VBS sold me two wonderful gas stoves--Thelin Gnome gas stoves for two different homes. Mark, the owner of VBS serviced these and my Renai and Toro stoves through the years. When the company was sold, new owners kept the name, VBS, but will not service the stoves they no longer choose to sell. While the technician is clearly capable, and gives indication he would be willing to help us out, he needs his bosses support and they say "no." Clearly they are concerned with legal issues or some other financial fear for their young business. But we need to help each other out here in little Homer. At least it used to be that way. Check out other stove and heater stores in the area that will help you out when the temperatures reach the low twenties and below as they were this week when I asked for help. They said no, even though we spend significantly each season for maintenance on our rental units. I will look for new service for my heaters. Sorry Mark, you may have begrudgingly serviced my products after discontinuing selling them, you stood by your name and reputation. Unfortunately, the new owners do not.

We brought our toyo heater in for the standard 3 year tune up. We were greeted promptly and…read moreprofessionally, filled out basic info then directed to pull up to the service door. The staff helped us unload our unit from our vehicle. During the tune up the service tech found a faulty gasket, which he replaced. When we picked up our toyo the staff helped us load it back into our vehicle. We installed back at home. Not only does our toyo seem to be running more efficiently but it's much quieter! I highly recommend VBS heating for their prompt, friendly, and professional service work!

I do it because the staff at sbs are unacceptably rude. Folks here act like they are doing you a favor. You know the drill, entitled staff that avoid being helpful and are rude and put out when you ask for assistance. Forget about trying to return something. It is a 30 minute process. Seriously hit up Home Depot or lowes before coming to sbs in homer.

Since it was such a recent install and was an issue with the condensation route they'd installed, it was free. Not cheap, but it's plumbing, so what do you expect?!? Quality work: check, responsive and friendly customer service: check! We are happy with their service and wanted to share the sparkly feelings.

I didn't sleep over a month from the noise. I paid $800 which included 4.5 hours of labor. when I personally figured out what was wrong they said they would fix it. I then waited 2 weeks for them to show up only to get a text message from the tech saying he didn't feel comfortable to work on it. this was because I was obviously frustrated that nothing had been fixed over these months! I never asked for a refund and they refused to help him. They all seem nice and professional but the fact that I have lived here my entire life and they refuse to help me simply because they know they are at fault and wont stand behind their work. Sadly they are about the only help you are going to get in Homer. So i guess make sure to not try to question their pricing or lack of integrity. who knows how ill get any help now.

Ordered our 16 foot "yurt in a box" over a year ago and had great communication with the people…read morefrom NS from start to finish. The delivery and drop off was very smooth. My husband and I put the yurt together in a day and a half. Everything we needed was in the box: silicon, drip ring, and all the screws. The screws were in individual baggies and labeled. It looks like the employees of NS love their jobs because the attention to detail of the outside cover, the stitching, the custom door, the packing of the box- all of it! We even FaceTimed them to ask a question and they were very helpful. Highly recommend- looking forward to buying a bigger one next time!
