And the Foundation funding comes from the publication of the Celebration Community Directory, Celebration home sale contributions, and Private donations. The Celebration Foundation is governed by a Board of twelve Volunteer Trustees. The current Board is composed of twelve volunteers who are committed to community-building within the town of Celebration, as well as throughout Central Florida. Several of Celebration's civic groups were among the first to receive support from The Celebration Foundation. This…read moreincredible resort does everything imaginable to give wish kids facing life threatening medical issues and their families the best week of their lives, all at no cost to the families. We were guests here with two of my daughter in 2012 and 2015, and we've been back as volunteers over the past four years. I have only wonderful things to say about this wonderful resort. Founded by Holocaust survivor Henri Landwirth, GKTW is celebrating their 40th birthday. They've hosted over 200,000 wish families, and each wish child has their own gold star on the ceiling of the Castle of Miracles. Each family gets to stay in a two bedroom villa for the week, and all of their meals are provided in Cafe Clayton - the on property restaurant. There is also an ice cream parlor that opens each day at 7:30AM and families are highly encouraged to eat ice cream for breakfast at least once during their stay. In addition, Noah's Nook provides poolside snacks such as nachos, popcorn, chips, and iceys; and you can also get pizza deliveries right to your villa from Miss Merry's Pizzeria. There is so much to do at GKTW! The pool is amazing and is handicap accessible. Actually, absolutely everything at GKTW is fully accessible! There is also a life-sized Candyland Game playground, a beautiful carousel, and two other amusement park rides on site. In Amberville, there are arcade games and the biggest model railroad system I've ever seen. Families can also go fishing, participate in the evening parties, and do STEM activities in the Wonderlab. They can play on the dinosaur themed mini golf course, and get their hair and nails done at the Rockin' Spa. Best of all is the amazingly friendly and welcoming atmosphere at GKTW. The village looks like a fairytale world with brightly colored buildings, whimsical characters, and Mayor Clayton, a well dressed village who "runs the village". The village is spotlessley clean and very well maintained. Each week, volunteers happily fill over 1800 shifts doing everything from scooping ice cream, to serving meals, to power washing, to helping at parties, to running the carousel to help families have the week of their lives. All of the volunteers are so friendly and really go the extra mile to be kind to the wish children and their families. We've been volunteering during our spring school vacation week for the past four years, and it is the BEST! We look forward to it for the whole year and pack as many volunteer shifts into our week as possible, because being at GKTW and helping these incredible families is so rewarding and also fun. I highly recommend GKTW to families whose child qualifies for a wish due to tough medical circumstances, or anyone who would like to help out by volunteering. Based on your reply I can see why the business only lasted a month (even though you portrayed that you were doing this a long time and were reputable). I guess the imbecile thing was people not doing enough research to know this was not the case. I tried to check in about my dogs damn near every week. I got all the information, and there is more information that is coming in. I have pictures of my dogs the day I gave them to them. And pics of when they went into the shelter. They were covered in feces and urine. My one dog who they had to put down couldn't even hold in his own poop, and he couldn't walk.. in the matter of A MONTH!!!!!!! Not once did they call me text me. Instead they lied to me They blocked my number. But I made sure I told Bailey I will be coming for him and Reagan. And I will not sleep until they are punished. I have no idea what my dog went through. And I know it was not good. I saw the pics before he was put down and he looked terrible both of my babies under weight.. I didn't even get to say good bye to my baby. May his soul rest in peace. But I will make this Big thing and I will not stop!!!

I joined in on a culinary class based on sauces, stocks and soups and the guests did an amazing job. The concept of the volunteer is to guide the guests & just be a kind person in their culinary journey This venue is breathtaking, the kitchen is awesome and the knowledge you gain is so worth the experience. I will definitely be back to volunteer again! The guests made: mac and cheese, green bean casserole, kale soup & an awesome salad with the veggies sourced from their own garden Please take a class! The Kitchen House is a not-for-profit garden and cooking school that focuses on teaching healthy…read moreplant-forward recipes to adults and children. Ever since Publix Aprons Cooking School closed, I've been looking for a cooking school that has fun adult classes. The Kitchen House has just started a monthly "book club" called Plot to Plate where they feature a book that relates to or includes recipes. This month was Lessons in Chemistry so my friends and I decided to attend. We bought our tickets in advance as classes can sell out. The classes are different prices depending on what the class is. The house is in a residential neighborhood in College Park and does not have a dedicated parking lot so I would suggest getting there early as you have to find a spot along the street. When we arrived, we were greeted and given a welcome drink, in this case Cardamom Decaf Coffee because it was cold out. One of the instructors said that normally we would walk the garden at the beginning of class and also eat outdoors but since it was cold, we were going to skip the garden and eat inside. Once everyone arrived (cooking classes can have up to 20 people), we met in the lobby to start talking about different themes of the book. Then it was time to wash up and go to the kitchen. All the ingredients were set out for us and we picked the Veggie Pot Pie table with other attendees. The instructor gave us some knife skills lessons and then we all started cooking, using the recipes at our station. Each station makes one recipe so you don't get to make everything. And, the instructors and volunteers don't show you how to make everything first (like Publix Aprons used to do). But, if you just dig in and start going, it is a lot of fun. We had some questions along the way, like is there a spatula we can use? Or, is this the flour or the cornstarch? The volunteers were great and answered everything in a friendly way. As it said you could do in the welcome email we received before the class, some folks brought their own wine and the Kitchen House provided glasses and would pour for you. I think if we go back, we would definitely bring our own wine. My friends and I made the drop biscuits for the Veggie Pot Pie, which were surprisingly easy to make. We were finished early so we also make the Brownies for dessert that used olive oil and maple syrup instead of butter and sugar. When everyone was done cooking, we gathered in the lobby again while the volunteers cleaned and set up the table for dinner. Then, it was time to eat! Dinner was served buffet style and the Kitchen House split our food for people who had different dietary restrictions. For example, some of the recipes used non-dairy alternatives as some people in the class were lactose intolerant and one person had a mushroom allergy so they got a small spinach gallette instead of the mushroom Gallette for everyone else. As we sat down to eat, we discussed the book more in depth. Everything tasted great and we had a wonderful time. We received all the recipes in an email after the class so we could make the foods at home. I will definitely be looking at other adult classes here.
