My mission was quite simple. I was to get 1 quart of Watercolor Blue paint (shade 72/063) for the exterior of my house. This quickly turned into a disaster. When the staff member asked me if I needed oil or latex paint, and I asked her what she meant - she looked at me as though I was retarded. When I asked her to explain, she couldn't really explain the difference. Even when I explained to her that it was to paint a metal pipe running up the outside of my house, which had previously been painted before we lived there, she was still unable to provide any assistance. I questioned how I was suppose to know this, when she was the paint expert and she had been given all of the same facts that I did. On my way home I stopped at a second paint store. I again explained my situation. This time the staff were quick to suggest that I buy the latex paint. Needless to say, I was very disappointed with the lack of professional and friendly service at Colour Your World and I will be hesitant to shop there again.

It's got your standard mid-range paint products (Dulux and Glidden), wallpaper (in case you lost your mind) and any kind of tool that you may need for decorating your project. However, as someone who knows nothing about paint, or needs a lot of it for your project (say, to cover up the colour pink from every wall, ceiling, door and trim), you may not get quite the help you need. While the staff was mostly friendly and helpful, there were some very key points that, as non-contractor new home-owners, should have been covered with us but weren't. While we picked a few colours off the chip walls, because their online colour catalogue apparently doesn't match what they have in-store, we expected that we'd get the colours that we asked for. Boy, were we in for a surprise when our painter called us back to tell us that half the paint we had purchased was a clear-coat glaze that required separate background coat paint. Separate paint that we had not bought, nor had we budgeted for. Without this special, separate paint, the paint that was provided to us would take seven to eight (!!!) coats to get to the right shade we picked. Clearly, we were frustrated and disappointed that we were never told of this. At least the other half of the paint we bought was fine. Maybe if you get the right employee or ask the right questions, you'll get quality service, but unfortunately it shouldn't be like a Russian roulette game. If we ever decide to paint again, we'll likely spend a few dollars more per gallon and go someplace like the Benjamin Moore store.

Sure, some may say "they're exactly…read morethe same - it's a huge chain, dummy," but alas, the subtleties are where I thrive, my friend. Both Starbucks locations at these Chapters are forever busy, pumping out the java just as fast as the patrons, frothing at the mouth with blood shot eyes, can lap it up. I think the Dartmouth location offers a more relaxed sitting vibe and also seems like there is more attention paid to details, such as cleanliness. As for the actual factuals of this Chapter's location? I feel like it's more familiar. It just seems more relaxed overall. I know, around the holidays it's a mad house, but on the average day, I've enjoyed sitting in the aisles and pouring over words undisturbed. Don't you just love that you can read, like it's a library or something? There are some long time employees at this location, and their service can be pretty great. I feel like a lot of the workers here are bibliophiles which makes shopping here far and away more fun than the Hali locale. So, there you have it. I proclaim Dartmouth the victor. Three cheers to you, large bookstore.

Chapters in Dartmouth (which is a part of the Mic Mac Mall), usually fits the bill perfectly and even combines book hunting with another of my favorite things, caffeine! Starbucks and Chapters have their usual partnership in this location, but be forewarned that the Starbucks is one of the busiest I've ever been in, line waiting is inevitable. Browsing is easy with clearly labeled shelves and the handy book searches available on the public computers. The inventory of books, magazines, games, CDs, DVDs, gifts and small home decorations is massive. Due to the large amount of stock and the general public's lack of knowledge about the ins and outs of the dewy decimal system, the staff have to be very keen and helpful which is perfect because they are. Hot Hint: Don't be afraid to ask to have any book that isn't in stock order in for you.

Heritage just delivered a 300 pound Refrigerator to us in a truck with no power lift it was slid down over the back of the truck laid it down on it's side on our gravel driveway to remove the bolted protectors from the bottom before bringing it into the house, they then uprighted it on the gravel wiggling it around on the loose gravel to have me look at it and there was a large dent in one side of it I don't think you have to wonder how it happened wish I would have saved the video on our security cameras your local Garbage Truck looks good compare to what that refrigerator come in I refused to accept it. We also had a washer and dryer delivered by Heritage earlier they damaged our laundry room floor even told us and they did it, then got us to sign for no damage to the appliances as we thought and was not told that if we sign it we would not be able to claim for our floor, we are older people so now to hire someone to replace that floor I'm sure with todays prices we are looking at $2000.00 and Home Depot do not have your back. We went to Home Depot Dartmouth they put in a claim to Gallagher Bassett Canada the company they are insured with and after several weeks we were refused because we signed the slips so we got screwed good by Home Depot and their insurance company. In closing my advice to people I know and to anyone reading this is to avoid Home Depot they are not there to help you.

Stunned at the choices in the paint stripping/removal isle, I overheard a super cheerful woman helping one isle over. I waited until she finished with the customer she was helping and approached, keeping my social distance. She was super helpful & knew just what I needed. Perfect, the one star in the review - it's her. I grabbed the other item - something I had purchased before and knew exactly where to find. Navigating the store was a bit tough as I found a lot of the isles do not have arrows, no one really knew where to go sometimes. The inconsistency in staff wearing masks was a bit confusing to me. I finally wandered (not far) & found my last item: electrical wire. The signs very clearly state, cannot be purchased without associate assistance. Okay, let's find someone. I noticed the orange smock on a gentlemen about 15 feet away, I advised him whenever he was available I would need some assistance with the wire. He assured me that was no problem and continued assisting someone else. TWENTY MINUTES LATER I am still waiting, two men have been and left without getting wire, I continued waiting. I had even overheard another associate telling another customer that there was no one working in this department. I could still see the associate who assured me that he would assist - still not assisting me, but others in the seasonal department. I went to customer service desk, who were very visibly stressed and overrun with orders. There were two staff, the female was assisting one customer with her husband picking up an online order and loudly complaining to her male coworker. After standing on the customer service side and waiting for them to finish, the male associate asks if he can help, I advise I've been waiting twenty minutes for wire & just need some help. I am again assured that someone will be over and I head back over to wait. Over the following twenty minutes I witnessed a staff member walk behind me four times without asking to assist me and two other associates walk by. After fifteen minutes, I decided to pick up my phone (now at 12% battery from entertaining me waiting for almost an hour) and CALL THE STORE. After a really long ringing (convinced I heard my call ring from one phone to another along the front of the store before eventually being picked up by the female at the customer service desk, who screamed so loudly into the phone I couldn't even make out what she was saying. I asked for the stores manager. She wanted to know my concern to know which manager to send me to and I explain I have been in the store waiting for help for over 40 minutes. After a short transfer, a short conversation with a manager, one store intercom page (THE FIRST ONE) and ten more minutes of waiting, I left. I didn't even want to buy the items I had already picked up. I do not ever want to consider this store as a reasonable option for an establishment to encourage anyone I know to spend even a dime. Even in a pandemic. I am reconsidering future plans for moving to a lock-in where this would be my closest hardware store after the worst experience of my actual life.

This store is great for all things scented- with fragrant blends for each individual taste. Those who like fresh scents will love the citrus-y notes of the lemon fragrances. Playful personas with love the sweet pea products. And those into the classics with like the warm vanilla goodies. Those are just a few of the varieties you'll find in this store- and with the changing seasons, the store tends to add new flavor sensations. There are lots of products to choose from, ranging from rich lotions and body sprays, to a handful of hair products. For me I like the antibacterial soaps and sanitizers; where I work, I need all I can get. I like Bath and Body Works' sanitizers because they feature nice, fresh scents (not like the classic alcohol stench that comes from standard, pharmacy-brand sanitizers). Also, Bath and Body works has great secented products for the home- very, very useful if you own a dog, trust me. I sampled one of their aroma diffusers for my apartment back in Ottawa- it's kind of like a Glade plug-in, but they come in the classic Bath and Body Works stores. I'll admit that my Glade plug-ins certainly suffice, but once in a while, if I feel like switching things up, I'll use these diffusers for fresh scents. There aren't really cosmetics at this store, per se. But, there are a selection of bins with ssmall items like lip glosses (I bought a tasty, red-tinted gloss that was cranberry scented for the holidays, and in the past I've had one that smelled like a vanilla cupcake- yum!). Gift-giving is easy at this store. Home scents and body products are packaged in attractive gift sets and baskets. They're available year round, but during the holiday season, there are tons to choose from- and they're all reasonably priced sets. Next time you're at Mic Mac, check out this store- you'll like it!

I am absolutely in love with BBW! The amazing scents that enter my nostrils before I even enter the store make me weak in the knees. Not only the smell draws me in, but also the prices. There is always some kind of deal, and as I have said before I am sucker for them. That being said I spent nearly $30 on my last trip in, and came out with at least 10 different items. From hand sanitizers to lotions to candles to air fresheners, BBW has them all. From vanilla to citrus to jasmine to pomegranate, there is a fragrance for everyone. The only negative thing I have to say is; the bf hates it. Why? Scents sometimes bother him. SO for those of you out there who have these sensitivities, do not enter So I'll leave you with this: Oatmeal Caramel Cookie Candle.
