    Myakka at sunset

Great resort/campground! Right on the Myakka River with beautiful views. Lots of birds, gators, and fishing spots. The resort is gated, with nice clean bathrooms and laundry rooms. The sites are large and the campground is quite large and spread out with lots of room to bike or walk. They have plenty of weekly activities too like movie nights, music, and card nights. Oh and a very nice and very large pool and hot tub! Snook haven restaurant is just down the road too! All around a great campground!

    Take exit 191 off 75.

Rented e24a in park for 3 nights and was truly amazed at the hospitality and grace of our neighbors. No noise just peace and quiet. Lovely facilities maintained well. Security gate at entrance and pool + work out gym. We traveled with service animals(dogs), and no trouble with owner or park.

Wow! What an amazing experience we had at Ramblers. I'll be honest. We came to Venice to do some work nearby and we were dreading living in an RV park. We arrived on Thanksgiving and the office was closed so I called the phone number and the manager was very helpful. They had left all the check in information on the front message board we just missed it. We pulled into our spot and weren't happy about the location but it was Thanksgiving and we figured we'd talk to management the next day about moving but by the time Friday afternoon rolled around we were happy where we were. We were in C-166 right on the main road. We thought we would hate being so "exposed" but everyone would wave to us and say hi and we really liked that. We had good people watching too. We stayed for an entire month and the longer were we there the more we liked it. We didn't want to leave but our work in the area was done. BUT we loved it sssoooo much that we are hoping to make it down for a month next year! As everyone else said, the bath houses are clean...no they are spotless! The activities scheduled are great and everyone was very friendly to us. The pool as hot tub nice. The horseshoe pits, play ground area, everything about this community is top notch! If I had any critique it would be that you do has to kind of discover things on your own. Examples are how the mail system works, the laundry cards, the internet, where some of the activity stuff is kept (bocci ball and shuffle board stuff). Like I said, we LOVED Ramblers and hope to be back next year for a whole month!

    Great food and service!

We travel often for competitions and this by far has been the best place we've stayed at in Southern Florida. The community is well maintained as were the amenities. Having a cottage versus a hotel room was the best. The one bedroom was perfect for us (2 adults + toddler). Stores are close and convenient....and the best thing. NO DIRTY CLOTHES to bring home. There is a washer and dryer in the cottage as well. Love this property and so grateful we found it. Will highly recommend anyone book here as well we are already looking forward to a return trip.

Arbor Terrace claims they can accommodate 45' RVs, but it is simply just TOO tight, with unlevel lots you'll sink in. Go elsewhere! Campground employees asked us to move TWICE during our six-day stay... It was hard enough getting into the one spot we were already in, but the space they wanted us to move to was even tighter! We had to refuse moving, because we just would not have fit & would've hung up our rig. Next door neighbor told us big RVs get stuck in the lots fairly often here. It's a really nice park, overall: clean, quiet, friendly... but the infrastructure fits smaller sized campers, best.

For just under 3 years, we were lucky enough to call Camp Venice home. Unfortunately, the owner…read moresold the campground to the County and we must now vacate. We are headed back to the original resort we lived in when we 1st moved to Florida. Several things to point out on the plus side of this move.... The pool is amazing, clear and always open. You can have any beverage you want without a nazi shaking her stupid finger at you and talking to everyone like a dog. They will even sell beer in the office :) The rent is cheaper for actual AMENITIES. Notice I spelled it correctly and I also pronounce it correctly. It is NOT amenTities. I don't know how many damn people here say it wrong, but it's so maddening. Several of our snowbird friends will be joining us there and I truly couldn't be happier for that fact alone!! Rambler's Rest is clean all around, I will not have to do my own landscaping, either. The water and/or electricity are stable and won't randomly shut off, forcing boil notices. We won't be ON the river, but maybe 200 yards from it. Maybe, just maybe the skeeters and damn no-see-ums will give my poor body a break . We finally get to live near Cindy and John again!!! All of my sweet friends in park models here, though.... They aren't going. They were forced to sell their homes for next to nothing and they are scattered around, with most being in the same area code. We will still have to get together for Happy Hours come Snowbird season. Can't miss out on those. The most glorious part of all is that there will be nobody named Ann Moreland there to make everyone's life a living Hell. If the current owner has any thoughts or brains at all as a business man, he would do a quick survey and an internet search for both of his parks and take those reviews quite literally. He should also reach out to the employees that he had around last Christmas and inquire as to why he didn't get "thank you" from them for their supposed Christmas Bonus. Maybe he'll find out that Ann Moreland didn't actually give the bonus to them. Well, she DID, but it was to strictly to purchase the materials to fix her home that was damaged by last year's hurricanes. FEMA didn't assist her, as her home isn't even in her name. I guess she had to get it fixed somehow. Maybe she'll finally get busted for her insurance fraud claims on both of her cars, as well. Oh, and let us not forget to tell the owner that the new deck that was supposed to be done on the blue house at CV 3 years ago was actually "accidentally" done on the deck of her own house, without his knowledge. Karma hopefully hits her quick and harsh. God don't like ugly, Ann Moreland. One way or another, hopefully one day soon, you'll get everything in life that you deserve!!

The RV sites are spacious, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. Unlike many campgrounds where you're practically sharing coffee with your neighbors, Myakka provides plenty of room and natural vegetation between sites. It felt private, peaceful, and uncrowded. If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll never run out of things to do here. There are miles of hiking and biking trails, abundant wildlife, and excellent opportunities for photography and birdwatching. For those looking for a little adventure, the canoe rental outpost offers a chance to paddle the Myakka River and lake system while getting up close and personal with about 10 bazillion alligators. (The OG Floridian!) One attraction you absolutely shouldn't miss is the Trail and Observation Tower. The suspension bridge is a fun experience, and the views from the 72-foot tower are spectacular. Looking out across miles of untouched Florida wilderness really gives you an appreciation for how wild and beautiful this state still is. One word of caution: be mindful of the poison ivy. It's everywhere around campsites, trails, and wooded areas. As a native Floridian who should know better, I managed to find it the hard way and am still paying for that mistake. Learn from my suffering and keep an eye on where you're stepping, leaning, and reaching. Whether you're camping, hiking, biking, paddling, or just looking for a peaceful getaway, Myakka River State Park delivers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already "itching" to return. This time without the poison ivy. Pro Tip: Bring your camera, binoculars, comfortable walking shoes, and a healthy respect for Mother Nature. You'll be glad you did!
