I got a very short notice appointment for a 60 minute cocoa massage with Lazarus who was very nice and calming to speak to, did a great job of focusing on the most tense parts of my body and the warm sheet/bed, low music, and room lighting made it a wonderful experience. I loved the scent of the cocoa oil/cream used, as well as the fruit water offered while I waited in a relaxing space for my appointment time. Well priced, and they had a small shop to purchase various lotions, makeup and skin care products in the reception area. My only complaint was massage is really the only thing available, no body wraps or nail services, so it's not a full day spa experience. This location has changed a lot in the last 5 or so years. They continue to struggle with having enough massage therapists in the event one calls off from work. I made an appointment a month ago for 4/7/2023. A week after I made the appt; I got an email advising they needed to change the appointment or therapists. SO, I agreed no problem. Fast forward to April 6th. I get a text at almost 8pm est to say the appt is being canceled. CANCELED!! This happened to me last year and now again this year. I use to really love this place because the service was consistent & good. Last minute cancellations with no contingency plan are unacceptable. Also... I asked for the manager to give me a call & it's April 10th and no call. So that says a lot. The service & the management is horrible in my opinion. I will not recommend this place if you are looking for consistent excellent customer service. read more

Took advantage of a day off to spoil myself. It's been several years since I've been to any spa so it was a real treat. Emerald Springs Spa is a clean, comfortable and welcoming place. The staff were all very helpful. Anya was my massage therapist and she was excellent. Took the time to listen to me and understand what I wanted. The cost of their services is more affordable than nearby spas but in no way does it feel inexpensive. They just started offering memberships which is very attractive to me - more massages may be in my future. read more

Got a gift certificate for here in quite a large amount. I cannot and would not ever want a massage - not my thing. Not interested in trying- absolutely no desire. I have nerve damage and it would be painful even if I was into this sort of thing. Hours also do not work for me due to my work schedule. I requested a refund so I could divide the money and give it back to all those who put into the pool to give me this "gift". Contacted them several times over a year span. Finally got an answer. They refuse to refund the money. I cannot be at the location as I work. I don't want to buy anything they have to offer. I have very sensitive skin among other things. I was told to re-gift it. Well, this gift was in a large amount and intended for MY benefit- not to be given to someone else AND I would not have this amount to spend on someone as a gift and then that someone would feel obligated to spend the same in return- I don't want to start that! I think the staff is being very unreasonable. They basically stole $200.00! I cannot and will not use the service and I am not going to give the service away. This gift was to be for my benefit and I cannot benefit from it. However, I could collect the cash and return the gift or benefit from the cash and use it for something I can really use/need. This was given at the height of COVID. And I see how things aren't being cleaned in other places as they should be. Having anyone touch my body in that way makes me feel uncomfortable and again it would cause me pain! This is a poor excuse of a business to not work with me a bit. Since I cannot use the certificate and I refuse to give it away - as it was my gift! They basically stole $200.00 for services never to be provided. Hopefully they are all so proud. This spa is a hidden gem tucked away in a shopping center. I've been getting massages here since 2007! I started seeing Donna as my therapist and continue to schedule with her to this day. The staff is always very friendly and I always feel very comfortable here. I was in a car accident 4 years ago and have serious back issues, but they can definitely work around that. Don't let bulging discs scare you away from a relaxing massage! *Don't forget to let your therapist know of any injuries* I've been happy with every service that I've received here. If you're new to massages just stick to the "signature massage" and you'll love it. The "raindrop therapy" treatment was so peaceful and relaxing and my absolute favorite is the hot stone treatment. I avoided the hot stones for so long thinking that they leave out the actual massage, but I was wrong! The hot stones combined with a massage is life changing! I seriously leave this place feeling recharged and re-centered. I've even got my husband hooked on coming with me for his own massage! :) read more

Very nice place, in an unassuming location...I would normally tend to avoid "spas" in strip mall settings, but we we coming from out of town, and had Spa Finder gift certificates...so what the hell, right. Small place, and as you walk into the spa, the thought of a tranquil waiting/staging area escapes you...don't fret, it's in the back. The staff was very nice, and very accomidating. We were offered water and tea as we awaited our sessions. I had a Thai massage, which was far more relaxing than I thought...considering I had never had one, and images of mideval torture ran through my head, I was a little nervous. The massuse Kim was very good to explain things, and made it very relaxing. Granted it was somewhat painful at times, and I left feeling quite sore...but I think that is the point. All in all, and good spa experience. If there are any negatives to report, one would be the size, and to avaoid room #5...it's closest t the lobby area, and you can hear everyone come in and chat with the front desk. read more

I visited Emerald Springs for my birthday for a quick weekend getaway with my girls. The experience was great from the moment we scheduled our appointment to the moment we walked out of the door. They were very accommodating when scheduling us. The spa was very nice and the staff was friendly & professional. Amber was my therapist and I was so relaxed I fell asleep within 5 mins of my massage. I'm not local to the area so I probably won't be able to go back but if by chance it's somehow possible, I'd definitely visit again and perhaps get more services. read more

Ashley was my therapist and she used perfect pressure which made for a therapeutic yet relaxing 90 minutes. Would highly recommend the place & Ashley. Six months ago I made reservations for a girls day. There are four of us ladies that go to the spa every year while the men stay at the campground with the children. This year we all hoped into the car and drove over to begin our tradition. One car four women. One by one the girls get greated by their masseuse and taken into there rooms to start their services. I am sitting waiting for 10 minutes and no masseuse came to get me. The receptionist came to me and told me "your masseuse is running late!" Annoyed I sat and waited another 5 minutes and went to the front where I was told they didn't have a masseuse for me and that the back up couldn't come in because her child had an ear ache. Which is totally understandable. Holding back tears I called my husband to figure out what I should do. Being carless in Hershey with only one car in the group. I ended up paying $15 to an uber driver to take me back. I was told how sorry everyone was and that I can get a complimentary service at another time. Really?!?! They knowingly brought the rest of my party in to get services because they knew if the girls knew I wasn't getting a service we would ALL leave!! I told them to give the complimentary service to one of the other girls (which never happened) because there is no way I was ever stepping foot in the building again as well as the rest of my party! Later that day the boss called me and stated " you could of stayed and relaxed while waiting" Trying to say they had no idea the girl wasn't showing up to work and she will be fired! Not good enough! They did nothing for me or the other girls. They let them pay full price and didn't discount $1. The girls were upset I wasn't there when the exited and were even more disappointed they never told them I wasn't receiving a service prior to the appointments! They made sure they texted me 4 times to make sure we were all coming but didn't have the decency to text or call and tell me she wasn't there! I am pretty much obsessed with the mind and body benefits of therapeutic massage, and my friend had never had one. So were at both ends of the client spectrum when we arrived at Emerald Springs, but both yearning to decompress. Emerald Springs Spa offers an abundance of massage therapies and specialties. Deep tissue, balancing massage, Ashiatsu, Thai massage, Reiki body and soul, cranial sacral therapy, bamboo fusion, aromatherapy massage, reflexology, hot stones and more are available. It was tough for us to decide on one, so we both chose the Signature Massage, a subtle blend of world therapies in which you can shape the areas of focus to personalize this treatment or allow our therapists to draw on their experience. (The Signature Massage price point for 60 minutes? Great price: $80.) The spa itself is both luxe and homey. It definitely feels like a luxury independent spa. We loved the beautiful environment, but the little personal touches made us feel like honored guests in an exclusive club. Instead of a numbered locker, for instance, you receive one of the letters in the Emerald Springs Spa motto: RELAX. Each of us were met by massage therapists who exuded kindness and good energy, and went in to the therapy rooms for 60 minutes of healing and bliss. I finally unclenched my jaw and shoulders for the first time in a month. Beth said that she felt relaxed, cared for and peaceful. Both of our backs, bodies and spirits felt we vastly improved. I like this place: I'll return again. The staff was friendly, professional, and the facility itself was easy to relax within. It was obvious that my masseuse cares about healing her clients. I bought a one-hour Swedish massage, making sure to tell the masseuse that I have a very high tolerance for pain since my shoulders were giving me so much trouble. My massage was productive, to say the least! I felt awesome the next day and even into today (3 days later). I think this is a great place to go if you really need to work the knots out last minute. The staff is friendly.The massage was good. It met my standards which are pretty damn high given that I have been attending spas for decades now. I look at how the place is laid out. Its very nice in there...The atmosphere over all is peaceful and tranquil. You may hear someone getting cosmetology done. But the actual massage room is very quiet. I will probably go again. Now the only thing that bothered me was how the tip was handled. Its automatically added to the bill. I personally never liked automatic gratuity of 20%. Let me start off with the staff along with the atmosphere is relaxing and nice. This was a "girls" weekend and we traveled to Hershey, PA for a spa weekend.This review is solely for the massage therapist LAURA. This is the WORST massage I have ever receive in my life and I receive massages on a regular. I scheduled a 90 min massage and a 30 min reflexology. The massage was not the best since I had to keep asking Laura not to just rub oil on me but to actually add some pressure, however the worst part is when it was time for the reflexology part (which I was fine with it incorporated into the massage), the reflexology part was non-existent. Laura literately laid her hands on my legs (not touching my feet) for 30 min. After this total waste of my time and huge disappointment I did let the therapist (Laura) know how disappointed I was and did not enjoy any of the massage but my main issue was the reflexology, and that I did not receive it. Laura insisted I did receive reflexology; however, when I gave her my definition of reflexology Laura was shocked that I actually expected her to touch my feet and the pressure points, imagine that! Laura's definition of reflexology is an "energy" base. I explained that I did not come here for an energy base massage or reflexology. I suggest the spa have bio's of the therapist and their "style" of massage so hopefully this doesn't happen to anyone else. After wasting 2hours of my time, I came back home and now I have to schedule a REAL massage, not an "energy" base one. My friend used Kristen and was EXTREMELY please, so if you are reading this review and still decide to book an appointment here, and not the Hershey spa BE SURE to use KRISTEN she is extremely nice and personable even to the person that is not her client. Kristen is also an RN, been a massage therapist and reflexology for 12/13 years. Kristen told me this and she was not even my therapist, I could not tell you anything about Laura's experience because she did not talk or say much of anything upon the introduction, go figure. read more

First I would like to say that maybe someone else would have no problem with what we experienced, but we did. We chose the Hershey location so we could spend time there afterwards. We were taken back to a tiny waiting area with almost every chair full. 8-10 people in a tiny room is never a good thing. Once we were called back we were led to another tiny room. Barely enough room for the ladies to walk around the tables. All of this can be overlooked if the "massages" were good. But they weren't. Maybe I am just ignorant, but doesn't a massage include actually massaging my muscles? That didn't happen. I was rubbed down with an astronomical amount of oil. I could feel the oil dripping off of me the entire time. Every time I thought I was finally feeling some pressure, nope, she moved on to the next thing. Then she filled her hands with oil and saturated my hair with it. Even putting my hair up afterwards, I looked so greasy that we skipped lunch in Hershey and just went home. So maybe "the signature massage" was not what we should have gotten, but that was the only option for couples. It should state that you will not be massaged, but rubbed down. Afterwards my girl told me that I should schedule an appointment to have my shoulders worked on. Ummm I thought that is what I just did?!?! We were there in the spring, but I still think about this. It wasn't just my girl, it was both of them. My fiance had the same complaint. I've had my fair share of massages (not here), but this was the least amount of pressure ever used. I feel that someone with no experience could have given us what we received. So maybe people who like a light rub down would enjoy this. But I feel like we could do that at home ourselves FOR FREE. I wanted my muscles to feel loose walking out of here, and that simply did not happen. Maybe I should have said something during it, and in hindsight I wish I would have. read more
