Like most folks, my wife and I were looking to lower our monthly expenses. One big step toward that goal was to look at our mortgages. I am a local Realtor and just closed on a transaction for my clients who were first time home buyers. They used Chris for their financing and it couldn't have gone any smoother. During any transaction, I typically find myself running interference for my buyers and frequently calling or emailing the lender to make sure everything is on track - do they need anything from my clients; when will the appraisal be ordered; how are things progressing; is everything on schedule; when will loan docs be ready, etc. Sales to first time buyers normally require a lot of hand holding as we walk them through the entire process. My clients were happy with their experience and the service they received from Chris and the other staff. I only checked in with Chris a few times during the loan process and each time he either answered immediately or returned my call very quickly. Other times, he simply emailed or texted me with quick updates, etc. US Mortgage had everything finalized so quickly, that they even offered my clients the option of closing a week early if they and the seller wanted to. Was not at all impressed with the level of customer is service. Was referred by a realtor to determine the feasibility of qualifying for an additional mortgage. However, instead of answering my questions, was required to complete an online application which took about eight hours to complete, including downloading and scanning financial documents. Did not receive any reply for several weeks. After contacting them again, was asked for additional information which I declined to provide. Turns out they really didn't need more documentation and could have answered my question(s) during the initial phone call. Waste of time. read more
