Nice beech. I had no problem finding a parking place since it was February and a Sunday morning at that. In fact I visited this beech early on a Sunday morning about 10 am. So, I was the only one here. It was cold but the Sun was out. One tip, visit this beach early in the morning between 8 am and 10 am and you will see the glare of the sun shining down on the ocean. It makes for a beautiful breath taking view. However, you have to wait until the Sun goes above the horizon to capture an unexpected, unprecedented spectacle unbelievable view for pictures. The bathrooms are to the left where I parked. They were clean. You also have to watch your speed limit getting here. I saw cops pulling people over for speeding. So, be sure to drive slow. read more

Plenty of parking and free when it's off-season. Very clean indoor restrooms with one changing room. Sheltered picnic area with grills available. Send volleyball, lots of beach during low tide. Trucks drive through the beach, but they have permits. We had a great experience there. People were very polite and respectful. We didn't hear any loud music or smell any cigarette smoke. There is a small wooden platform with an ocean view if you don't want to go into the sand. read more

Can't say enough how I love this beach. It has all the things that the OBX does but is way more intimate and less crowded. The town has been systematically replacing old worn out decking and railing boards with Trex-like boarding and railing which really dresses the walkway up a lot and cuts down on how hot the path gets. Kudos to Emerald Isle for their beach access cleanliness and attractiveness. read more

Great access to beach, paid parking. But has clean bathrooms and outdoor showers. These is nice covered decks, volleyball and a short walk to the beach. read more

This is a nice beach but the beach and the island is mainly all residential areas mainly owned by moderately wealthy seasonal northerners, who have driven prices extremely high here over the decades-- just like any nice beach in America I suppose unfortunately. 50% of the time the beach is hazardous and dangerous for children and weak swimmers. Weather conditions are also a bit unpredictable on the Carolina coast as well with the forecast changing on a dime. Other than that, it's a quiet and relaxing Beach to just sit and relax and when the water is calm it is really beautiful and enjoyable. read more

Good for boogie boards and jumping waves. Very pretty. Hard to find parking on a busy day though.

We really enjoyed this beach and had a super day here . The parking is ample , the beach access is clean and has grilling areas . I would definitely recommend . Once the seasons starts ( Memorial Day ) there are little shops that are walking distance . read more

I was physically attacked at the beach access and I am traumatized. The parking attendant Timothy tried to jump through my window because i was dropping someone off. I'm not sure why he was so aggressive because I was not hurting him at all. As a woman I felt threatened and scared for my life. It was totally unacceptable and uncalled for. He should be fired you can't treat people this way about a parking lot especially when we didn't even want to park!!!!! read more

I grew up going to this beach, renting homes in the area and now reside in Northern California. It's sad when folks use this app as an outlet to attack individuals for their own poor behavior. There is paid parking, but it's not half price and there's no haggling and holding people up. And having a fit to force their hand is a chump move, especially because Yelp is used on the Honor System, not a tool for petty childish revenge. Emerald Isle is a gorgeous and positive environment that is safe. Be aware of your surroundings everywhere you go. Be more aware of embarrassing people with entitlement issues, their more toxic than this beach. It's a magical place to rest your worries and take in the grace God has given us. It's a beautiful, clean and quiet beach. The beach wasn't crowded at the end near the police station. The distance from land to sand was short. I didn't see any lifeguards nor restrooms at this end. read more
