - kitchenette - close to everything we wanted to do - Two TVs Lodging cons - the shower water never got really hot to that end the jacuzzi in the room was never used because we couldn't get it hot enough to want to sit in it - separate rooms are nice but controlling the temp was hard as air conditioning was in bedroom but thermostat was in living room. There are fans to help but in the end the bedroom was usually very cold - the TV in the bedroom was hit or miss on displaying channels. - WiFi was hit or miss. - rooms are owned by individuals so it's like renting a vrbo. To that end, no housekeeping. Not sure if you could request it. We didn't stay long enough for it to be a major issue.

The staff is great, the greens fees reasonable, and the pro-shop has a decent selection of balls, tees, gloves, and attire to keep you playing. They do not sell, fit, or repair gear but they do sell food and a basic assortment of beer, snacks, and pop. There is a decent practice green and a nice outdoor range/hitting area to warm up before your round. The course itself is a lot of fun to play and I recommend checking it out if you're in the area.
