As a transplant recipient, I must take a handful of medications twice a day. Other drugs are contraindicated, as they can raise or lower the dosage of my immunosuppressives. Thus, I must be very careful when I need pain relief. So, I called my insurance company and asked if they would cover acupuncture. I was told that they would, but ONLY if the practitioner was an MD. Then, I was given a list of such doctors. Luck was with me when I chose Empire Medicine, and Drs. Zheng, Li, and Lu. At my first appointment, I had a meeting with Dr. Zheng, to discuss my physical condition and medications. I was then led into a room for my first acupuncture treatment. Most people are amazed when I tell them that that first treatment took away all the pain in my osteoarthritic thumbs and most of the pain in my knees - which I had not been able to relieve, no matter how many braces I had tried! TALK ABOUT A SURPRISE - I, myself, could hardly believe this loss of constant pain!!! Needless to say, I have been back weekly ever since, and the acupuncture continues to be of great help - WITH NO SIDE EFFECTS or any interaction with my medications! My knees had previously been treated with sodium hyaluronate shots, which basically restore the synovial fluid among the bones in the knees, that has worn away with time. As the last set of shots was last May and I was supposed to have them again in 6 months, I was really overdue. How marvelous when I discovered that Dr. Zheng could give me these shots! AND without the 2 month wait for approval from Medicare, as I had had to wait through with my orthopedic surgeon! Dr. Zheng uses a computer to guide the shots into the right place in each knee, and the shots (the first in a series of three in each knee) immediately gave me new knees!!! This was not the case last year, when I had 2 series of shots, which only helped slightly. Can you imagine how blessed and lucky I feel to have found Empire Medicine and Drs. Zheng, Li, and Lu? They relieve my pain WITHOUT DRUGS! These doctors are so wonderful and knowledgeable! Also, the massage therapist, Jagpreet, is a gem! Everyone at Empire Medicine is so kind and helpful, everything is immaculately clean and inviting, and the atmosphere is very quiet and restful, right down to the calming, relaxing music. I can't wait to go each week! I call Empire Medicine my Miracle Place, where I have received such miraculous care! I can't envision how I got on before I found Empire Medicine. read more

I was very happy to find a great acupuncturist that accepts my insurance.I have been to an acupuncturist before but this is so much better, When you arrive at their office there is a very nice parking lot behind their building so parking isn't a problem. Then when you enter the office you will see a very clean office and within a few minutes you will be in a room for your treatment,I am dealing with several different health issues and I am thrilled with my results.I had hand tremors that were so bad that I was having a hard time writing, My hands now are so much better that I could cry.Then I have Neuropathy and my toes started to go numb, now my toes have most of their feeling back. I could only share my great experiences with you but if your tired of taking pills that aren't working and being sent from one specialist to another, do something nice for yourself and give this a try..remember we only have one life and let's make it a good one. read more

I started seeing Dr. Li about a month ago for pain when walking. I had a Lisfranc fracture in my left foot almost a year ago, and for me, it has been quite debilitating. I am a teacher and on my feet all day. Usually I am limping by the end of the school day- not fun. Since being treated about twice a week for a month, I have had much relief from the pain. The office is immaculate, and I am always seen on time if not earlier. The needles do not hurt and a side benefit- for some reason, within 5 minutes, I am asleep. I normally have a lovely 30 minute power nap. Dr. Li accepts my insurance- I was surprised to learn that many insurance companies do pay for this treatment. I highly recommend this friendly facility if you are considering acupuncture. My only regret is that I didn't go sooner. read more

I have been receiving acupuncture treatments from Dr. Li and Dr. Zheng periodically for several years for various medical problems. I had to return to them recently due to unmanageable pain levels. Their medical facility is clean, their staff are professional and both doctors are extremely knowledgeable, helpful and have been very successful with treating my current ailments. Even after only one treatment, my pain levels have decreased enough to be able to function more normally. I am very thankful for their assistance and I highly recommend their services to all who are willing to try an alternative form of treatment that is far better than relying on medications. I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH POSITIVES! Went in on recommendations from friends..menopausal changes/hormones were causing weight loss, horrid insomnia which caused sleep deprivation. Turned into panic & anxiety attacks! No history of this! Unbearable..had multiple UTI and female atrophy. My biological & biochemical systems were out of control & crashed. I was literally bed ridden. Without these Doctors & their caring staff, I would have lost my mind. I was not an Eastern Medicine believer... Nor am I into other non traditional practices in general.
