Let's Play It again sports is a way too packed. It's a bit overwhelming and hard to find stuff. Especially in the golf section. I think it's just because I have so much it's a bit overwhelming. And the building is small. Staff is really nice but it's just not my favorite location. read more

This store is exceptionally organized and clean. I loved how everything was in order, clearly priced. The staff was so nice and directed me to the golf section. Honestly, if you are claustrophobic or even a little bit bothered by being in tight spaces, this is not the store for you. I went in looking for weights and left with nothing, not even a greeting from the two employees that were chatting at the register. A couple of the aisles are completely impassible, and the smell in the hockey area was... strong... I've been to plenty Play It Again Sports in VA - in fact almost all of my sports equipment (volleyball, soccer, tennis, softball, etc) growing up came from the one in Woodbridge, so I was taken aback by the state of this store. This space is simply too small and crowded. Several aisles were completely impassable due to sporting goods or bicycles piled in the way. Each aisle is barely wide enough for 1 patron. People waiting at the register or asking questions block the only way into or out of the store. I was asked to move 3x in less than 30 seconds by employees who didn't want to walk down the aisle and go around. The owner refusing to expand to a larger location is just ridiculous. You literally have to climb over stuff to reach half the store. You could dig through stuff for an hour looking for an item, or it's pair. Half the stuff in here is trash and should be thrown away. It feels like a hoarder house. read more

This store has heaps of sports stuff. Yep, piled up as high as the ceiling. No organization here at all. Oh the Hockey sticks were lined up. If you know what you are looking for you may be able to find it. Some equipment is like new and can be had for a significant savings. A great place to turn in you old sport equipment for cash. As my daughter put it, going to this place was like an episode of American Pickers except there were prices on the stuff we were finding and it was like an owner who has his collection priced so he is less likely to sell because he really wants to keep it. The small space was absolutely packed like a semi-organized hoarders' home. There were two associates at the counter chatting but no offer of assistance to navigate the mess. We found the bats and helmets that were on our shopping list but they were quite used for about the same price as the new ones at Dick's Sporting Goods around corner. read more

Starting a rollerderby career got expensive REAL quick when I started shopping online for new roller-skates. Then my husband suggested we visit this store. Yea, when you walk in, you get that claustrophobic feeling like if you somehow died in there, no one would find your body for weeks. But looking past that we found skates, pads, guards and with a little help from the great staff we found some butt savers. I would go back again, but let my family know I'm visiting there just in case I disappear and can't find my way back out again. read more

I was in need of a set of Golf Clubs but since I was not so sure how much time I'll be spending on it I decided to visit Play It Again Sports to buy a used set. The store is PACKED with all kinds of sporting equipment, and it was pretty busy on a Saturday afternoon. However the guys who were working were spending good quality time on the customers with questions and who needed help selecting the right equipment for their size/weight/experience level, etc. Anyway like I mentioned the place is packed with equipment, which is a Good Thing! They are sure to have whatever you are looking for there. I ended up with a great set of ladies clubs, a bag of Tees, a Glove, and a big bag'o balls that will last me awhile. I think I caught the name of the guy who helped me as Matt, and he was SO helpful and patient with me. If you are looking to get into a new sport, but aren't sure if you want to invest a lot of money, then this is your place! And BTW, I love my clubs! read more

There's a big box sports retail location within spitting distance of Play It Again. It SUCKS. What a breath of fresh air to come to Play It Again. I wanted a jump rope for my 6YO. Big box retailer, 1 speed rope, 0 kids ropes. Play It again, a dozen or so ropes to choose from, and the clerk greeted me upon walkign in, and took me right to where I needed to go. What a novel idea! No more walking around, BEGGING for help. I'll just go straight to Play It Again Sports from now on. read more

Anyone who's ever taken up a sport in their spare time knows: sporting goods are expensive. This is the reason that Play It Again is such a great store. Anywhere that you can find gently-used (okay, sometimes not so gently) sporting goods for a big discount definitely makes my short list. I've only bought discs for disc golf here, but they had a really wide selection. They ranged in condition from pristine to very weathered, and all were considerably less expensive than even the moderately-priced options at stores like Dick's. I also saw that they had a great selection of hockey gear, also at pretty good prices. They do carry some new stuff as well, but the used gems are the real reason to visit Play It Again. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I didn't have any questions, so I didn't get to find out if they were knowledgeable about the products. If you're a little out of shape like me and the majority of Americans, maybe it's time for a trip to Play It Again to pick up a new healthy hobby on the cheap. read more

Awesome store for buying used hockey equipment, among other sports I don't often play (Lacrosse, disc golf, baseball). I bought used inline blades and a stick and street hockey balls (the cashier gave me one for free since they're easy to lose). Everything I need for a perfect day. The people on yelp complaining about lack of organization need to learn to use their eyes. It's a used sport shop, of course the products aren't going to sit on the shelves as nicely as at Dick's sporting goods. There's a difference between lack of organization and plain old overflowing amounts of gear in stock. They have an ABUNDANCE of gear here, and one of the advantages over cragslist is that you get to try on whatever you wish. You walk in and there's tons of equipment everywhere you lay eyes, hanging overhead from racks and shelves on the walls all the way down to the floor. The staff is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the gear and local sport clubs and events. Overall, I was very pleased. If they keep doing what they have, I expect this type of business to remain successful, regardless of economic situation, as long as there are people wanting to play sports and get a deal. read more

This store is run like a hobby for the 3-4 employees who just sit and talk in the store. They offer no help and rarely acknowledge anyone who enters the store. The place is a mess and claustrophobic with crap stacked to the ceiling. How they stay in business is beyond me. Now they mock UNC with note on UNC jersey. I'll never set foot in the place again. Very unprofessional and unhelpful! First time my husband and I went here today. Everything is a complete mess and scattered. We were looking for a specific item and asked an employee. He said they don't carry it. We wanted to make sure so we looked for it and found it... That employee just didn't want to help. We go to check out and 2 employees are eating pizza and drinking Coke right on the counter. As we were waiting for my transaction to complete, the employee was chugging his Coke and handed us the receipt with a Coke in his hand. How unprofessional!! They need to be retrained... I've been to other Play It Again Sports stores, and this one is by far the most crowded, disorganized store I've ever been to. There's crap piled up to the ceiling and isles only big enough for one person to squeeze through at a time. I was able to find what I was looking for with help from the staff, because the place doesn't seem to have any sort of organization at all. The salespeople seem to like asking inane questions like "you just buy one set at a time?" and asking to see your ID when you're buying only $30 worth of stuff with a credit card. No one offered to hold the door while I was carrying 50 pounds worth of weights. I'll probably have to use this store again because hand weights are so friggin' expensive new, but I won't enjoy myself. I hope they clean it up a little and install an automatic door in the future. read more

I was impressed with the amount of used inventory at this location. I've been to others who had very little inventory. This one has everything! You do have to dig and look but what you want is probably there and is probably cheap. W look in a used pair of soft cleats, let with a use pair of cleats, a new pair of baseball pants and new socks for less than $25. If you have a child playing sports this is a go to for trading and buying their equipment. I'm dinging one star because we waited about 15 mins to check out. The young man near the counter said he wasn't allowed to run the register but didn't go get someone who could. That's my only complaint. read more

I was a big fan of a play it again sports in Boston and excited to find one when we moved. Not such a big fan of this one. There's so much disorganized inventory that you can't find what you need. Great experience at Play it Again Sports! I was looking for a pair of figure skates. The guy who helped me--may have been the owner--was super patient with me trying on multiple pairs as they all fit differently. I ended up buying a brand-new pair that they had gotten on close out, and got a great deal. I never would have tried them without the salesperson's help, as they were 1 1/2 sizes smaller than my shoe size, but they fit great. I bought my daughter another pair of lightly used ones in the next size up from her current ones since they had some nice ones. They sharpened all 3 and attached the blades to the new ones. I was there just after opening, and it wasn't crowded at all. I'll be back in a few months to look at ski stuff! read more

Was told I could bring back a pickle ball paddle when I bought it on Friday. When I took it back on Monday after trying it out once, I was told they wouldn't take it back because it had been used. I had to argue that it was in the same condition as when I bought it. They did finally let me return it, but it was a hassle. Won't be going there again. read more

Be very careful of this location. I had called an advance before driving there to see if they would take equipment that I had to trade in. I was told that they were interested in everything I had which included two golf club sets, a personal exercise trampoline, and an exercise glider. When I arrived at the store they informed me all they were interested in was the 2 sets of golf club irons. Nothing else. I was informed that the person who told me they were interested in everything else was brand new and he is just told to tell everybody to bring everything in. So not only did I take everything to the store with the impression that they would buy it all, they were only interested in the two sets of irons I had and insulted me with offering$18 for a complete set of mizuno's when they sell American Standard Club for over $30. Save your time and money and try a pawn shop instead this location is worse than a used car dealership. read more

I've been skating for a few years now and have decided that I want to try my hand at learning to play hockey. I'm on a pretty tight budget and since I'm new and don't know what I prefer in pads, etc. I decided to go with used. Yes, walking into Play it Again Sports is a little daunting- it is packed, but for good reason. You have options here, they can get different sizes, lengths, etc. (There is a method to the madness and most everything is hung up or set on a shelf now) The second I walked in two friendly guys came up and I told them I'd never played before and wasnt sure of my sizes. They immediately began digging through the bins- giving me items to try on, asking me which pieces did I think I'd need, etc. It was wonderful- I was overwhelmed with the idea that I'd have to figure it out and find it all and was expecting to have to be there for awhile but they took right to it and tried to stick with the cheapest pieces and left for me to decide if they fit well. 30 minutes later I was out the door, fully equipped and happy. read more
