We love how quiet it is here, and the amenities are nice. They have been hosting more community events and bringing in food trucks, which are great bonuses. Trash service is handled very well, and the staff is excellent. The grounds and exterior, however, could use some attention. With a little more landscaping and upkeep, the property could feel as special as it has the potential to be. read more

We've been here about a year and absolutely love it. Entire staff is excellent. They go away beyond the "call of duty" to help with any problem you might have. The manager Wes is always around and able and willing to help. Maintenance is always on the ball. They have very interesting and fun special activities like planter decorating and arizona wooden map painting. And of course they have bagels or donuts occasionally, which is always a fun surprise when passing through the lobby. read more

Moved in on 8/9/2024. Within forty eight hours, I faced the first of six overflown toilet issues. Three occurred while I was out of the home, pointing to a bigger problem. I use the maintenance app, call and tell the front office in-person, for each occurrence. Every time, they show no urgency. The leasing office often laughs at me to my face. I have only one toilet, and I've had several weeks with no working toilet despite paying rent. In fact, two times I have had no toilet for 5 consistent days. No backup bathroom. Nothing offered to me. I have spent hundreds of dollars on towels only to be thrown away due to others waste saturating them. Each time, the overflow spreads to the main area ( kitchen space between bedroom and bathroom and bedroom carpet). Management has been inside when Ive left the mess for them and have never offered to have the carpet cleaned. Even though they see that it is soaked. So u will rent unit 3206 and it will have poop on the carpet and plumbing issues. This post aims to get the company's attention and help, but mainly to warn other renters about what to expect. It's common. I've spoken with many other neighbors. I'm happy to share their phone numbers. The dishwasher is also broken. Doesn't clean or dry. No response to that issue either. There are zero responses to fix it requests, and you have to cause a huge stink in order to get them here. People rent, so they don't have to deal with maintenance issues. That's a huge bonus for some of us. Not at La Ecantada. They are run down and unmanaged. I've had them keep my identification, and they were unwilling to drive it to me despite it being their error. To finish, maintenance stated that they would contact my neighbor and see if she has had any issues with her plumbing, or if she has plunged on the days when I have had floods. I spoke with her today. She has NEVER been contacted. Enjoy renting here. It is cheap and so is the maintenance and management. Funny thing is that they are ALWAYS seated at front desk just sharing stories of good times. Trust me, I've been in the lobby seated and just listening to what they spend their time doing all day long. I have intentionally worked in the lobby space to see what goes on instead of tending to paying residents. They don't work. read more

Be really careful if you live on the second floor. I have opened multiple maintenance requests for the extremely loud HVAC units directly above my bedroom that prevents me sleeping. After three visits now, the maintenance team has informed me that the units are working as intended and they have done all they can. Ok, so be it. I believe them. I am now in the process of moving my bedroom into the living room. I'm not joking. It's the only way I will be able to sleep at night. Consider your second story bedroom unusable if it is one directly below HVAC units. In about 5 weeks I'll be here for the minimum amount of time to transfer to another apartment. That will come with more time, money and headaches for me. I'd rather not give these jokers more money than I have to, but it's really easy to get trapped in a situation like this. Luxury apartment.....I think not. Unless you consider not being able to sleep in your own bedroom as luxury. I dare someone from the HSL corporate office to come for a visit and tell me it's ok. It is not ok! I bet KGUN on your side will come by before they do. That's how angry i am about this. I am researching filing complaints, contacting the news, etc. Consider another property. even if this review saves one person I will feel better. read more

I haven't lived in an apartment in 30 years. Couple minor hiccups moving in but the Staff is very attentive and responsive. The little things were addressed and fixed immediately. Since then, about 6 weeks, nothing but a pleasant apartment living experience. My biggest kudos is that the garbage bins are emptied several times a week and I've only seen it overflowing once and that was probably during someone's move. Resident for 12 months at this apartment complex. The front office staff team is great. Their boss Art, is not a good human. Upon moving in within the first 30 days complaints were made about my dog barking (was unrelated to my specific apartment regarding direction of noise). Mr. Art Roach threaten to have my dog removed, I called his bluff and nothing came of it. Due to COVID-19, theater has been closed since March 2019 and the gym mostly as well. Pool hours have been limited and Encantada didn't have the decency to lower the premium in our monthly rent (which is why you pay more to live here). To top it off when I'm moved out, I didn't shut electricity and assumed the Encantada would place back in their name (my mistake) and was billed. Art, said he could not do anything. I paid for their electricity for 20 days. I'll address with his leadership. read more

The area around where the property is, is just wonderful. Quiet and peaceful. Everything you need within walking distance, if you prefer to walk. A lot of good hikes nearby. The apartment itself, was okay. Not exactly luxury but there's a reason I was there for 5 years, the desert view, so at the end it did the job. read more

My parents moved into here a few months now. I've seen remarks about the staff in prior reviews which have not been accurate from our experience. Everyone this far has been very nice and helpful to my senior Mom & Dad. Ok, the place is pricey - probably one third more than others in the area. The grounds and amenities are nice. Gym has nice equipment, towels, and chilled water. Nice 25 plus seat theater with 100 + streaming movies that can be reserved. Pool, BBQs and out door TVs with gas fire is cool. Apartment itself is fine. Decently appointed apartments with granite counters and nice laundry machines. Appliances so so - fridge noisy. Can hear the neighbors walking around up stairs - so if that bothers you get an up stairs unit. Note there Re no elevators so you have to walk the stairs. read more

We have just moved here July 2022 and so far this place has exceeded expectations. The rent is reasonable for all of the amenities and the apartment is spacious. We got a first floor two bedroom. The staff is very responsive and helpful. Alexis is the best employee they have. She remembers everyone by name and follows up with all maintenance requests in a timely manner. She even was kind enough to recommend food and activities nearby. The only two negatives I have for this complex is that it doesn't have a lot of resident activities. There are food trucks roughly every week but we are informed of them only one day before or sometimes only the day of. It would be helpful if there was a calendar of upcoming food trucks. There are also no other events held by the complex so far in the 4 months we have lived here. The only other complaint is that the gate keys don't always work and you have to enter a code to let yourself in which is annoying when you come back home from work tired. Overall an amazing place to live and I highly recommend to anyone! read more

This is a luxury apartment complex in the Marana area. One big plus is the location near Dove Mountain Blvd that connects to I10 to the South or Tangerine to the I10 North. There is an exercise room and 2 pools.There Is a large theater you can check out that has over 100 movies. I have used this facility for a small sports party. They also have Mountain bikes to check out. There is a yelp member who has posted a rather long diatribe. In summary, I can attest that I wasted 173 bucks a month on Giga net from century link. I am not sure this is La Encanta's problem. The fiber for some reason does not support much over 70 MBS. Century Link is not very keen on addressing this problem. However, the solution might be to just order a lower speed service that is supported. If you absolutely need 1 GB then at least 2 posters who have lived here have not achieved those speeds. There is also plenty of golf and places to bike or just stroll. The community attracts less transits than my previous experiences. So, La Encatanda Dove Mountain is a gated apartment complex strategically located for access to I10, well attributed with amenities, and offers luxury in a growing Marana community. read more

The room and amenities are very nice but the staff makes living at Encantada even better. Community Director Art Rocha has always made time for me if I have a question. My maintenance requests have been handled quickly. All the personnel that I have had occasion to interact with have been courteous and willing to help. It's beautiful, all these Encantada places are, and I do think this had less transient residents than others when I discussed locally, though being at Dove Mountain in general there's less "community" but the remote character is what I wanted from this location. The rest of this is just intended to help others as ultimately was a waste of 6 months of time in Arizona and incorrect info got me into a one year lease re: wiring infrastructure. Why property management companies don't understand that this matters is perhaps just a reflection on their not running their own businesses themselves, at least those being employed in positions that handle information about the "access" to communications infrastructure and their liaison and accurate information corresponding with agent handling the incoming tenant, keys, signing of lease and getting a copy of this to the tenant. Just watch everything, nice people but they aren't working for the tenant. This may change if they bring fiber down Tangerine, but until you have documented legal confirmation of that, Do not rent here as a business unless you bring an attorney. I have yet to receive the refund for deposit after I terminated lease (at cost of $2500 to terminate early). Now I am getting flack on getting documentation for the check they now say they have sent and is shown as cashed. And, then woman with whom I signed lease and corresponded has stated an entirely different email address for a website that doesn't even exist as the contact info for me, so something's going on. Definitely "watch it" if Yesa is handling the transaction when you sign your lease, it will signal difficulties in getting any copies of paperwork that carry through your lease or did for me. My impression while I lived there for 6 months is that they give military discounts and prefer those with these discounts/employed with corporate and govt. entities in terms of how they delegate their wiring and the data seeking practices are in place in different buildings. As an architect, I understand the cost effectiveness of "smart technology". But as a business owner with Apple WIFI home network with pretty stringent security, know it's 'lossy' and loose. I.E. nothing will get stolen or taken because NOTHING WILL WORK! Seriously, I had STAT computer and then finally xfinity/comcast came out together to get something set up just so I could get a townhouse purchased and this was all through an iPad with AT&T! I later me a man there who did say his wife worked for the govt and said "we had to wire our own apt" but this was not an option even after we discovered difficulties with getting any service from Century Link. The manager Art told me that they didn't give any business internet accounts. Comcast said this was untrue, and I then later heard off the record which building. But, I think they soon were hacked, likely hearing of all my challenges as a business and they departed, bought. I just think it's a data seeking environment and while I don't care about this, we all use google, I do care when I'm paying $1600 and nothing in terms of access to communications works for 7 months, when I've been told that they have GPON and the feed is on and made it clear that I am renting as small business S corp owner to rent as an office (for a yr was intention). People do sometimes have to be dishonest, definitely now in property management, so those business ethics are what they are. These are all nice people on a personal level, they just have to do their job and this is what it is and when someone is trying to simply get documentation for accountant (what I'm doing, end of year), they "turn" on you, talk in a tone like one would speak to a child, use first name, get all excited and escalate the situation simply because they are in an uncomfortable position that may make them liable, but that is their choice as an employee. There are some great apts. on Ina that have names like "Domain" and show license tags, so I should have known when the military discounts flag went out that I would be second class as a business owner, but I would recommend those. Others who have moved from their original homes to Arizona for similar reasons have told me they were very happy there. read more

Don't rent here if you have a home office. Dragons hired at desk, the property manager when I rented thankfully has ethics and has left the Encantada properties. It's probably fine if you have a military or Goverment discount but if you have any privacy of security that requires sophistication this place in dark ages, they will tell you they have high fiber but it's lossy, not secure. They do hire women at the desk (which is who you have to work through to ultimately rent apartment) who will lie while looking you in the eye. Comcast and xfinity and apple pulled the plug on my internet, so that's all I needed to break lease, plus 6 months of IT hell. I'm sure it's wonderful for those who get the discounts, get up and go to work, get paycheck and come home to watch tv, but if you are private sector stay very far away from this place. Wifi hums all night, smart meters, all beautiful, of course, as Encantada properties all built on on eminent domain but it really is not designed for anyone but Goverment workers or contractors at least at Dove Mountain. Office says it all, waterfall, big screen tv, coffee bar but I have never seem anyone in Lobby sitting or reading and the original historic books about Arizona in lobby here when I arrived probably left with the property manager who left the company. If you approach the desk, the dragon on duty will breathe fire and scare off any question. We received memos about dogs 'off leash' and I did want to relay to desk a brief moment that my dog was not the tethered when I was heaving a trash sack into dumpster and the two dragons on duty couldn't have shooed me away faster. It's a very strange place and while the grounds people are nice, I do think they are using females as 'bad cop' in giving misleading information about renting but also putting them in charge of getting leases signed. I did meNtion this at termination of lease after 6 months as this is pricey and the woman who had previously played dumb about anything with Internet then said, 'well how could we ever supply to anything but just the building' so if they tell u it's gpon and you have access through the port in the 'office' of s two bedroom don't think it will last. Maybe someday feed will get on and they can handle this or IPv6 but Even after second Carrier and being all hardwired thru Apple router with second ISP and paid Comcast/xfinity hardwiring everyone pulled plug. And, even though I have s Corp but didn't get business access others do and they lied about this. And, another resident said they had to wire their own unit as spouse worked for Govt but this wasn't made available to me. No big, what goes around comes around as it is individuals doing jobs and I do think higher end apt rentals are indicating a downturn so I think they need $ wherever they can get it. But, I'm warning others so it doesn't have to be their two months rent as penalty to flee lease. I would deal directly with property manager and HSL if you have any kind of work you want to do at home and want to rent here. And, I'd get it in writing that it was a 'deal' with HSL, not just the staff as they are dispensable and transient. I'm not disparaging women, they are just getting used but they are ferocious and be forwarned when approaching with even most minimal question or need, it is intimidating. Most of their discussion I heard was about wanting a different blouse, white, for the uniform, so that's who is getting hired, at least within a certain age window. read more

Having been a community manager and in the property management industry since 2011 before moving to Tucson, I have to say that the staff here at Encantada at Dove Mountain do a wonderful job!! Anaysa, Stacey, and Meaghan have all been so great (there's a newer lady who is also so sweet)!! They really take the time to chat with my kids whenever we are in the office and are always just very pleasant. The service staff do a great job as well! I was one of the first residents at Encantada at Dove Mountain back in 2013 when it first opened. I loved every minute living there as it was a refuge during a critical time in my life. Staff are great! Facilities, maintenance, landscaping are beautiful and well-maintained. During my stay, I wrote two children's books. One recently published and the second due at end of the year 2016. I was inspired to write while I walked the desert path not far from the apartments. Who knew!?! I am now living in Indiana to help a family member with his farm but if I found myself moving back to Marana, AZ, I would choose to return to Encantada at Dove Mountain. All the best! I want to start by saying that when we first moved here we were so impressed with this property and how it was run and looked after. If you would have asked me a year and a half ago I would have given them 4 or even 5 stars. I even went so far as referring this property to my 3 children moving to Arizona from California. Thankfully 2 of my 3 children have found their dream homes and have moved out of here while I'm still trying to find that new forever home for myself and my husband. Over the last year (pre Covid 19) we slowly watched the decline. The pools here were constantly being closed for one reason or another. The smaller back pool has a hot tub that was not working for months. The theater was even closed for over a month at one point. This is also supposed to be a secure complex with gates that are way to often inoperable as well as call boxes that are constantly having issues. More than once I've had to get in my car and drive down to the gate with my opener in order to let guests into the complex. The BBQ area was constantly either out of propane or just plain not working. The grounds themselves look unkept and dirty. They say that's because they had to change landscapers which I feel is just an excuse. Again all of this was before Covid. So, now with the Covid 19 pandemic thing have gotten so much worse. The gym is completely closed as well as the theater. Heck you can't even go into the front office if you are experiencing a problem. You literally are not allowed in. While a complex less than a mile down the road has reopened their amenities with proper social distancing guidelines this property has held firm on not reopening our amenities except for the pools and the hours of operation are down right ridiculous. During the week if you happen to work what I will call traditional hours the pool will be closed by the time you get home. Or if you are lucky enough to not have a commute you might be able to jump in real quick before you will have to leave. I really feel that they are hiding behind Covid in order to save money yet our rent is some of the highest in the area. Then to be told that our rent doesn't cover the amenities is just wrong in so many ways. They really should stop saying that because I can tell you there is no way on gods green earth that we would have agreed to pay this high of rent without all the amenities that attracted us to this property in the first place. So enough about the amenities or lack there of. I also want to say that the only staff here that I hold in high regard are the maintenance team ( the ones who are sent out to your unit) these guys work their butts off and are always polite and helpful. So if you are considering making this your temporary or permanent home I would think twice about choosing this property. read more

This place is great, especially for families. The amenities are nice (pool, gym, theater room, etc.) and the staff keeps it all clean and tidy daily. It's so quiet here it makes me wonder where are the other residents? It's because just like the kind and helpful staff, the people that live here are just as respectful and quiet. The apartments themselves are nice and large, especially for two people. Another thing is they take care of things fast, like within a day or two, no later than a week in my experience. The location is nice, albeit a bit far from things. If you don't mind driving (which you'll most likely have to anyway while living in Tucson) then it's doable. At the same time, it also means there's less noise and more scenery. After being here a year, I'd recommend this place if you want a quiet place that's friendly and clean for a good value. My husband and I are building and wanted to be close our property so we went to visit the Encantada at Dove Mountain. We had called to see if an appointment was necessary just to see the grounds and we were told we could just stop in as there normally is someone who can show you around. So we did so on a Sunday and waited approximately 30mins and no one even acknowledged us as they were with other folks which wasn't the issue it was just the fact that they didn't even acknowledged us to say hello or anything or even a sign that said something so your just not hanging around. Then as one of the employees (Art) left to go with a customer, again just walked by and I stopped him and he said we are busy and that was that. The next day we received a call apologizing and offered for us to set up an appointment which we did for Father's day. We met with Debby who was wonderful, upon leaving we had selected a place and she explained that we needed to get our app and deposit in to hold. My husband and I took what was needed on July 21 around 1 and met with Jonathan as Debby was off. We also had given him the unit we previewed which he had placed on our paperwork and said we were good to go other than a paystub but he was going to run the application. I received a call today from Jonathan around 2 to tell me that he did run our application, however, they rented the unit we wanted yesterday. So I would say he did not block the unit as being spoken for and someone else rented it. Jonathan also stated that I could go in to pick up my $450. I was very taken back and asked to speak with the Manager who in turned phone me back (Art) and he proceeded to tell me that he was keeping my $450 as they had already run our application. I explained to him that it was not acceptable as we were told the unit was available. I immediately put a stop payment on my check and proceed to call corporate where you have to leave a message. Then I phoned back to Art to let him know my attorney said he could not legally hold my check as I was not notified that the unit was rented and the unit was recorded on all the paperwork. Art indicated he would speak with Jonathan and get back to me which he did and indicated that he reprimanded Jonathan and I could get my monies returned. Maybe this was a blessing as I am not sure what other fraudulent, untruthful events we could have encountered if we had resided there for the time needed. read more
