Her review was from 4 years ago and upgrades have been made and I can attest to management and the care that is given here big first rate. My opinion is Sherry had exaggerated expectations. A number of improvements must have been made in the last 4 years as I find it comfortable safe and secure to be here. No it is not a five-star resort but for an assisted living facility which I've been to a few this one is nice. There is the definite difficulty with so many of us in our senior years that need to feel comfortable and well cared for and a paramount necessity for feeling safe.

We received a call from Taylor to advise us that she was working on a replacement, but if she could not find one SHE WOULD COME HERSELF. They furnished us with all of their licenses and insurance to assure they were fully insured and licensed. We are glad we chose them!

Shower times are always at a different time even though they are supposed to be on a schedule. The folks living there, many complain they wait a long time just to be served, let alone waiting more time for the food to get served. It only registers at the desk with a light they need help. Well, what kind of help??? Did they fall and can't get up or they are hurt?? Sick?? or are they just needing something that is not too important. Staff has NO IDEA where they are. My friend was outside by the pool in the heat having issues and could not get up off the chair. No one was around, no cameras checking the pool area they were outside for quite a while before they got enough strength to get themself up. Staff never found my friend and never looked outside either. The call button only works 1 time. you can push it 10 times but it's only the first time you press it that it notifies the staff. The Staff does seem pretty friendly, but they need more help and BETTER management running the place. There should be at least cameras on the outside of the building especially the pool area. We are talking SENIORS after all.

Half the time it's tough as leather, doesn't taste very good, and some of the meal combinations don't make much sense. At our age, eating shouldn't feel like a chore. Many of us look forward to our meals, and it's disappointing when they're consistently poor. And then there's Scott. My friend asked him one day why he puts cabbage on just about everything. Instead of giving a respectful answer, Scott said, "Because it's delicious," in a smart-aleck sort of way. It was rude and dismissive. Why is someone who talks to residents like that still in charge of the dining room? Today I waited nearly 30 minutes for a simple sandwich. Thirty minutes. That's ridiculous. The care staff aren't much better. During an activity, a lady politely mentioned that they were being too loud. They were carrying on, laughing, and making so much noise you could hardly hear what was going on. Sounded like a bunch of cackling hyenas. Instead of showing some respect, they told her to hush up. I heard it with my own ears. What bothers me most is that many of the staff seem lazy and uninterested in helping residents. Too often they're standing around talking while residents are left waiting. We pay a lot of money to live here, and we deserve better than that. My wife and I have been here a long time. This is our home. At our age, packing up and moving isn't as simple as people think. We shouldn't have to consider leaving just because nobody wants to listen to the residents. The Executive Director needs to spend less time listening to department heads and more time listening to the people who actually live here. We're the ones paying to be here. There is a large patio and backyard with mini golf. All the meals are home cooked and they pay attention to dietary needs. There are certified caregivers on site 24/7. This home accommodates up to 6 residents so it provides tailored attention to each resident. No one is lost in the shuffle like that of a larger facility. Hospice of the Valley persists at forcing Yelp to remove my review…read more Nurse 'Laura' virtually killed my father by minimizing care, creating an 'Atmosphere of Death,' by discouraging me from taking my father to emergency room while he continued to gasp for breath. Laura mentioned that my father could 'die enroute to hospital,' and that 'doctor would remove existing fluids from his lungs in the morning.' Callously, Laura spoke about my father's imminent death issue WHILST MY FATHER WAS CONSCIOUS AND AWARE OF HER MALICIOUS,CRUEL ADVICE. I left facility shortly thereafter, as Laura discouraged fire department from removing father to hospital,subsequent to my having phoned 911 Laura is an 'Angel of Death,' and should not be a medical professional. If you love your family member, STAY AWAY FROM HOSPICE OF THE VALLEY.
