Unfortunately, this visit was extremely disappointing. After more than 5 hours, the foiling process still wasn't complete. While I understood my student was learning, there appeared to be very little instructor guidance. When I expressed concerns about the length of the appointment the instructor was dismissive and simply offered to rinse out the bleach and let me leave. I remained there beyond 6 hours and past closing. I was the last customer there. My toner was processed for only a few minutes, and my conditioning treatment and haircut were not completed. The instructor approved the work, and I was sent to pay with soaking wet hair. When I questioned why the remaining services couldn't be completed and voiced my unhappiness, the instructor was quick to threaten to call the police if I did not pay. The school's Director informed me I was not welcome back and stated that customers should expect appointments to last 7.5+ hours. The final result left me with uneven, yellow hair that did not resemble what we discussed. My roots were not properly blended, and I now need to spend over $300 to correct the color. Empire Beauty School demonstrated poor instructor oversight, poor communication, and a lack any sense of accountability.

While the staff does not act professional and still work, but they will kick students out of the school for not punching in and out of lunch accidentally. Empire said it is there policy and they are trying to get the students ready for the real world. Something is very backwards. I am told they are just accusations when students have seen the proof. Empire doesn't even investigate the employees. They sit there and just say it is accusations.

I booked an appointment weeks in advance for a hairstyle and even rearranged my work schedule--taking a half-day--to travel nearly an hour for the service. Two days before the appointment, Empire called to confirm, so I assumed everything was in order. When I arrived, however, I was abruptly told that my assigned student stylist had simply not shown up and had not called. Even worse, the staff informed me there was no backup and admitted they "didn't have time" to notify me. That lack of courtesy would have saved me significant travel time and inconvenience. This was, without question, one of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever had in a business setting. A no-call, no-show in any real workplace is grounds for immediate dismissal. If students are not held to basic professional standards--like notifying the school when they are absent--they leave ill-prepared for employment. This reflects poorly not only on the individual student but on the administration responsible for training and supervising them. Sadly, this was not an isolated incident. During my earlier visit, another customer shared that the exact same thing had happened to her: she arrived for a scheduled appointment only to discover her student stylist hadn't shown up. If you're a prospective student considering investing your money here, I urge you to think carefully. A school's reputation matters, and if employers see patterns of unprofessional behavior from graduates, it affects everyone--especially the students who are dedicated and responsible. To the Empire administration: I truly hope you address these issues. Your students--and your customers--deserve a higher standard of professionalism than what I experienced.
