Exceptional. Stunning flavours that all just work and quality ingredients with excellent service at bargain prices.
A seasonal, changing menu with fresh ingredients, everything made in house. Four to five choices each for starter, main and dessert which will come in at 25-30€ for all three. Below average prices for drinks and wine. Appears to be run by a young Asian couple serving stunning French food with a fusion twist. A slightly dated and frayed decor is the only negative point.
Generous portion of crevette/shrimp/scampi to start in a court-bouillon of vegetables and mushrooms with a hint of ginger. Stunning chicken with a creamy tandoori sauce ("supreme de voilaille") and the best gratin dauphinois I've ever had. A paradox of crispy yet soft and tender potato slices in cream and garlic. The complimentary baguette was so amazing I nearly finished off the second basket of it with the extra tandoori sauce. Closed with a perfectly crafted chocolate mousse with an ever so slightly salty caramel sauce, of course also homemade.
The fact that I was here alone for most of my meal, even on a Tuesday, is almost criminal. Despite rave reviews here it seems word of mouth has somehow not yet spread. A shame I only found them on my last night in Paris. At a brisk twenty minute walk from the Arc du Triomphe I'd say this is worth the detour even if the neighbourhood has little to nothing else for tourists. For business travellers this could be a daily lunch or dinner option at these prices. I doubt you'll find this amazing value for money anywhere else in the area. Frankly they could charge twice this. Get in before Michelin does is my advice. read more
