"Studio X deserves so much love"…read more I'm making a review here because there simply isn't enough! This is a spot that I have gone to multiple times!!! The instructors at this studio are so nice and only bring the most positive vibes to classes. The instructors are also so hands on and supportive of each student that comes in through those doors to dance. Never had I had an experience that felt like I was not good enough or able to do something. My deepest respect goes to instructors Adrienne and GiGi, book with these ladies and I promise you nothing but an amazing experience. Classes go from $25 each and package deals for the student that wants to do more. Thank you studio X for providing a clean proper environment that focuses on the art of pole no matter what size color and age.

I've been on and off the pole for about 4 years, and wanted to start up again. I was able to take advantage of a special promotion they had going on- which is the 2 week unlimited class pass (except for the aerial classes) for $50. A single class is $20, and knowing that I would probably get hooked, I was able to contact the studio and have the $20 class go toward my $50 2 week unlimited class pass granted that I wanted to keep coming back. In addition to the instructors & great promo I was able to get, the other gals that take classes at Studio X are super sweet as well. I would highly recommend this studio to anyone wanting to try/return back to pole.

Vertical Tease Durham - From Business Website

Despite his admirable and well-intentioned outlook, I couldn't wait to dance, swing, and work my way around that pole! I originally learned about Vertical Tease Durham on Groupon, my curiosity roused I went to their website and decided to try the Intro to Pole but with the Pay as you go Rate for $10 a session in the 11AM Saturday morning slot. I don't know how strippers do it - working that pole is hard work, and not to mention super fun! Clad in yoga pants, my friend and I giggled like two mischievous school girls, I think there was even a "weeee" squeal after our first Firemans swing. Besides being a ton of fun, this pole dancing class was a pretty good workout as told by my sore delts, lats, and obliques the next day. I can't wait to work that pole again! I'm going to rent out the studio for a private party for one of my girlfriends birthday! Weeeee! Sorry Chris Rock. PS - Vertical Tease is a little hard to find, GPS took us over by Chapel Hill so we ended up calling and getting directions from the receptionist. There's a service road and it's upstairs.

I bought a livingsocial coupon for Vertical Tease, primarily with pole dancing in mind, but…read moreintrigued by the number of other classes. Having now been to two classes, I can say that pole dancing is definitely their forte. Kendra, the manager (and possibly owner), is fun and enthusiastic. Her constant encouragement was helpful for newbies like myself. "It doesn't matter how hard you fall as long as you get up sexy," may be my new motto. The instruction was great, and the workout was pretty good too (although I may be investing in kneepads). Five dollar Fridays rotate the style of lesson, giving you a chance to try some new things without spending a lot of money. After such a great lesson with Kendra, however, I was disappointed by the belly dancing class I took. The instructor seemed inexperienced, saying things like, "do the... what's it called..." and "let me see if I remember the next step." I've had better workouts practicing on my own, and since I didn't get a lot of feedback from the instructor on my technique, I'm inclined to keep it that way. Over all, I encourage everyone to check out the pole dancing classes, but if you're interested in another style of work out, maybe look somewhere else. PS. Give yourself plenty of time to get there; it's hard to find (on a frontage road to 15-501 and over Pomegranate Kitchen).

I really enjoyed using this boxing club. They make you work hard and you definitely feel it…read more Unfortunately, they don't offer classes that I can't live without, like yoga. It's a great gym for the atheltically inclined who are used to pushing their limits. just do everyone a favor and don't complain the whole time. there were a few complainers that i wish were given a pink slip or a series of exercises to make them really feel the pain. The other major drawback, aside from no yoga, is how incredibly hot this place gets. there is NO AC! although it helps with dropping weight, i sometimes felt like I was training for a wrestling team lol! great instructors - Lamar was def my favorite.

I tried out this gym after moving to the area and buying a Groupon. I originally was interested in…read morethe workout/circuit classes, and when they weren't cancelled and with certain instructors they were great. In fact, a few of the lower body workout classes with one particular female instructor was one of the best workouts I've ever had. (And that says a lot, as a former D1 college athlete). I really was impressed. But herein lies the problem. In the one month that I went, I either showed up to no instructor present or received emails shortly before going to the gym to say the class was cancelled on 5 or 6 occasions. That's almost an entire week of my one month. Additionally there were several other classes taught by various other female instructors that were simply terrible - no enthusiasm, no encouragement, and frankly no instruction on the movements! It was as if we (the participants) were not even there. Finally, there were also several (I would say the majority of) times that there were not enough weights for everyone in the class so we were forced to attempt to use weights that were either too heavy or too light for us. I also tried the boxing classes a handful of times (usually when my intended class was cancelled), and again I was disappointed with the lack of instruction. I had no idea what most of the moves were, or if I were doing them correctly, and did not receive any coaching. Finally, the staff (particularly the young man) who sometimes is at the front check in desk was VERY rude to both me and my friend on a number of occasions, scolding us to wipe our feet, rolling his eyes, or simply not acknowledging us at all when we entered and said hello. I really enjoyed some of the classes and diversity of experience that was theoretically offered here; unfortunately there were too many poor moments/experiences for me to consider continuing my membership.
