Empire State Building in the distance
    Sarah W.

We strolled around Manhattan and spied the Empire State Building at various points from our street level and it was lovely. Beautiful example of Art Deco architecture and I kept picturing King Kong in my imagination. Will plan to see it up close during my next visit to NY since we were time-limited this trip.

Loved the Art Deco style and the professionalism of all employees plus the building is immaculate. If you haven't been up to the 86 floor it's a must, the views of the city are 360 degrees and you can see for miles. It's so amazing just realizing how much the world has changed in the 90 years this building has been in existence. The 102 floor is another level to experience with unobstructed views also.

My company recently did a group tour of the Empire State Building and it was fantastic! I've lived in or near NYC for years, but have never done the tour and I highly recommend it. First off, Renita, our guide was incredible. She's been there for years and does her job unbelievably! You can really tell she loves her job and the people around her. She is warm, personable, & very knowledgeable. If I did not know any better, I would think she was there when it was built. We also met Hugo and he was amazing as well. I loved the tour so much, I would go back in the spring. If you're planning a trip to NYC, go see Renita and Hugo on this guided tour. You will love it!

It was a great trip to NY in 2023 and we stopped by the Empire State Building; the tickets are on the pricy side and it's gets busy, but it's a great bird eye view of NYC and has a lot of history. We spent a few hours here form lines to the tour and checking out the views. People were coughing up all over the place which was disappointing as it was way too crowded (again it's a touristy area). Overall a good experience for a must do item at least once while in NYC

I personally thought this was overrated. The views were wonderful, once I finally got up to the top floor, but all the museum and walk through picture "opportunities" were too much for me. There was nobody here on a Sunday afternoon. No lines. Barely anyone on the rooftop. I was in and out of there in about 30 minutes.

While we were in New York City we visited one of the most famous buildings in town, none other than The Empire State Building! What else can be said that hasn't already been said about this iconic landmark. The views are stunning regardless of whether you stay on the 80th floor or you venture up to the very top! I will say for the record that it's definitely worth the extra money to see the city from the top of the amazing skyscraper!

Um, of COURSE the Empire State Building was Worth the visit. Amazing views. It is crowded up there, we took the stairs from floor 80-86. Not for the weak... I'll opt for the elevator next time haha.

This is definitely a touristy thing to do. It has changed much over the last 20 years since I was first here. There could be a long wait if you're waiting for an elevator. They do have a stairs option which we took. It was only the last six floors to the observation deck. They have a lot of history now inside and things for you to look at. The ticket prices are quite expensive. Of course, if you never done this, this is the thing to do. Not sure we would be back for the price of the tickets. Try them for yourself.

It's been over two decades since I took my last ride up the Empire State Building but my first that I went to floor 102...don't. Trust me you want the open air of 86, don't do both. 102 is the least impressive and it's closed in. If you want to say youve been that high right under the buildings antenna go for it but you'll regret spending the money for it. Overall this is a great one time thing to do, I did it this second time because my daughter has never been and she loved it. It's literally a journey, take your time in the museum and look at and through everything, you'll find a surprise or two. Enough said.

They now have a Starbucks roastery which is awesome on the first flower But you go for the view or other side of manhattan Can get very windy up there but this iconic art deco building is a must tourist stop

The Empire State Building located in New York is one of the most popular attractions to see in New York. I have been here during the night and daytime. I feel like it is a lot fewer people for the night but I love the city lights. During the daytime, especially in the morning, there are a ton of people enjoying the multiple places you can visit. I love all the history facts that are given here and I think it is worth seeing from young to old!

Gorgeous views, iconic experience. So glad to have gone but SUPER duper expensive (especially to go up to floor 106) but when in NYC... Only note is you have to take 3 different elevators to go all the way up and the signage is not super clear, so my tip is save a little time and just ask someone - there are plenty of people working and they're super kind and helpful

The OG observation deck in NYC located at the Empire State Building offers good views of the city. Bought tickets online a week ahead. Went here on a sunny afternoon. Before reaching the 86th floor, you'll pass by different exhibits. One of these is the time when it was being constructed. Statues of iron workers and masons are on display where you can take your pictures. Another is its opening day. There's an exhibit on King Kong, replica of Otis elevator, clips/montage of different films, comics, TV shows where the Empire State Building was featured. The observation deck on the 86th floor is open air. However, there's a fence that can obstruct the panoramic view. The observatory on the 102nd floor is glass encased (not open air) and requires a different ticket (it's more expensive to get there). I do not think it's worth going to the 102nd floor. There's a gift shop in this art deco building. Though Summit One Vanderbilt is my favorite, the Empire State Building definitely is worth visiting as it is an iconic building in NYC.

Entry to the top is through the "Observation Deck" entrance on the north side of the building (on W 50th St). Tickets were provided by our group, apparently one per family. After it got scanned, we went up the stairs to the mezzanine level and into an enclosed area. This area had a wide screen similar in size to the Immersive Theater in the Statue of Liberty Museum. A 5-minute film was shown summarizing 30 Rock's history, glitz and glamor. It culminated with a Christmas segment accompanied by a literal shower of snowflakes on us from the ceiling. "Now that's immersive," I thought. The door at the other end opened. We continued on until we entered the Welcome Gallery. At the far end, a staff member stood before a hall of elevators that would take us to the 67th floor. To our left was a miniature model of Rockefeller Center with light show and music. We were then directed a few at a time by the staff member to a specified elevator. Inside the elevator, an audio/visual material played from the ceiling almost like a fanfare to what was coming next. At the 67th floor, a staff member directed us to head right. I took in the view of the city skyline through the windows. Taking pictures was difficult due to limited field of view behind the walls. The unobstructed balcony view would be found on the 69th and 70th floors. Wife and Son weren't comfortable with heights so they hung out in the Weather Room. I was similarly acrophobic but that didn't stop me from taking the escalator to the 69th. After I got off the escalator, I saw the Beam to my right. Situated entirely on the deck and a maximum elevation of 10 feet from the floor, it didn't look as scary as the people sitting on it made it out to be. My attention quickly turned towards the balcony. From left to right as far as the eye could see, the unobstructed view was overwhelming. Reigning in my acrophobia - which was increasing the longer I remained at the Top - took effort. I proceeded to take pictures of the skyline. The 70th floor above me was accessible by stairs. The view was better. The Beam looked a lot less scary from the 70th floor. As I approached the windows, my breaths got slower and heavier. Taking each picture was laborious because the sunlight made it difficult to see my phone while managing the acrophobia at the same time. Yet I got through it and promptly went down. The experience at the Top of the Rock was much more enjoyable than that at the Empire State Building (ESB) back in Sep 2008. The wait line was much shorter (45 minutes alone just waiting for the elevator to get on top of the ESB). Top of the Rock didn't feel rushed. It offers a lot more space and more time to take it all in. I definitely recommend this place. If I ever return to New York City, I would like to try a different skyscraper (definitely not the ESB) for the next view from the top.

While there is an option to purchase tickets with NYC discount online - ( you put your zipcode in)- this somehow isn't possible at the ticket kiosks on-site as well as at their "welcome desk". Seems ridiculous in this day and age, honestly. I happened to be there in person but with a phone on very low charge ( it died as I was talking with staff person). I was directed to the welcome desk to speak with a manager to see about purchasing my tickets, however soon discovered it wasn't possible because of the way their system is set up. Tourist priority, I guess. However I then asked about charging my phone ( there was a wall outlet less than 20 feet away ), so that I could just complete the purchase online, as they seem to be encouraging NYC residents to do. This manager said it wasn't possible and that she was following policy- which I get- however in this instance, I wasn't just a random person walking up to charge my phone and walk away. This was literally so I could go on their website to purchase a ticket. She basically turned away a customer ( or would be customer at this point ) because she couldn't discern that even policy withstanding this was an earnest customer ask that would have resulted in their favor regarding not only a ticket for that day but any future tickets where I'd bring family, friends to in the coming summer months. When she mentioned using outlets in Grand Central Station to charge my phone and come back- I told her she was misinformed as there are no public outlets as GC Terminal. Anyway, I'm sure the observatory is nice, but this level of customer service left me feeling like it might not be be worth the trouble as a NYer and leave it to the tourists to enjoy. Why not make it possible to put in your zipcode at the kiosk when purchasing tickets? Really.‍

Historically speaking I had never been to the Queens Theatre before the other night when I caught…read morethe NYC appearance by the band Rolling Quartz. The band had embarked on their North American tour from their native South Korea. Since I had never seen the band before as well, the adventure to a new space for me made the whole thing more interesting to me. Now I travel via the MTA, and from Bay Ridge this event space is a bit of a hike. It's the R train to the N to the 7 to a fairly decent walk. Those who are driving or taking an Uber might have a little better trek experience than I did but that being said once I made it past the famed Unisphere and over to New York State Pavilion, it was time to go into the Queens Theatre. When I arrived there were already about 100 attendees lined up because the band was doing all sorts of VIP things with them. A cool part of the agenda for sure. Inside the theatre is a spacious lobby area with seating all around near the windows. There are concessions there but I only saw drinks being sold when I looked. There was a small merchandise table for the band set up and I imagine that when other shows happen here this will be their space as well. Right off the bat I connected to a complimentary WiFi signal which was good but seemed to go on and off during the course of the performance. Once I was in the actual performance space I was quite impressed. The stage is sizable which was great because this was a five member band with a full backline and the seats were oh so comfortable. Yes this was a Rock Show and people would likely be standing throughout the performance but when it was time to sit you could do so in comfort. I positioned myself in the eighth or so row on the aisle since I needed to shoot photographs and I was happy to report that there were no bad sightlines in the theater. The sound was also clear and impressive which was partially a testimony to the bands team on the tour. While I didn't get to explore the venue all that much outside of the show, I did see one of the spacious side rooms which I guess they do talks in or smaller events. The band has set up their meet and greets there so it was in and out in terms of time to examine. There was a complimentary WiFi that I did find to be spotty at times but I feel this was based on the amount of people choosing to live stream the show. There were obviously restrooms and while I can only speak for the men's facility it was quite clean which is always a pleasant find. Overall this was a great experience for me but I cannot fathom when and if I might make a return based on the logistics and scarcity of what most interests me happening here. I will be keeping tabs on their calendar for good measure just in case and maybe some other localized Hard Rock bands can look into it or even local promoters who wish to do something that is no too crazy.

This was my first visit to the Queens Theater. I secured tickets through the library cultural pass…read more We went to watch "Sugar Skull - A Dia de Muertos Musical Adventure." We had a hard time finding parking as the show was about to start and the park is always busy. There were two small lots nearby that were full. Upon entering check in was easy. They had a small concession stand. The seating was great with no obstructed views. The play itself was kid friendly and told the meaning and traditions of the special day. It was very informative and entertaining. I enjoyed the different styles of dances performed, the colorful outfits, the creative scenery (which was simple but effective). I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and look forward to visiting again.
