I came and tried the analysis out of curiosity, and wanted to see for myself what the process was-- I was not very hopeful because I was worried that maybe that it was a gimmick used to sell shoes, and was convinced that with my niche needs (long history of injuries to multiple joints, instability of said joints, and the chronic pain associated with old injuries) that there would simply not be a shoe to be found for me. I was wrong. I was pleasantly shocked and surprised by just how in-depth the analysis and consultation was. I was even more amazed by the care, patience, and consideration taken into the recommended selection of shoes to try, with explanations WHY the recommendations were made. Even more happy that there were shoes my size to even try on (10-11s women'), and there were insoles selected to further customize things to my specific needs. I'll be honest, I wasn't even looking to buy shoes for myself today, but to just be a support to my friend. But the wonderful experience with Jeff talked the talk, and the shoes he selected walked the WALK. I never once felt rushed despite the busy store, I was able to really feel out and talk about what I liked and didn't like, which was received by Jeff with understanding and discernment. What truly convinced me was the IMMEDIATE and noticeable relief I felt in my ankles and knees, and what was initially pessimistic hopelessness for my case turned into something I never thought I'd feel-- hope and excitement. I'm excited to see how these shoes might even benefit my bad SI joint with time, which is constantly inflamed and in pain from the stress of working and walking every day. This is the first time I've ever invested in a more costly pair of shoes, but it's the first pair of shoes I've ever bought KNOWING that I'd at least get SOME relief from my chronic pain, and even would aid in preventing further injuries in the future with the stability they provide. I also spotted a few new athletic sneakers that I am considering for my next purchase. All of what I saw were reasonable prices. I had returns and I was able to find a comfy Clark branded low heel sandal. I enjoy this DSW location compared to Sumner & Crossroads. The store offers weekly shoe donations and customers can obtain 50 pts. I always forget about this. I learned today that DSW also offers water proofing services for a charge. This is perfect for suede or Uggs. A great service I'm glad I now know about. The staff here are extremely pleasant, helpful and leave a lasting impression after each visit. I was expecting to pay a little bit more than the big box sporting goods store that I previously bought my running shoes from, but the prices were about the same. They had a good variety of running shoes from full support to bare foot running styles. They also carry accessories (like hydration systems), runner's gels, 26.2/13.1 stickers, and running clothing. The excellent service, competitive prices, and the fact that the store is locally owned all make me a huge fan. I find myself trying on things whilst mid conversation with him everytime I come visit. LOTS of sports gear. Jerseys, hats and jackets. Lots of jackets. They have stuff for the kids too.
