I was a member at Anytime Fitness for over a year. The equipment is limited. They don't have a…read moresauna or a pool. Classes cost $10-15 per class, which are free at other gyms. They also try to upsell you punch cards and 8 week programs. The staff leaves pretty early and the after hours attendance is minimal but often sketchy. I also had a minor but dishonest billing issue when I canceled, as others did in these reviews. They also have an obviously fake review on here, which confirms my feeling of dishonesty. Dishonest billing is pretty common in gyms, so I guess that is pretty standard. Gold gyms is better if you want to lift weights, as they have a better selection and a pool/sauna/free classes. Planet fitness is better value if you just want the exercises equipment and don't need squat or beach free weights.

When I alerted management to unauthorized charges on my credit card, I was told in corporate robot speak that I could only challenge those charges through their app and that I would most likely not be refunded. When I asked for extra help in going through the system I got a literal eye roll from the manager. When I called Gold's corporate for billing help, I was told that this location is a franchise and that there was noting they could do. Now I'm stuck in a black hole billing loop; created by design, of course. It's not how friendships begin that you know the quality of a person or organization, but how they end and what level of integrity a person or entity operates in. The workers at this gym are not bad people, but they are purposely set-up and powerless automatons with no power to help you or humanize the situation when trouble happens. This place was a mid place to work-out in as gyms go--good for Burlington, but this billing dispute has been such a distasteful experience that I can not recommend and warn you and your wallet to stay away because there is no one there to help you when they start taking a little extra from you without you noticing it. Corporate integrity is so hard to come by these days ain't it?

I enjoyed my time off from the grind by spending time with DEAR friends and Dropping In at a quality CrossFit gym like CrossFit Simplicity. The drop in process was great (and I got a shirt). The owner, Daniel, was professional and helpful. I worked out with the community 4x. This included one 5:30pm, 2 5:30am and one partner WOD. It was a great way to stay on track. The gym is spacious, the equipment organized and clean. The coaches were excellent. There is a shower with towels as well towels for the million burpees we did that week!!!! You know that nervous feeling you get during the partner work out? Not a problem here! My partner was accommodating and supportive of the "Old Man". CrossFit Simplicity is well run gym and very inviting. When I come to visit my friends, knowing CrossFit Simplicity is a 17 min drive from Graham to Burlington, makes visiting a lot more convenient. Let me tell you, I've never tried crossfit before and I was a little bit intimidated by everything at first- like everybody looks so professional, lifts crazy amount of weights, does all different sort of workout, and here I am, little Asian girl who does not know what she's doing haha. Well, don't you worry! Daniel, Maryann and Felicia are the best. They take their time to teach you and make sure you are doing everything right. I am like a crossfit dummy, so everything is still so new to me, but they've been so patient with me and I love the fact that they encourage and motivate everybody like non stop! I've been going to 5:30am class everyday and I absolutely love it. I really love the vibe here- everybody is so friendly, they all work so hard and you know just by looking at them, you want to be like them! Ah, they are just my inspiration!!!
