Emerald Acres has done an exceedingly bad job. I recommend using another lawn care service. We will never use them again. The back office staff are simply incompetent. They do a very poor job of communicating with customers. Also, they make no effort to proactively address issues that arise. Finally, they know little or nothing about organic fertilizers. Earlier in the year, we received a mailer asking us to consider using Emerald Acres for organic fertilizer for our lawn. I contacted them and the owner came to our home and left a proposal. He suggested that in addition to the organic fertilizer we add pre-emergent crabgrass control and grub control. I asked them to add these services to the proposal because we wanted to pre-pay for the season to receive the 10% discount. I sent several emails and called the office every week to try to get an updated proposal. It took more than 5 weeks to finally get the proposal correctly updated. We sent in our payment with the updated proposal. Several weeks later, we noticed that no one had been to our house to fertilize the lawn. I called Emerald Acres and was informed that they received the contract and payment, but it was now too late to do the fertilizer and pre-emergent crabgrass application. I told them that I had already paid for the service and asked if they were planning on telling me that they weren't going to do the work they had been paid to do. They told me they were probably busy and provided no explanation. I asked for a refund for the missed application. I also asked for the owner to call me to provide me with an explanation, but never received a call or email. I sent several emails to the owner and the staff at Emerald acres to follow up on the contract and received no response. The staff rarely answer the telephone. I was unable to reach anyone, so I drove to their office to speak with them directly. The owner wasn't in the office and I spoke with the office manager. Although they were aware I had been trying to contact them, they never responded. I was also told that the owner doesn't use email. I don't think they know what they are doing and we cancelled the lawn aeration and overseeding. I'm not sure how this company stays in business. read more

Unethical company: I signed a contracted with Emerald Acres in May and paid for the contracted service. They then billed me at the end of the season for additional services that I did not ask for. When I called for an explanation they were rude. read more

First and foremost Emerald Acres always has great customer service! We use there turf care and tick and mosquito sprays. I would highly recommend any of there services. Price is slightly higher than other companies but he quality of service is well worth any extra cost! read more

If you enjoy getting sued over 150 dollars, this is the company for you! They would do a terrible service, ruin your lawn, claim that you did not spend enough money with them if you complain, and if you tell them you are not paying anymore for their undelivered/crap service, they will sue you at small claim court. And YES they are that desperate, they have the time to go to court over 150 bucks, while I was there, I saw them request an arrest warrant against another scammed client over 75 dollars. I just proof read what I wrote above, and I don't blame you for thinking I am exaggerating, but if you don't believe it, go to Concord District Court public record, pull up their business name, and see how many small claims they are a part of. I don't know about you, but if someone needs to sue that many customers, you would think they are the problem, not the customer? no? Find someone more professional and knows what they are doing if you need lawn and tree services. read more

This is my second season using Emerald Acres. I like that they custom design their herbicide treatment based on the weeds in your lawn. Since I have a large lot, and border conservation land and wetlands, I wanted a company that was willing to just treat the areas near the house. Emerald Acres was willing to do this. I called Emerald Acres on August 31 for lawn aeration. I was told the job would be done by the end of Sept because the ground was hard from the drought and the aerators had just been taken out for the fall season. October 6, I call to check the status of the job and I'm told it would be done by the middle of the following week. No one shows up so I call again a week later, and I'm told the same thing. Another week goes by and the job isn't done. November 7, I call again and I'm told that they don't even have a job in the queue for my address. What happened to the appointment that I've been speaking with them about over the phone for two months? They did not have an answer for me. I should have just ended the discussion at this point but I already missed the window for overseeding or anything else and these guys provided the lowest quote, so at this point I just want the job done before the ground freezes. The job was completed on Nov 14, 11 weeks after they were hired. I will not be contacting Emerald Acres for any work in the future and would not recommend them to anybody. They showed themselves to be extremely unorganized, unable to keep appointments, and displayed absolutely horrid customer service. read more

We used this service for three seasons starting around 2007. While we were pleased with the first two seasons, we had a completely horrible experience the third year. We received charges on our bill that we had questions about, and when we contacted the company, they refused to explain the charges, and told us we had to pay in full. When we asked to speak to the owner, we were rebuffed. Several times. After we received threatening letters, we sent a letter via registered mail stating that we were not attempting to shirk our obligations, we just wanted to understand a few items on the bill, and we asked the owner to contact us. The owner never did, and in early 2015, six years after we had used the service, the company took us to small claims court to dispute the $200 charges remaining on a $900 bill (which we had already paid $700 toward). We have never had a worse experience with a vendor. Stay away! read more

Again Emerald Acres was wrong in how they handled my dying tree situation !!! The owner was rude and argumentative when I finally was able to talk to him . Such a shame , I only wanted an open honest discussion as to why they were billing and treating a dead tree .... many other problems with this company I did not even get into !!! Techs that came out and left dangerous chemicals around , also dropping chemicals on the lawn while treating the trees which burnt the lawn . Very unfortunate for sure . As I said if I conducted business this way I would be out of business . What happened to customer satisfaction especially when there is so much competition out there ! Shame on them !!! In my short time dealing with them they have been great. I have had them look at some trees and make some recommendations and they were wonderful -- no nickel and diming on things. The arborist told me how I could do things myself. Very great. Customer service when I called was good as well and they came out fast. read more

ZERO stars!!! I was very pleased with the services I received as a new client last year when I signed up in the spring. Unfortunately I did not respond to their January request to prepay for my up coming service for Spring-Fall 2015. (I was pretty busy shoveling and not thinking about lawn care!) So they came and put down my spring crabgrass control - because "for your convenience, serve continues from season to season" as written on the bill. Well I got the bill for $140 and called and spoke to Carey this morning and asked for the prepaid price like I did last summer and she told me, unpleasantly, that I had my chance to do it in Jan and they even extended it a few weeks and because I did not take advantage of it, I am refused the offer and out of luck. I cancelled my services with them at the end of our phone conversation! Terry, the owner, and Becky, his assistant are both super-knowledgeable and super-pleasant! This spring, Terry's brought back 8 white pines which were looking pretty sick (brown) with just 3 sprayings, and at a very reasonable price. Becky has helped immensely with bad lawn fungus in the past 2 summers. Over the years, they've helped me with numerous problems with hollies and other plants. We've been using Emerald Acres for over 10 years now and our lawn looks fantastic!! One season we had grubs... the owner came out and assessed the damage and treated our lawn. By the following season the grubs were gone! It's been 7 years now and they never came back! I also started using Emerald Acres a couple of years ago for tick control. Don't bother with them. I ordered services to be done Fall of 2017. They NEVER SHOWED UP. Even after 3 calls to find out when they would be coming. "Oh, you're on the schedule for sometime this week" is all I ever heard. So I canceled the services I had ordered and told them I would not be hiring them for anything. Then in Jan 2018 I get a letter that they will be automatically starting my services in March. Yeah, right! Called again to cancel. I guess we'll see what happens in March. Very knowledgable about lawns and tree care. Will come out any time I have questions about what is going on with weeds or other lawn problems, and will make recommendations (sometimes suggesting that the best thing is to just wait it out). They are thoughtful about what they put on your lawn and trees and when--they don't just dump a bunch of chemicals on your lawn and move on. read more

I am truly disappointed in this company. I was referred by my boss who raves about them so I had them look at my weed infested, grub infested lawn last fall and signed up to have a beautiful lawn this spring and summer.
