Despite providing them with a signed document confirming that my samples were received, I have been met with nothing but silence and evasiveness from their staff. No one will speak to me, no one will address my concerns, and it feels as if my urgent health matters are being dismissed. This is unacceptable for a facility that claims to prioritize patient care. This was absolutely the worst and most unprofessional customer service experience I've ever had. I paid my bill while it was still being processed, yet they still sent it to collections only one month after the service date. As a result, I ended up paying the collection agency as well, and I have been trying to get my money refunded for over seven months with no resolution. It honestly feels like this is how they make money. Multiple calls to customer service have accomplished nothing, and no one seems willing to help or take responsibility. I am a physician and tried to send a stat lab test to them. For literally 8 hours I called every 1-2 hours and was told the test would be resulted in an hour and every time, nothing happened. They then stopped answering their phones or responding to voice mails. Something is very wrong there and in the healthcare diagnostic testing industry. Perhaps margins are too small because of reimbursement cuts, but that's really no excuse for providing false info or gross negligence. read more

Lab is a total scam. Was sent a bill a few days ago, Jan 2 2025 from a doctors appointment in 2022 and they said I couldn't use my health insurance on it because I needed to file a claim 3-6 months within the visit date but I wasn't informed about my bill until over two years later. And they also said they sent the first bill on May of 2024 so even if I did receive the first bill, which I didn't, I wouldn't have been able to file a claim for my insurance to cover it. They also said that they do not accept health insurance from urgent cares so you must let them know your health insurance information personally. They do not ask for it from a third party, because they want out of pocket money. THEY ALSO SENT MY BILL TO COLLECTIONS SO MY CREDIT IS GOING TO GET RUINED AND I AM BARELY STARTING MY LIFE AS A YOUNG ADULT. IVE NEVER EVEN HAD A CREDIT CARD YET AND THEY ARE RUINING MY CREDIT SCORE. read more

This lab should be shut down. It's predatory and obscenely overpriced. They tried to charge over $6k to test my child for the flu, which should not be legal anywhere, and tried to make it sound like they were doing me a favor by only charging me a little over $1200 after insurance and (of course) offering to set up a payment plan. All this AFTER the doctor's office said I shouldn't pay anything, because they were in network. (They are not in network.) I think this lab has a multi-tier scam: * Telling doctors offices that they are in network when they are not, so doctors use them * Charging ridiculously high prices for simple tests * Making almost all of their profit by putting as many customers as possible on payment plans. They were giving out covid tests in and dirty old Warehouse in Dumbo at 65 Jay street in BKLN. They did not show me the fresh materials sealed they just stuck the swap in my nose and 2 days later I had Covid!! This was on Jan 3 2022 and still no results! They sent a text to a link to results but the link does not work! I spoke to a manager called Kahn another called Tawhiv none were able to help. I also spoke to Moizzah the pharmacist who could not help either at 718 4841500. When I returned to make a complaint they were gone and left some signs on the door. My bloodwork was assigned to this lab for the first time but I can't say that my first interaction with them was positive. There's a clear problem with their billing process, if you research Google you'll find a lot of people encountering similar problems. I was sent the bill for one single lab which amounted to $120; however, total at the end strangely skyrocketed to almost $1500. This was also the first notice that I've gotten for the bill, yet the bill claims this is "my final warning". Panic much...? They do accept a lot of different health insurances, mine of course was accepted so I had to call their office to sort it out. The man who answered seemed kind of tired, probably because he gets multiple calls like mine. But he told me to ignore any additional bills. Problem was solved---hopefully. This lab is absolutely horrible! If it was my choice, I would never use them. I called ten times to get my blood work results. They told me that the results were on the patient portal, and they were not. I asked them to email me my results in an encrypted email, and was told that they can't and that is not their procedure. Quest, a nationally renowned lab, sends blood work results via email, but this mom and pop lab cannot??? If there was a negative star rating, I would give it to them. I paid out of pocket for a PCR test needed for work- symptomatic of Covid and positive test in my household- went on Thursday and the pharmacy said it is a 4 to 5 day turnaround.. day 5 and yet to receive the results.. my symptoms have already decreased and now I am back to work and do not qualify for Covid sick leave because I cannot prove I took a PCR test to show I have had the virus and at home testing is not acceptable... horrible that my pharmacy still deals with this lab and has the audacity to charge people out of pocket for the testing! Get it together if you cannot handle the amount of test coming in stop accepting them from providers you work with! Definitely will report to the BBB as paying for a test I should be getting it back in the time frame I was told. read more

I took a PCR test at a pop up testing tent in MIami nearly 2 weeks ago and have no results. They charged me $20 for a rapid, for which i did get results later the same day. I provided my insurance information to them. Results should have been ready in 3 days. It will be 2 weeks tomorrow. I'll never use them again. read more

U don't even deserve 1 star cuz u never trained your franchise well (the one on 763 56st Brooklyn) the staffs there are terrible & unprofessional. About 9 months ago, the front desk let me performed a covid test kit by myself outside the lab. Yes she shut me out the door! ALSO, the nurse who did the blood draw for me said:" don't move, if u move, the needle will explode your vessel" in a very inpatient tone. Of cuz I know that since I've been done since I was a kid. THIRD, the nurse & front desk warm me must turn off the urine container tightly when I was collecting my urine. They just shout out loud in front of all patients!!!! So I double check make sure it's dry & no leaking and hand it over to the nurse. The nurse shout again " your urine is leaking!!!" Omg i was like I can't tolerate anymore!! The first time I went it was almost two weeks before I got back my PCR results. A few months ago my husband had a test and it was turned around in two or three days so I went myself and it's been 4 days. They tell you you can get results faster if you fill out an online form or call the lab. The lab doesn't answer and they don't give you sufficient information to fill out the form. No response to email either. I don't trust these people and I am not going to trust the result whenever they get around to providing it. Give this place a miss. It could be a scam. read more

This lab makes a claim that you will get your COVID result the same day if the test administered before 11:30 AM, for a $59 fee. In my case, they did not live up to that guarantee, but I requested a full refund and they issued it, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. read more

I called and asked for a simple reference range on fasting glucose testing for this lab. The person who answered refused to give me their labs reference range. I explained the test results they originally provided me only had a non fasting results and it should have been fasting. I just needed the reference range. They refused again and told me to have my doctor call them and they would only give it to them. Keep in mind, I was not asking for my results. Just the labs reference range. But right after I found out what my doctor did I ask for pricing estimation and secretary give me the information for local reprecentative from Empire City lab, I call her and she inshure me the my portion not exceed $250. Now when I recived the first portion of the bill I call my inshurence asking how much lab charge for blood test it blow my mine $17,773.02.... Hit or miss at best. Family went to a local Covid testing site that was using Empire City Labs behind the scenes to process the samples. Site ran both Rapid and PCR tests on everyone. Rapid test results were received promptly, but only received the PCR results for 1 of the 3. Over a week later, still trying to figure out what happened to the 2 missing PCR results. As mentioned by others, almost impossible to get someone live to speak to. Left voice mails and sent emails. Finally spoke to a rep on the 3rd (hint hit '0' instead of '6' to get into a higher priority queue). Took the info on the missing results and email addresses to use. Said they would be emailed within the hour. Needless to say, still no sign of them. Want the official PCR results to show proof of infection one tested + on the rapid and one of the PCR that was returned. read more

Avoid this place as if your health depended on it! ... Went there Friday for a Covid test. Was told results would be sent via email and text within two days. Received no results today, Sunday. Called, no live person to speak with, and was prompted to recieve a callback. Three hours later, no callback, and went to the the clinic. One 17 year old boy (I asked him his age) was processing the long line of people waiting outside in the cold. He told me the results were not available. Asked some basic questions to which he couldn't answer. Realized this 17 year old boy was / is not equipped for the position, asked him what my email address is and was told it isn't in their database. Shocked! It had to be included on the application upon my being tested. Several other basic questions and he then said "Have a nice day". I stated that would be difficult when this lab is putting my health at risk. ... Walked two blacks, realized the 17 year old boy did not return my I.D. Went back, he pulled my I.D out a draw, asked why he didn't text me about not returning my I.D. and recieved another "Have a nice day" response. No simple apology or acceptance of reponsibilty. ...
