Terrible experience. Booked for two days and left early the next morning. Tenant not guest in next room fighting one hour after we arrived at 5:00pm. Not a good start. Locked our door from inside at 7:30pm. Then loud again at 1am & phone call at 3am. No way to lock your door if you go out to explore the town. Grounds unkept room some what clean. Bathroom floor had black hair all over and towels wrinkled hanging on wood rack. Bed was uncomfortable. Room was not the one we were told we were getting when booked. We were offered another night at a different time but not a refund at this time. Not a good birthday experience for my husband at all. Never staying at a Bed n breakfast again. read more

My husband and I stayed for 3 nights Oct. 2025 paid extra for breakfast and when we arrived, we were told there is no breakfast because the chef was ill. We should have been notified prior to our arrival, and I would have made other arrangements. The reason we select a bed and breakfast is for the breakfast. My guess is the kitchen is not up to code, and they are not allowed to serve food. The place is filthy, and the host is very unorganized. When we arrived the host took us to our room (no locks on the doors) and showed us our bathroom which was a separate room (we had to leave our room to use the bathroom). The bathroom light was not working and not enough towels. The host told us they would fix the light and then she went to another room and grabbed towels for us. The first time I took a shower I found a dirty hand towel hanging on the shower knob. So, I'm sure the bathroom was not properly cleaned. There was one dresser in our room, and all the drawers were full of personal junk, there was no place to put our clothes other than a hanger that was hanging on the wall. A microwave that didn't work and a small fridge that had ice build-up and needed cleaned were in our room. The downstairs was worse, looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the mansion was built, so bad that we would not sit in the living room or spend any time in the lower level. The day we left we walked around the property, and the place is overgrown with weeds. And on top of all this the host has accused us of stealing two of the nasty towels and breaking a defective window blind that was in our room. I guess they need the extra money to fix this place. We were very disappointed and do not recommend this place. read more

My husband and I recently spent two nights at Emig Mansion while visiting surrounding wineries and breweries near York. There are amazing restaurants and breweries less than 4 miles down the street. It is clear that the owners/innkeepers, Bill and Lori, are passionate about the mansion and preserving and maintaining its vast history. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by Lori who gave us a tour of the mansion along with some history of the property and the family that built it and were the namesake of the town. The grounds are beautiful and contain an active coy/goldfish pond. Spend a night engulfed in history and surrounded by antique furniture at the Emig Mansion in Emigsville. read more

This is an amazing little treasure. They have perfected this old mansion into a perfect serene setting for a bed and breakfast. Each room had its own personality and nuance. Be careful if you have rowdy kids - not exactly the place for energetic children. Their outside seating area is quaint and peaceful. You get a lot of street traffic though. The attention to detail is remarkable. Their antiques are well maintained. The rooms are rather large with a presentation of era furniture. They've done a great job. read more

Not enough words to say how amazing this place is and how incredibly hospital Bill and Lorie were. The house is decorated so beautifully but yet very comfortable and homey. The breakfasts each morning were absolutely delicious and B & L were so sweet to accommodate our hectic morning schedules. And the little afternoon goodies were a nice bonus!! They totally spoiled us. Hope to make it back out to the beautiful Pennsylvania area sometime and stay at the Emig again. read more

This place is just AMAZING!! I can't recommend it enough. The hosts bend over backward to accommodate their guests. It's a beautiful house, with fireplaces and stained glass windows. The antiques and carpets are well maintained, the rooms are charming, the grounds are beautiful and parking is right on the property. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. An example of their service: Because I sleep late my husband usually asks permission to retrieve breakfast when we stay out and eat it back in the room. This is the first time we have ever had a proprietor knocking on our door at breakfast hour, hot breakfast, orange juice, syrup, water and a huge thermos of coffee in hand!!! Everything is like this!!!! You have GOT to try this place. It's also VERY reasonably priced for this type of venue. (I don't think they realize how wonderful they are yet!!) read more

Lori and Bill are amazing hosts. Stayed at this B & B for 3 nights. They were the B & B that most of the out of town guests stayed at for a wedding that happened at The Historic Shady Lanes, stayed. Fantastic service. Great breakfast. Comfy accommodations. They also provided snacks and cider for our late night lounging after the wedding. I highly recommend this location. read more

This was our best b&b experience. Bill and Laurie are wonderful hosts and the rooms are amazingly decorated. We stayed in the master room, and it was outstanding. The other two rooms on our floor were extremely nice, as well. Everything is very well appointed, well decorated and very clean. The breakfast was yummy, and we loved the dining room. So beautiful. read more
