When we asked for them and the poached eggs came out the yolks were hard and dry. My meal came with blackened charcoal sausages with ends that crumbled into ash when I touched them, and when I mentioned it to the waitress she said "that's how they are supposed to be. Pointing to the sausages on my partners breakfast which were cooked properly, i.e. not black, she said that they just hadn't been cooked as long...well, duh. My toast looked soggy & uncooked on the top so I turned it over to find more burnt blackness. I'm not sure if there is a new chef or they were just having a bad day, but unfortunately it was the worst meal I've had in years.

Bacon and eggs were just that with one piece of sourdough toast, although interestingly it wasn't rasher bacon, just 3 pieces of eye bacon. While drinking our tea two other customers came in and ordered drinks, one came back and asked for ice cream to be added, he refused cause it's not the recipe, the girl left her drink behind and walked away. When we were about to leave I tried to speak to him about being more flexible with peoples orders, he arrogantly responded, "are you trying to tell me how to run my business" I said no, I'm trying to help you understand peoples dietary needs. But he refused to take any response and said to us to "I do t care and you can go somewhere else. And we did. Never to return to shingle inn at strathpine.
