Right now, Ena's take out is super convenient and easy. We called to order and picked it up and when we arrived, it was busy! We waited about 20 mins, even with our carry out order, but it seemed to go by pretty quickly. Walking in, you immediately smell the spices and it smells amazing and just feels like you're about to have an amazing meal. I got the BBQ Jerk Chicken meal and two sides: mac & cheese and red beans & rice. This is one of the best and authentic meals I've ever had, I'm not kidding. Everything is spiced and seasoned so well and it's absolutely delicious. The chicken was super tender, it was not staying on the bones. The prices were pretty great for the portion as well (about $11-$13 per entree)! The shrimp meal was pretty good, although it seemed like the shrimp was missing just a bit of something. Both still delicious! I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu, it truly was a great experience and with such yummy food! You'll miss this place if you're not looking for it. I have been here twice. The food is delicious. The oxtails had a good flavor. I like mine a little more tender, but still good. Beans and rice delicious. The cabbage during the first visit was delicious; the second time was not as good-- almost raw and not flavorful-- maybe they were rushing this visit to complete orders. My next visit will be the stew chicken. This second visit I tried a slice of pound cake. Reasonably priced, and delicious... not too sweet-- the way I like. This is one of those places that you would drive past and not think about visiting. It's pretty unassuming from the front of it. It also happens to be located in a not so great area of town. But a friend suggested it based on someone else's raving remarks over it, hence we had to dine here. I came as a group of three on a Tuesday evening reaching 7pm. There were about three others waiting for their meals. They didn't seem busy but one guy was on the phone non-stop taking carryout orders and the other lady was giving the orders to people who had called in earlier. I think that's their definition of busy. Customer service was okay. No one acknowledged us until the lady finished helping the other customers who got carry out. It was technically the guy who was supposed to take our orders but since he was busy on the phone, he just stared at us. Didn't motion to us to tell us one second or I'll be right with you. The workers didn't seem particularly happy to be there. Anyway, they ran of Jamaican patties and the plaintains weren't ripe, so we couldn't choose those for sides. Two of us got jerk chicken with rice and beans and chose cornbread. So good and spicy! It was so much food! Like three pieces of chicken! I had to take it home. My other friend got the same but got oxtail instead of the jerk chicken. She loved it! Also, spicy. The place wasn't very clean, which is why they have four stars from me, aside from mediocre customer service. I know they were busy but it's no excuse. But looks like most patrons look past all that and come here anyway. Thankfully, they had sanitizer out there though. They don't have utensils and napkins out which was a little inconvenient too... Also, I think they have a private lot out back? But not sure if it's actually there's. You can find parallel parking just behind it though. She kept verbally abusing her employees and extended harassment to me. It made me completely feeling so uncomfortable and there were other customers there as well. Bottom line, they don't care about the customers service except for the money they take. They have no practicality nor common sense and have no manners or ability to do one job they got to make food enjoyable. Saw Ena's Caribbean Kitchen on "Triple D" a while back. When my son decided to attend college in Ohio, (we are from Los Angeles) I looked up it up and bookmarked it. I was in Ohio this week to attend a few of my son's basketball games. We decided to try Edna's out. We weren't disappointed. Got here around 6pm and they were busy. We were able to grab on of the few tables to eat. Most people were getting orders to go. My son enjoys Oxtails. He got them with a side of beans & rice, and fries. I got the Red Snapper with a side of Collard Greens and Plantains. My son also got a bottle of Pineapple Soda. It took approximately 15 - 20 minutes for our order to arrive. It was worth the wait. My Red Snapper Fillet was large, thick, and meaty. It was fried golden brown and moist. My collards were flavorful. The plantains were delicious. My son dove into the oxtails. They were in a rich brown looking gravy with fresh onions and bell peppers on top. He said they were very good. The fries were freshly cut and crispy. The beans & rice were very tasty. We ate ALL of our food. It was so good. Ms. Elena was there. We chatted for a few minutes. She was very nice and personable. My son purchased another pineapple soda to go. When you arrive at Enas the first thing you notice is the smell of all the spices. Just know that is a sign of things to come! The restaurant its self has vibrant sounds of the Caribbean islands and the staff greets you as if you're a local. So if you dont know what you want to order ask for someone to explain the menu. I went on a Saturday at 3pm and it wasnt too busy. I ordered the King Fish (brown stew) with fried plantains and rice & beans. This was my first time having King Fish but I am no stranger to Caribbean food. The fish was cut steak style and cooked within the brown stew. It also had onions, green & red peppers, and tomatoes. The first bite: the fish is just a tad bit firmer than salmon, but just as flakey. This helped the flavors to lock and it showed with the juices. There were only a few bones to remove but definitely worth the small battle. The seasoning were perfect with just a small kick that adds to the experience. The plantains reminds me of the lunches I've had in the Bahamas. But the plantains themselves were sweet and soft! The rice and beans were seasoned to perfection and paired well , as usual, with the rice and beans. All that was missing was the Caribbean heat and the island breeze. read more

The Jamaican patties remind me of the Caribbean and this is the only place I could locate Ting (grape fruit based soda from the Caribbean)! The food is served just as on the islands and is flavorful. I've only been to Ena's twice now, but if it was closer, I'd go every week. The food, the pricing, the quantity... it's well worth it. Honestly, I've been wanting to go back for awhile, but it wasn't until they popped up on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives that I made it a point to get here this past weekend. I guess the marketing worked. I've been here at lunch time during the week when it was busy and have waited for 10-15 minutes, maybe more, to get some food, but this time I went on a Sunday right when they opened and was the only one in there. It maybe took 5 minutes to get my chicken, and the girls working the counter were very nice. I went with the Jerk chicken, same as last time, and for $10, you get what seemed like half chicken plus two sides. Needless to say, it was plenty of food. I took it home about 15 minutes away, and it was still piping hot. This meal reaffirmed my belief that Ena's has the best Jerk chicken in town that I've tried, and it's not even close. Everything about it screams authentic, so if you think going to BW3's and getting Caribbean Jerk sauce is any comparison, you really have no idea what Jerk chicken is. This chicken is so tender, and the spices they use go straight down to the bone and give it such a great kick. I love my food spicy, and the Scotch Bonnets definitely leave a lingering heat that made me feel good. On top of that, my rice and beans side was great and also had a bit of a kick. I mixed that all in with the chicken juices which is a must. The collard greens were fantastic; probably the best I've had in the area. Sweet and spicy at the same time and not overcooked and dry. I could eat a whole plate of these. I needed this reminder to get over here more often, because this is some of the best cooking in Columbus. It's hard to stray from the Jerk chicken, but the BBQ chicken looks great as well, so it gives me even more inclination to get back over here. We got the jerk chicken and bbq jerk chicken dinner. It comes with beans and rice. Sides we ordered include: Mac n cheese, collard greens, and cabbage. Also ordered a piece of cornbread. One of the people from the truck came in at 10:20 to ask if this is the location. I verified yes. I showed her where the truck could park & thought he was behind her. It's currently 11:12, truck was scheduled for 10:30. Placed a call to Ena's at 11:03. The owner very casually said he's on the way. I impressed on her that lunches start at 11 am. She simply replied, ok, he's on the way. I'm mortified that I suggested this as an option. Lost several hundred employees's support and business. Follow up: received a call at 11:20 asking if truck arrived. Advised yes, but is 45 mins late. Said, yes, but he's there. Ms Campbell, good service and good business far outweigh good products. I declined to eat today as the truck was so late and numerous employees missed lunch. We will not extend any future invites. read more

My husband ordered food for our family yesterday and while we were eating it, I realized there was a ball of hair in my mouth. I pulled it out and it was a big ball of gray hair. When I called to explain what my experience was she wouldn't even let me get it out, and hung up on me. I will NEVER visit this location again and we have been regulars for years. Hello yelpers, I'm new to the Columbus area and I have to say after a month being here I am feeling this city. Ena's Caribbean kitchen not so much. The service is deplorable. The lady taking the orders on the walk in side was down right mean. I moved here from Denver, CO and I have never been treated with such open disrespect from a service person. I think she must own the place because that is the only way she could be working in customer service. She actually told me "don't move" then handed me the receipt to sign and never said thank you when she took the signed receipt. No smile not even an attempt to thank me for driving to here place of business and spending my money. She acted as if she was doing me a favor. Well I'm doing everyone on this site a favor writing this review. Then my daughter was trying to ask about how spicy the jerk was but the woman interrupted her and start asking here about how hot or extra hot she wanted her food. If she let her finish she might have able to answer the question she was being asked instead of being rude and not listening to the customer's question. I will not be returning to this spot even though the food was good. I will not be disrespected by a business that I am supporting with my hard earned dollars. There are so many customer focused businesses here that I don't have to feel taken advantage of by a rude customer service person. So now you know if she pisses you off and tries to ruin your day. Stumbled across Ena's for lunch because my coworkers and I were volunteering in the area and I am so glad we did. Wow this was just wonderful. First off, the meals are definitely made fresh because this was piping hot when we got our food and remained steaming for like over 10 minutes into our meal. This combo was only like $10 and it was so much food. Even though Mac and cheese isn't their specialty, their Mac and cheese was to die for. The chicken was so tender it was falling off the bone the entire time. The rice gave it a good balance because there was a kick to it. When I lived in Columbus a few years ago I went to Ena's all the time and always got the bbq jerk chicken. I'm ashamed to say this is my first time back since I moved back 6 months ago. And it did not disappoint. The place has definitely gotten a bit of an upgrade since I used to frequent it. Parking is still limited but usually some sort of a spot can be found. The space itself is the same but it seems like maybe they hired more staff because it took no time to get my meal. They've got a lot of great options but I went with my tried and true this visit. The chicken is always so tender and flavorful. I for some reason remember the jerk seasoning being a bit spicer but maybe I'm remembering incorrectly. I could have gone a little spicer but it was still tasty. The cabbage and rice & beans go so well with the sauce that comes on the chicken. I usually mix mine all together. Overall, if you live in Columbus and haven't been to Ena's....WHAT ARE YOU DOING??? I promise it will not disappoint. read more
