I can tell you that my kids love going there, the community, the friendliness, and how patient the instructors are. My 8 year old had phobia of water and he has overcome that. What I love about this Danvers location is the impeccable bathrooms and facility. They have dryers, tons of changers, baby equipped bathrooms, and provide proper encouragement for our kids to engage in swimming giving medals when they progress. I rather put my kids here than see them at home in front of the screen! Keep your kids active and socialize! Join Goldfish!!!

He enjoyed the introductory class, so we signed him up for group lessons. Something to know: they do not allow "floaties" or "bubbles", they swim with an instructor assisting them if necessary, use a bar with floats on the ends or stand on this really large block in the water with railings where they can stand and wait turns to swim. Parents are not allowed in the water for group lessons. My son has mild autism and really needs one to one in the water, but they have a 6 month wait for private lessons. I went with him for 2 group lessons and did not realize the groups could be larger than 3 with only 1 instructor usually, he requires more attention unfortunately and will not return. Very well organized, kind and welcoming staff with excellent facilities.

If your child has learning disabilities or has anxiety problems in which you have to verbally cue…read moreyour child to listen to the instructors because their ADHD and anxiety is severe, SKIP THIS PLACE. I was admonished by the "Owner" because he thinks his program is one size fits all and he knows my child better than me. My son spent 5 years somewhere else before here and thought it would be different since we could actually sit in on the lessons, which we couldn't do at the previous place we went. Well after 4 weeks before today (Week 4 was the first one I was present for, my wife did the first 3 weeks) , he was no better off than he was before he came here. He only started doing what they asked after my interventions, which were no worse than me saying "You got this buddy" ,"You can do it" or "Come on, you got to get your hair wet", promising him rewards and followed by "Good job" when he did it. I was then told by the "Owner" that he knew how to get my child to respond better than me then accused me of making my son nervous when he WASN'T LISTENING BEFORE to the instructor. After a low key argument with him, I was told that I was not welcome back, which is ok, because my son didn't learn anything anyway after the 5th week. So again, as a parent, if your child only responds to your words, DO NOT COME HERE. And btw, singing nursery rhymes to a 9 year old to encourage them to swim DOESN'T WORK. For the price you pay per lesson, go somewhere else.

My son has grown leaps and bounds in swim classes with swim with Timm due to their extremely supportive and knowledgeable staff. They are always challenging all of the kids and switching things up each and every class. They class size is super small which makes it easier for kids and especially my son to learn and grow. Whenever I have questions, I can always count on Liz and Tim, along with swim instructors to help. Entry is $2 for adults, or you can pay $40 for a season pass. The parking lot is small, but there's additional parking at Dilboy stadium a short walk away. No food or drink allowed (besides water of course) which is a bummer, but makes sense for health and cleanliness issues. A few other reviewers thought the pool was dirty, but I haven't found that to be true. The locker rooms/bathrooms are a little rough, but it's an old community pool, what do you expect? It's pretty packed with kids so this is not the place to come for peace and quiet. Regardless, this will be a regular haunt of mine this summer for sure!

Dilboy pool is a really great way to beat the summer heat while having a cheap day out in the sun close to home. You can get their via public transportation by taking the 80, 87, or 88 bus, or drive to the pool and park in the lot in the back. The nice thing about this pool is that it is really big and not to full either. Mostly families visit, and they have a shallow wading pool for the tiny kiddies if you have any in tow. With 5 life guards on duty, and the deep end reaching 4 ft. 8 inches, you can feel safe in just about any inch of the pool. They also have a male and female dressing room equipped with toilets, showers, and dressing cubicles, so you can change on site if you prefer. A few changes to keep in mind that we heard from some of the regulars and confirmed with a lifeguard: 1) Chairs are no longer allowed at the pool, so bring a towel and be prepared to plop yourself down on the concrete. 2) They are now charging a $2 entrance fee if you go to the pool between 11 am and 1 pm. After this peak time it is free. 3) This isn't really a change, but something to be aware of if you are visiting for the first time with lots of people. The entrance to the pool is through the dressing rooms, which means your party will be briefly separated until you are on the pool side. Happy Swimming!
