******* Sewickley Hospital ****** I have visited this…read morehospital for SEVERAL tests, procedures and two emergancies. The hospital is great but me nor my husband are great fans of their ER. They are nice but not really efficient. I had to visit for a bad migraine. They had to put in an IV to give me fluids. This male nurse came in to give me pain medicine through my IV but failed to warn me that it would be painful. Lets just say I came off the table and ended up in the floor. I was so mad. The nurse then said, "oh yeah, it could sting a little." My thoughts were "REALLY WTF!!!!." lol My husband had to visit the ER for kidney stones recently. They just asked him his symptoms, gave him meds and told him to follow up with his doctor. $100 for that. If you need tests run or bloodwork this facility is great. Apparently Wednesdays is BACON day. HAHA I know this because when my husband was having a procedure done the nurses were all excited that it was Wednesday and they get BACON. lol So a recap: if your loved one needs to have a procedure done schedule it for Wednesday. Although I visited their cafeteria and I didn't think their bacon was good at all. I did enjoy plugging in my laptop and hanging out in the seated area of the cafeteria. It was nice and I got to hear all the chit chatter of negativity from the female nurses. I just tuned them out and surfed away on the wonderful world wide net. ;)

After he passed I asked her if she could still come every other week to help me as I had more than I could handle. I pay her privately now. I gave her a 5 star rating because she is patient, empathetic, listens, does a good job at what ever she is doing, and is a delight be be around. The entire staff at Paramount were pleasant and helpful and you can tell that they all enjoy their work and that they truly care about the patients. The nursing staff were excellent! While I hated for my husband to have to be there, the obvious dedication and compassion of the staff made me feel comfortable leaving him in their capable hands. My husband received speech therapy, and, in the short time that he was there, we noticed definite improvements in his speech and comprehension. Occupational therapy and physical therapy also were great--both in the services provided and the advice as to how to adapt his environment and his activities. The facility is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the dining and lounge areas were comfortable and inviting. My husband enjoyed a variety of foods and was provided with alternatives if he did not want what was on the standard menu. I'm hoping he won't expect that same variety and flexibility now that he's home. If you are in need of a rehabilitation facility, I highly recommend Paramount South Hills.
