With a sign that clearly states donations accepted until 6:30 p.m. but when you walk in you're told they stopped accepting at 5:30 because their hours are different. The sign out front still says 6:30 and they would not take my two boxes. So I will not be donating there anymore. I'll go down the street to Goodwill

When I called the customer service to try to get a time of the pickup, the representative had an attitude. When I suggested a courtesy call so people don't have to sit around all day waiting, she replied "We're doing a free pickup. It is your responsibility to call us to get a time." I replied the items you are getting are free to you in which you sell and make money. She replied Yes but we don't call. Some people wouldn't respond when we called in the past so we don't call. I recommended automated calls and she again said we don't do that. I have donated to your organization many times and after this, I will not do so anymore. It is obvious that Salvation Army does not appreciate the people who donate and their employees are rude.

A couple of months later, my dad and her (his name is also on her vehicle) got a Steger court summons. My dad opened it and wondered where my mom went to get a trespassing and illegal dumping ticket from! Yes, they said we had trespassed and "illegally dumped" for DONATING! My mom happened to see her former co-worker and her sister there, their cousin (who drove them to donate) also got the fine to pay. We just went to court for this three weeks ago. Seven other families were also in court, and even despite clear evidence there was no warning about trespassing and "illegally dumping", the Kangaroo court was nice enough to dismiss the Trespassing charges, yet everyone got hit with the $50 fine for "illegally dumping". Good deeds are punishable by fines I guess, because whoever works here and did this is heartless and not very intelligent. We all talked awaiting the "trial" and said we will never shop or donate there again. They lost 6 customers with our family alone. What a horrible way to treat customers and punish people doing a good deed.

Nothing in regards to shoes. I asked, where is this posted? They said on their sign. Well, I guess I've should have read the sign....SMH. It should be on the receipt like the other non-returnable items. I guess I'm just wondering why they won't return shoes? I guess I should have asked. The only downside to Etc... is that there isn't a changing room, so you have to take a chance and hope that your $4.99 clothing item actually fits you. I put back several things because I wasn't able to try them on, and my rampant body dysmorphia was telling me I probably would not fit into that petite extra-small blouse, even though it was very cute and looked like it might fit. Oh well. My children did find a handful of Wii games for $1 each, though, and they were super excited. This is a good thrift store to give kids a few dollars and let them go wild. The prices were very reasonable in comparison to many of the vintage/antique stores in general. I live about an hour away from here but I will come back to see what new stuff they have!
