I feel I have experienced discrimination due to the lack of knowledgeable staff here. I was wrongfully told I was unable to volunteer due to a non existing background check that was never performed on behalf of Good Shepherd. I was set for a meeting at 130 PM on a Tuesday and was informed to not show up on that same day at 0900 AM via email in which I was unaware of The email until later that evening. (After the meeting) I met with Amy and proceeded with the meet and greet and tour of the facility. As Amy mentioned nothing about the email she posted at 0900 AM, she then decided "I will go forward with your background check." With the intent, I have decided to be a blessing elsewhere and to provide my volunteer services as I have been a volunteer with hospice on and off for the past 7 years. I do not feel as if the compassion, grace and kindness was presented here at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan Kansas.

He was treated with kindness, compassion and dignity. My family and I were given every courtesy, afforded privacy, and were treated as if we were a welcome guest in a private home. The hospice was clean, beautifully decorated, quiet and every effort was made to make family members welcome. The time we spent at Hospice House with my father was brief, however we were never rushed or made to feel like we were imposing; a fine group of professional and compassionate health professionals made my fathers last days bearable.

Jennifer and Jim they are the ones I see very helpful and at times funny. Jennifer has helped me to cope with being here along with the nursing and CNA staff. Nursing and CNA staff 5 stars. Both of their staff members have gone out their way as well to help me cope. I have a huge fear of these places. And they make sure I am fine during their shifts. 6 stars to sarge that is a big dog who greets you coming in the place. I love animals. But I am allergic to dogs. So I cannot be around him. So I think I am missing out playing with him. Ok now the reason for the 4 stars. Ok management treats the residents good. However when it comes to the staff it is a different story. I used to manage a 711 back home as well as a restaurant. You never ever yell at your staff. You treat them with respect and honor. One will be surprise on how much they will be willing to work hard and stay working at your place. It is good to have a honest boss and staff but there should be times when they need to sugar coat a problem. I find it hard to deal with my issues. I have a stage 4 wound and a ileostomy bag. Do it is kind of had for me to deal with this. But like I said nursing , CNA staff, and Jennifer have been helping me to cope. And get back to walking. Now yes I do recommend valley view. And I will be visiting them once I am discharged. However boy I hope not to get in the same boat again. But if I do valley view is the place for rehab.

Of all the YouTube videos I've absorbed, I have dreamed and dreamed of having one. I had a consultation first. They asked me very specific questions. If I wanted touch, what kind of background sound, what experiences I wanted, if there was anything that would make me uncomfortable, etc. They wanted to cater to my grand experience as much as they were able. The experience was everything I hoped it would be. Soft brushes along my face and arms, smooth cool stones, hair brushed and played with, and much more. I absolutely got the tingles!! And not only that, but I've felt myself relax for the first time in AGES. It was such an incredible experience that I immediately booked my next session and plan to do one once a month!

The physical part of physical therapy did what it could but I was struggling with enduring the pain and the weeks/months it continued. Thankful for my masterfully skilled, physical therapist JH. He took the time to help me mentally comprehend the causation behind the severe, ongoing pain post surgery. It was a huge part of the healing process for me to realize what was happening MENTALLY as well as physically. Consequently due to this physical therapist's skill and dynamic treatment I am months ahead of the normal expectation. Over the years as GRF has expanded to multiple floors and now having a place for aerobics or additional fitness classes I find their gym to be the best in town. You don't work out on carpet, you don't have to worry about adolescents taking up all the equipment and I can say I haven't waited for a machine to do my workouts! During my time there I have asked for a few maintenance needs with equipment with those requests being met very promptly While I have worked out at every gym in JC, GRF is my number one and I refer everyone to try it out and make it there place to go for a great workout.
