Empowered Firm began as a business process, leadership, and operational improvement advisory firm. The early work focused on helping owners simplify the way their companies operated, improve systems, and reduce chaos inside the business.
Over time, the work evolved toward one of the most important questions a business owner eventually faces:
Can this business transfer without me?
That question became the foundation of Empowered Firm’s current buyer-readiness and transferability work.
Today, Empowered Firm helps founder-led businesses identify what buyers may question first, where the company may be overly dependent on the owner, and what needs to become clearer before the business can be easier for the right buyer to say yes to.

Meet the Business Owner: Michael R.
Michael Roura is the founder of Empowered Firm.
Born and raised in Hawaiʻi and a graduate of Aiea High School, Michael works with founder-led business owners who want a clearer view of what they have built, what may transfer, and what buyers may question before a deal is on the line.
Michael’s background includes business process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, sales, leadership, advisory work, and M&A preparation. He is also a United States Marine Corps veteran, which shaped his direct, practical, no-drama approach to helping owners work through complicated decisions.
His work is built around a simple belief:
A business owner should not have to wait until a buyer, broker, lender, or diligence team exposes the weak points in the business.
