I was wrongfully told I was unable to volunteer due to a non existing background check that was never performed on behalf of Good Shepherd. I was set for a meeting at 130 PM on a Tuesday and was informed to not show up on that same day at 0900 AM via email in which I was unaware of The email until later that evening. (After the meeting) I met with Amy and proceeded with the meet and greet and tour of the facility. As Amy mentioned nothing about the email she posted at 0900 AM, she then decided "I will go forward with your background check." With the intent, I have decided to be a blessing elsewhere and to provide my volunteer services as I have been a volunteer with hospice on and off for the past 7 years. I do not feel as if the compassion, grace and kindness was presented here at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan Kansas.

He was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. My family and I were given every courtesy, afforded privacy, and were treated as if we were a welcome guest in a private home. The hospice was clean, beautifully decorated, quiet and every effort was made to make family members welcome. The time we spent at Hospice House with my father was brief, however we were never rushed or made to feel like we were imposing; a fine group of professional and compassionate health professionals made my fathers last days bearable.

I have never been to a salt cave before so this was a unique experience for me. I called and…read moretalked to Wendy before coming and asked her some questions to prepare for my experience. This salt spa uses the MindBody app so you can book your session on there. There are quiet sessions, casual sessions (with more light to read magazines and have light chatter), salty lunch (short time on a lunch break), salty kids (a children's session), and yoga on Wednesday nights. The spa is open every day except Tuesdays, so I came in on Sunday to try it out in the afternoon. It is $30 for a 45 minute session. Wendy greeted me and showed me around. In the salt room, there are Himalayan salt rocks on the ground like a beach, beach chairs, blankets, and cool salt decor on the walls. Wendy put on Tibetan music and told me how the fine salt would come out of the sconce in the wall for 45 minutes. I was by myself for this casual session, and mostly rested on a blanket on the salt beach. It was very relaxing. I think it would be fun to come back with Eric R., and he might like the yoga in the salt room too. After my session, I spoke more with Wendy and her husband Scott. She explained the benefits of salt therapy and why they opened the first salt room in the state of Kansas. It is a really cool place to have in our little city. Staff 5 stars from mantainance to house keeping they do their best. Since I talk with house keeping. The crew from what I have seen and heard. Does their best as well. Dietary ok 4 stars for them. Love their attitudes, have have one his name Jerold. Cool as hell and very very polite. Therapy department 5 stars what they lack in equipment they make up in heart. Jennifer and Jim they are the ones I see very helpful and at times funny. Jennifer has helped me to cope with being here along with the nursing and CNA staff. Nursing and CNA staff 5 stars. Both of their staff members have gone out their way as well to help me cope. I have a huge fear of these places. And they make sure I am fine during their shifts. 6 stars to sarge that is a big dog who greets you coming in the place. I love animals. But I am allergic to dogs. So I cannot be around him. So I think I am missing out playing with him. Ok now the reason for the 4 stars. Ok management treats the residents good. However when it comes to the staff it is a different story. I used to manage a 711 back home as well as a restaurant. You never ever yell at your staff. You treat them with respect and honor. One will be surprise on how much they will be willing to work hard and stay working at your place. It is good to have a honest boss and staff but there should be times when they need to sugar coat a problem. I find it hard to deal with my issues. I have a stage 4 wound and a ileostomy bag. Do it is kind of had for me to deal with this. But like I said nursing , CNA staff, and Jennifer have been helping me to cope. And get back to walking. Now yes I do recommend valley view. And I will be visiting them once I am discharged. However boy I hope not to get in the same boat again. But if I do valley view is the place for rehab.

Having a traumatizing experience as a kid at the dentist has caused a lot of dental problems, but this team made helped me so much. Leticia helped me set up my appointment, and she is one of the kindest people ever. She really made the process easier. Ariel and Dr. Craft helped me overcome my anxieties of the dentist and have been providing top notch care. I am so thankful to have chosen this location as my go to dentist!!
