My Mom was there a little over 30 days and from the beginning I had some minor concerns: for example, they change the WiFi password for residents, but no one can tell you what the new password is. You're sent to the security desk to ask, but no one is usually there. What made my concerns escalate and decide to remove her were 2 things: the 2nd floor (where they have people who need more attention) is often not staffed in the evening. One day I heard a man next to my Mom calling "help" for over 10 minutes. I walked up and down the hall and couldn't find anyone for him and no one was at the security desk (of course). Eventually a staff member did find him and immediately chided him instead of doing the human thing and offering him respect and help. The next thing that happened was my Mom fell (she had repeated falls while there, in part this is her own stubbornness in trying to walk unassisted when she can't, but it also speaks to their staffing problems). This time she needed to go the ER and no one from the facility called to tell me she was there. The ER eventually did, 6 hours after she was admitted. If this had been a life and death situation, I could have not been there for my Mom in her final hours. This made up my mind to listen to her saying she was unhappy there and find another facility. I've read rumors online there is also a bed bug infestation, but I can not confirm if that is true or not, I didn't see any while I was there.
