I'm so tired of sales folks saying everything you need to hear to put down a deposit and secure an appointment and then act as if they're doing you a favor when you arrive and have a complete change in behavior otherwise when it's time. Is it set an appointment to come by between these hours and we'll have you out of here in 2-hours or less... or will I come by, you look at the clock and tell me this could be a while because he can't get started until he handles these other vehicles and now I'm stranded in Gulfport for hours on hours and have to cancel all of my time sensitive appointments otherwise? I experienced the latter... despite calling here before driving an hour over to give you the opportunity to share the latest update so I can have a fair shot at planning my own life accordingly. I'm livid. Of all the appointments, stopping here was the least important... and I'm so sad to give Mike my money... he's extremely rude, unprofessional, and unpleasant... and a liar. Went in today and got a double din installed. Mike the guy working with me throughout the process never tried over selling me on anything and was very knowledgeable. I told him what all I was looking for in my replacement and he knew the specs of everything on the shelf. Got me taken care of within minutes and had my truck in the back to get the install done. Can't remember the guys name that did the install but he did a phenomenal job on making the screen fit perfectly into the truck, no over/under cuts just complete professional work. Also probably one of the few places with such a high traffic volume of customers with a spotless show room, waiting room and restroom. Definitely will be recommending anyone's audio needs to this place, I didn't have a single problem or complaint. read more

I read some of the positive local reviews, and then I read the funny one written in 2011 from a guy who now lives in New Jersey. I think he said he was originally from California. Funny stuff! I don't know what the competition holds for remote car door openers-but my experience with Empress Audio was unsatisfactory. For one thing, they come off like hustlers. They are fast talkers, and always have a phone in their hands. I felt like I was in well kept, boiler room operation. I'll cut to the chase and say they saw me coming from a mile away! This was my first time at the rodio and they never informed me that the only thing my factory remote needed was a new battery and maybe a back-up remote. When I purchased a new system from them, they never told me to hold onto the remotes for dear life, as replacing them costs an arm and a leg. So now I have one remote left, and a system that is inferior to the factory installation. I would not recommend Empress Audio to a friend. I am sure there are more reputable shops in the area. read more

I brought my wife's car here for window tinting. The whole process took an hour and half from start to finish. The customer service was great and I thank Mike for his good business sense. I paid $170.00 for tint work, which is not too bad for a two door Altima. The tint job came out great and the wifey loves how it looks on her car. They also provided me with a life time warranty for the work completed. I would give them 5 stars but the don't give military discounts. Other than that, I recommend Empress to anybody who wishes to get their windows tinted. read more

I wanted to thank all the guys at Empress Audio. This is not the first time I have had work done there, but something in particular happened. Long story short, I had a lightbulb out behind my A/C console on my BMW Z3. BMW of Mobile upset me so bad with the poor service and outrageous prices ($250 to $500 estimate) I brought my car to Empress. They had it changed within 20 minutes and charged me $34.00. Nice place. Huge. Lots of parking. But the fact that the place is huge, lots of parking, and lots of advertising, made me cautious in thinking this joint could be EXPENSIVE. When I got my quote, I pooped my pants, a little. They seem to run a clean store so the poop may not be there any more. I was told I would not find a lower quote than what they gave me, which was complete...um...poop. Smelly, runny poop. I managed to find the equipment I wanted, with installation included, for 200 dollars less elsewhere. The salesman was nice enough, but I was a potential buyer, and he didn't even try to work with me. He let me stroll out of there, even though I did the ole "I will just pause and see if they call me back to work something out"...still NADA. Oh well, guess they don't need money that bad. We aren't in a semi recession or anything, yeah? I did some math on that quote, and it seemed to work out at 250-300 dollars in LABOR. What the foxtrot (WTF)??? That is insane in the membrane.
