Woof. If I could give this business zero stars I would.
My husband and I were looking to completely gut and renovate our kitchen. We like to support local business and called Empire to make an appointment. First red flag: we were initially scheduled to meet with Cindy at 10:00 a.m. She called around 8:00 a.m., saying we had been double booked and that we would either need to be bumped to 2:00 p.m., or reschedule for another day. Not a huge deal, but as my husband and I both work during the day, it was inconvenient.
Cindy arrived promptly, which was probably the most pleasant thing about the entire interaction. She quickly took the dimensions of the kitchen as I explained my vision. In an adjacent room, there is a closet that needed to become a pantry leading to the kitchen. The closet has pocket doors, and only one door can be open at a time; the other door must necessarily be closed. Cindy opened one of the doors with a SLAM, getting the other door incredibly jammed. I could not pry it open, and she simply walked out of the room with a "Whoops!" I was absolutely shocked how hard she was on things in a complete stranger's home.
She left, saying that I would get a call back in a week. That was in June, and it is now September 15. I still haven't gotten a call back. I would imagine they're not hard up for work if they can't be bothered to call a potential client back, but with the way Cindy treated my home I'd be shocked to learn of any happy, satisfied customers. Having once entertained doing business with Empire, I've learned my lesson. I look forward to never working with Empire and encouraging others to do the same. read more
