Viking Cruises had a large number of their passengers staying there so it was sometimes hard to get on an elevator. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay.

Only a few minutes walk to the metro and other attractions in the city, the hotel is in a great location. It was not noisy. The rooms are comfortable and plush. They use a lot of velvet. I love the fact that they give little gifts;the last time I stayed here they included a little item in a gift box with the room. There's a very small but decent "boutique gym" in the hotel; you are fine as long as no one else comes in as it's quite small. The lobby reception is great and the staff is very professional. There's always somewhere open (nearly 24 hours) as you are right by the train station, and they also have a lovely little bar/ café in the hotel; you can sit outside as well. The nice thing about Zurich is the area around the train station isn't sketchy like "Rue de Berne" near Geneva station or in front of the Gare de Lausanne. Zürich's main station is clean and well organized; the Bahnhofstrasse next to the hotel is the grandest and most opulent high end shopping street in Zurich... the really over the top part is a bit further down and it stretches over a kilometer. I really can't fault this hotel other than it's a bit expensive, but most hotels in Zurich are. For the price, you are saving on a cab or extra train ticket as you literally can hop right onto the train across the street and get to the airport or almost anywhere in Switzerland and abroad. All from the incredible Zürich train station. So this is a wonderful stop to take and a hotel for travelers looking for a peaceful respite without venturing far from the station.

The tram/train station to take you around Zurich are less than an 8 minute walk and you have multiple tram/train station options. Konstantin was a pleasure to work with and always made sure we were taken care of during our trip. Only thing I wish they had was a fitness are, but I was also on vacation. So who really cares about working out during vacation?

Our room was very small, as is the norm, but was well laid out. You could tell they are making the smartest use of space possible, as every single inch of square footage served a purpose. The bed was soft and comfortable, with plenty of pillows and high quality linens. The shower was a glass box right in the middle of the room. You could leave the curtains open or not, but note that this might not be the best option if you are sharing a room with friends or family who want privacy. The shower was equipped with a very nice and powerful rainfall showerhead that proved to be our favorite shower in our entire trip to Europe. The room had funky touches like dimmable lights and an electric amp in the room if you wanted to borrow an electric guitar from the front desk! The room didn't have a lot of counter space or a closet, but it worked great for a two night stay. The windows opened fully as well, which was nice for some fresh air. Our room was located on the same floor as the hotel's movie lounge, which was so incredibly well done! Every night, movies are shown on their big screen. A posted schedule is on the door. Each floor also has a complimentary galley area with hot tea and coffee available 24/7. From the art deco architecture to the very comfortable rooms, I loved everything about the Ruby Mimi Hotel. This is one of Zurich's gems.
