My husband and I have shopped at Embrace for several years in Meadowview. November 2023, we stopped in at the new location in Bradley, Il. I made a comment on how I liked the new store-Embrace and I was waiting on my husband cuz he was trying on jeans so I asked to use the restroom. While using the restroom, the same lady that I made a Nice comment to, yells through the door loudly, to not use a lot of toilet paper and continues to be rude yelling aloud so everyone could hear her & embarrassing me. I had shoulder surgery 5 days prior and I was struggling to try to use 1 hand to get pants down to use the toilet and to reach in to get toilet paper cuz they were low. After walking out, I was embarrassed and just wanted to get out of there. I told my husband & he tried talking to the workers explaining what happened. He couldn't talk to a manager cuz all of a sudden the managers were too busy. Which the lady who was being rude was one of the managers. No apology & didn't have the nerve to even talk to us. Another customer said she was rude to her too. How do you own a business when you are rude and are harassing your customers! You don't treat people like this! We will not be returning to this business ever again. We will give our business to those who treat us nice as customers. Maybe you shouldn't have opened your business until your plumbing issues were resolved. She said customers were coming in and plugging up her toilets. I guess they have only 1 toilet working but have a total of 3 or 4 toilets. Sounds like you need a plumber not blaming your customers. read more

DO NOT SHOP THERE.....I went to this store and didn't pay attention to the pricing and dates they mark their clothing up to make them down by dates. Clothes are out of season and got the nerve to be priced up. Sophie is TERRIBLE please watch her she will put you owe more than you do in the register. I'll NEVER NEVER EVER shop there again. Love the store and the huge selection! Kinda picky about what you'll keep and not... And PLEASE fix the bathroom!! TLDR: embrace consignment in Kankakee has urine in their changing rooms and tried to get out of giving my fiancée an equal exchange when her clothes, purse, and phone case were ruined and had to be thrown away. 0-10 stars. So my fiancée was humiliated today at embrace consignment after going into a changing room to try on some clothes and once she had finished she noticed her clothes and purse were wet to her shock and it was human urine. Her purse and clothes she came in with were wet. they then decided to only give her the cheapest clothes she had picked out and still made her pay full price for the rest (she was so embarrassed at what happened she just wanted out). The response they gave made it seem as tho this is not an unusual situation ether. And when I went in to handle the situation myself only 30 minutes later I clearly heard the women "helping me" talk to a different person in the room she then claimed I had to bring in said urine to prove they were ruined when the manager was in, they then told me I couldn't speak the manager on the phone and didn't know when he'd be in next. Considering this was only 30 minutes later it was the same people working that were there when it all happened yet tried to have me convince them that it happened. They also lied about where her things were saying that they weren't on the floor where the urine was because once you find out there is pee on the floor you obviously do not move your stuff out of said pee puddle. read more

Only 1 out of 3 employees wearing masks. 3 of the shirts I tried on were stained. Disappointed.

I took the max amount of items in 45 days ago. Some higher end stuff. Some "regular" end stuff. More than one item still with the tags on and had never been worn. I took in 30 items (the limit at one time) and they took 29. The only reason they didn't take the 30th is cause the tag had been removed. Anyway, after the 45th day, if you don't come back for the items that didn't sell is deemed to have been "donated." Only it's not "donated." If you don't pick it up and they are able to sell it thereafter, they keep the money. Period. So I go to pick up the items that didn't sell and am given a printout of items that didn't sell and pointed in the general direction of where these items might be so I can retrieve them! So let's not make this all very difficult for you... perhaps you get the idea. I will not be taking anymore items there (and I have a LARGE amount - guess they don't want it!) Nor will I EVER buy anything there!!!!! I may be one little person, but I have a BIG mouth!!! I'll be telling everyone who'll listen! Thank you. read more

Store is poorly put together, making it somewhat difficult to navigate. There is so much merchandise crowding he floor. They are a large consignment store, the biggest in the area but their prices are high and arbitrary dependent on the date. The employees were rude. I was laughed at with my two small children and told sarcastically that I would "enjoy my time" they don't have baskets or carts. They also do not have a public restroom. Waiting at the check out is usually long as no one is standing there. Disappointed. read more

I love this place! There are days when everything I'm wearing (undies excluded) is from Embrace! I'm like a walking billboard for this place. I honesty don't like to shop, but the way this place is set up makes shopping less painful. All colors and sizes are grouped together... what a concept! I actually drive from Tinley to Bradley just to shop here! read more

Fix the bathroom already. No one believes it's "out of order". Or at least your regulars don't. Stop being so picky with men's clothes. Trust me, I love the pickiness with women's clothes. But for the men's clothes, particularly the most prevalent size (34-38) you have almost NO selection. And honestly, the majority of men don't know or even care what a brand name is. read more

Embrace has the worst customer service I've ever seen!! Every time I go in there I'm treated horribly. Tonight my mom and I were kicked out of the dressing rooms as we were literally trying on clothes. The lady barged in and said "the dressing rooms are closed!" It was 6:48. Needless to say, that was the last straw. I'm never going back there again. read more

Great selection and I mean it's absolutely HUGE. Found ladies,boys and girls teen clothing and they had pretty good prices . I like their pricing system for items by date. The longer theyre there the cheaper they are and they had a dollar rack too. Staff didnt greet us when we came in but they were friendly enough when my kids needed the bathroom key and during checkout. Id give it 5 stars just for their selection and variety but a few there were a few things that could make it a better shopping experience : 1. They could use more than 3 ladies dressing rooms and 2. It could smell a bit fresher ....smelled a little stale but I realize they had a lot of used furniture in there too. 3. A loyalty card is always nice and other local consignment shops have them. We'll definetly be regular customers either way. read more

I would give a 5 star if their cashiers could just manage to muster something other than grabbing tags off your clothes, ringing them up and saying the total. They do act a bit uppity, but then again that's just people for you. (Cashiers do need to act more human though - shop here a lot and it gets old when you're just another customer to them). Good clothes for a resale store though some things are a little overpriced for gently worn clothing. read more
