Not much variety for shopping. If you are looking for Anerican Eagle, Hollister type places you will need to drive to Topeka or Wichita or even KC. There is a Wal-Mart but no Target. The bars are a lot of fun thow. Emporia State will give you a great education and the sport events are a tradition. Watching the Lady Hornets and Hornets play basketball are so much fun!! Would not recommend this college for people who have low body temperatures. It will cause…read morehypothermia. It's ridiculously cold in the buildings. Someone with a lower body temperature would need to wear fall clothes during spring and summer seasons here. They would also need to wear very thick winter clothes during fall and winter seasons here, too. Compared to this college, Emporia State University has better A/C temperatures that are not obnoxious. Emporia State University has all buildings being properly maintained. Flint Hills Technical College has a smaller building that is poorly maintained with a bug and mold problem. There's even moldy food in vending machines at Flint Hills Techical College. It shows this college doesn't care about food poisoning and auditors are not doing their jobs to keep students from being sick due to horrible sanitary standards. Tutoring options are better at Emporia State University for students with disabilities. There are more walkable sidewalks at Emporia State University than Flint Hills Technical College for disabled students using wheelchairs that do not want to get in vehicles' way. The U.S.'s ruthless leaders are making American schools increasingly less safe every year. Compared to the U.S., other countries treat citizens and prisoners much better. Those other countries have better social mobility, social safety nets, workplace conditions, rehabilitation for prisoners, and community solidarity. The U.S. has become a corporatized class warfare hellhole. So, you have minion police keeping people scared in American schools like Flint Hills Technical College. People controlling American colleges like Flint Hills Technical College are promoting paranoia about security and safety for students. It is a reflection of America declining while other countries are doing much better at actually keeping students safe by not mistreating citizens and prisoners for enriching a select few corporate billionaires. I feel bad for foreign students coming to America. The American dream is a myth.
