So, let's talk about Southern Hospitality (SoHo 614) in Columbus... I know some of y'all were looking forward to a food review, but honestly, I didn't even get to taste the food. Here's what happened: I made a 5:30pm reservation since I had other plans later. I Ubered over, spent my hard-earned money, and arrived early, right at 5:27pm. According to their online info, they open at 5pm, so I expected someone to be there. When I walked in... no bartender, no host, no guests. Just an empty space. I thought maybe I was just early, so I went ahead and sat down. Ten minutes passed. A worker walked in and out of the kitchen but never said much.. he even mentioned he didn't speak Spanish. That was it. After seeing all the raves on TikTok, I was definitely disappointed. The space looked nice, but the experience left a lot to be desired. Not sure yet if I'll give them a do-over ‍ but for now, this one goes in the "maybe not" file. read more

Southern Hospitality is a great place for live music and especially for southern fine dining cuisine. I was here for the soft opening but they open June 19th 2025. They have live music and an insane sound system. The service was great, my waitress Aliyah was amazing. The food is absolutely incredible, ain't nobody layin it down in Columbus like Southern Hospitality 614. The Sweet Potato Cheesecake is out of this world, I thought I was getting high off of it, it was sooooo good! The Cat Fish Creole was perfect. The Jerk Chicken Eggs Rolls are a must try here, I mean really everything is straight fire. Fried chicken is like what grandma would make. My friend and I made a reservation here a day before we wanted to go. We moved the reservation the day of. We both drove over 30 minutes to this place to find that it was closed. No announcement was made on social media. They were actively posting on social media while we were in the parking lot. Nothing on website stating anything about closure. We weren't even contacted about it considering we had a reservation prior. Very disappointed. I won't be back if this is how they do business. We even reached out to them on social media and have yet to be acknowledged. read more

I attended an event mid day on a Saturday and waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged and never got a chance to place an order. At future events I'll either have to go an hour early or plan to take my food to go. I was not able to even order a beverage. So on second thought I'll eat before I arrive. read more

I have been there 2x, once with the hubby, the other time with sis. Both times were okay but the 1st time was better in terms of hospitality. You seat yourself. The music is typically very loud, but this is by design; it could add to the vibe if you let it. The 1st time was lunch with about 4 patrons, some take out orders. There seemed to be an exchange between a man and young woman about who would be helping us, the man seemed preoccupied and ultimately told the young lady to help us. The server was kind and was available to answer questions abt a dish if you had one on the 1st run. We saw this guy again the second time, perhaps a manager (owner-idk). He's to the point you order pay and go... no hello and he does stick around for questions, he may point you to another staff as he walks away. On our second run we got drinks and orders To go. This time he set our bag of food behind the bar and walked away as we asked if it was ours. When got the bar tenders attn to tell her that was our food she had to go to the back to ensure it was ours. Not too big but he cld have just given it to us since we paid him upon ordering, now we have to have wait for his remote correspondence through another employee to get our stuff and go. Food: Chex rice w/gravy: Meat and gravy was good. The spinach rice by itself was a little disappointing -pretty plain and the spinach only appeared to color the rice green -not really enough impact to call it spinach rice. I wld get it again but lower my expectations and just see it as a side of plain rice. Fataya trio had potential but the empanada was overcooked which made the inside dry. They seem to use the same meat trio in a few dishes: 1pc beef, fish, 1pc smoked Turkey. Peanut butter stew was good- wish they didn't put the weird price of the Turkey wing in there. Side note: I feel a lil cheated when restaurants use that portion of the wing as your portion for that kind of meat; since some ppl just end up picking around it; it adds flavor but is not meant for low pressure forking. My sis enjoyed the pepper soup. The cpl next to us at the bar boasted abt the wings and ordered another round. To me thing wings seemed over priced. They had one Traditional Flavor amongst the 3. I would have liked more West African flavors you can get buffalo and barbecue anywhere. Over all a 3 because of the variable service and quality for price issues encountered. The lady bar tender was Cool. I wld roll the dice and go back, but there are several East and West African restaurants in Columbus. read more

The menu looked really interesting so I had to give it a try and I'm really happy I did. The food was good, staff was nice and helpful and the place was clean. The recommendation from the really helpful young lady behind the bar was cassava leaf stew with rice and I added plantains. It was really flavorful and just enough spice but not too hot. A cold red stripe was perfect to top it all off. I'll be back to try more. read more

Attended a work gathering here and ordered the attieke and fish with plantains. My friend ordered the chicken shawarma. My dish was excellent and it came with the spicy sauce on the side. Attieke is cassava minced with salt and flavors and it was the first time I had it. I will definitely have it again. read more

Really wanted to like this place. Called in and placed an order. When I showed up, they had no record of the order and one of the items I ordered, and found on their online menu, they didn't even sell. I go out of my way to support small businesses, but this one is just horribly ran. read more

I showed up at this place (that my date randomly picked from Google Maps, closest to Carnage Haunted House). Keep in mind I am Deaf so when we showed up, there was a silent party going on (people listening to music via headphones). I was bemused at the irony but the atmosphere was top-notch. My date loved how people were vibing so well on the dance floor. The customer service is excellent. Admittedly, the food could be better but I am not going to deduct a star for the food because the atmosphere is incredible. Again, I am Deaf and I enjoyed the silent party. My date and I were looking for a restaurant nearby and Savor was the closest place that was open late at night. We decided to give it a shot, not knowing it was more of a night club and there was a Halloween event taking place. We were a little confused when we got to the door and found out about the event and nobody else was eating- just dancing and drinking. We weren't sure if they were still serving food but the bartender assured us he would take care of us and we both got to try something new. The food took a while to come out, but was tasty and fresh, and the employees we dealt with were all great. The entire vibe of Savor was great- just a really positive place with a lot of people dancing and having a great time. I never once felt unsafe or unwelcome. I wasn't sure what to expect when I got there, but I walked out a new fan. read more
